  4. ICT shareholders will never get a direct return on investment from owning them. Its not really the point for most of us. If you are lucky, a £1 share is perhaps worth about 10p or 20p. or whatever someone will pay for it. They are not traded on the open market so its all pretty subjective.
  5. I am removing all off-topic posts from this thread after requests for this to be done. Its a serious topic and while I understand some are trying to lighten the thread, its counter-productive. The removed posts are not deleted, just hidden for now and may be split off to general nonsense if anyone wants to continue with them.
  6. Dont think it would be much of an issue to change that if the membership wanted to do so .... a few more important matters to sort out first though !
  7. @RiG : was playing around with PHP version (now 7.1) and also the security settings as we want to make the entire site (rather than just the login/shop pages) HTTPS with our next update. Not embedding tweets or side loading other elements not on our domain seems to have been an unfortunate side effect. I have rolled back some of the changes for now and embedding now works again.
  8. renewal forms are here : http://caleythistleonline.com/files/category/10-caleyjagstogether/ Liz - happy to put application for new members up as well. just send me the form and we can do so. save on postage.
  9. This statement concerns me. I understand and sympathise deeply for the personal tragedies that have befallen two of the board members in the last few months. Despite the 10% shareholding in the club at a time of turmoil, those circumstances would make CJT quite irrelevant if it happened to most of us in our own lives. However, as unsympathetic as this may sound, those on the board should look inward at that point. That is where the other (4?) members need to pick up the slack and take on things that Laura and Liz may have understandingly let lapse. If they cannot or will not take up the slack, then quite frankly, why are they on the board in the first place? What were they doing while L&L were grieving? I note the comment about getting rules registered and accounts signed etc. Are these the same rules that were already registered back in 2012 or thereabouts or are these new rules? If new rules then how were these approved without approval from the membership? The membership doesnt answer to the board. its the other way round !!! I note the comment about now having 6 members. Again, the same question. How was this board elected and when? A properly elected board, still within its defined term, can legitimately co-opt others onto it but there is no clear indication of when/where the mandate was confirmed or extended. The previous board cannot simply declare itself as the new board without the proper process. This is not some informal committee operating in the way that the old supporters club used to be able to, this is a formal setup with legal rules and processes which, from the outside looking in do not appear to be getting followed. How are you actively working to update memberships ? Where can people go to check if they are members or not ? Over the years the society has offered both term memberships and permanent memberships. How can a former member find out which they are. I am in the same boat as you here. I am, and always have been, willing to do whatever I can to help ICT. At various stages over the last 25 years I have served on the supporters club board (pre-CJT), have assisted the club with various technical things, operated this site as both an unofficial and official site, and provided hosting and/or websites where requested to numerous groups associated with ICT including but not limited to Highland March, CJT, Social Club and ICT itself. We (I) stand here again willing to offer help to any legitimate group that is associated with ICT. The only condition on that offer is that any group offered services or resources must have transparency of deed and actions and be operating legally under any constraints placed on them by law or by other external agreements. The forum platform itself is open to all and as users are responsible for their own posts then simply posting here is open and free to all without constraint. One of the frustrating things about CJT (for me) has indeed been the personalities involved. At least 3 of the people I think could do a great job for CJT and who I have varying degrees of friendship and/or interaction with, are at odds with each other. These are all really good people, all of whom are intensely focused on the well-being of ICT, and I think having a mediator could possibly be a good way forward. To regain any legitimacy that it previously may have had CJT needs to put a really solid foundation in place and for at least two of those 3 I refer to -- both of whom have indicated they have no desire to be on the board -- to be content that the rules and processes are in place for the society to follow in years to come. The current board can stay in place (if re-elected) but if there is any suggestion of impropriety or bypass of process still lingering then its pointless because any legitimacy they do manage to regain will not be retained.
  10. an unintelligible jargon for sure

  19. It is clear that this particular ship seems rudderless and based on snippets of information it appears that the erstwhile umbrella body that should be able to offer guidance and/or governance is struggling too due to the exit of key personnel ... so waiting for a statement from anyone looks to be somewhat pointless. If they are not rudderless and are instead choosing just not to say anything or to issue a statement publicly, on their website or on here then that is even worse and smacks of either arrogance or incompetence given the length of time and number of times a clarification has been requested by their membership. Don was ready to try and get things going before Christmas but it came to nothing for the reasons he has mentioned in regards to the delays from supporters direct. Regardless of your personal opinion of him, we all know he is like a dog with a bone when he does get his teeth into a subject, but after many years of service to this site, to the club in both and official and unofficial capacity, and to CJT he has decided to step back from his roles on all fronts and concentrate on himself for a change so that mantle must fall to someone else. Davie has stuck his head above the parapet so in my opinion we should get behind him and try to move things forward. Provided everything is done in a proper fashion and looks to be headed in the right direction then all should be good. I honestly do not care who runs the organisation but it has to be transparent and responsive to its membership which it has not been to now. As for anyone claiming control over the 10% - cant see how that can be done until we (as supporters and/or members of CJT) can verify whatever needs verified which should be part of that whole process.
  20. Like any committee a lot of people put a lot of work in, much of it unappreciated. Others were there simply to say they were there or to pad some CV and yet more may have had some personal reasons that overtook this as a priority. Some doubtless had disagreements, jealousies or other issues with each other. Some behaviour was not always professional or acceptable. Members who thought they were yearly members then thought they were life members, and members who thought they were there for life find out they are not .... in other words its a feckin mess ! But one thing should remain at the forefront in everyone's mind ---- this organisation has a 10% voting stake in our club that is in danger of being lost if this does not get sorted out. So there's a line. lets draw one in the sand and concentrate on moving forward. Many of those previously involved with CJT in the past have posted in this thread and I know some were working behind the scenes to get info and try to move things forward. they should be applauded even if they kept hitting brick walls and facing scorn when they tried. Davie is the latest to try and grab this whole thing by the scruff of the neck. Lets get behind this effort and see if we cant finally move it forward. I have said it multiple times and will say it again. I will try to help where and when I can within the constraints put on me by distance. I offer resources, and a platform to get the communication across to people. I offer a home for CJT within a feature of the site we have not yet used ('Clubs') be it on a temporary or permanent basis. By all accounts, the club face difficult times ahead and if we the supporters want any say in what happens along the way we simply cant sit back and let 'someone else' do things ... it wont get done and 10% say is gone at some point.
  21. the sources quoted are speculation as the fee was never disclosed as far as I know
  22. Davie - or whoever - let us know what if anything CTO can do to help in terms of info, distributing forms for download, or as mentioned before about having the "club" section within the site. I would probably get more involved if I lived closer, and I was hoping there might have been a meeting while I was back in December but sadly not .... but happy to do what I can from afar ...... I believe the new version of the forum software (currently in beta stage) may even allow membership fees to be paid online and sent onwards to a third party (ie. not through us) but I do have to get more info on that as if thats possible we could extend that service to any (legitimate) groups who may need to have a membership page and an easy way to collect membership dues, send renewals etc.
  23. *** VOTING IN THE POLL ABOVE IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE AT THE MATCH ONLY *** If you were at the match, please use the poll above to vote for your top 3 players. As a bit of fun, we have also added an option to rate the referee .... Please make sure you vote for 3 separate players. If you make an error, let us know so we can fix it. PLEASE ONLY VOTE ABOVE IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME Anyone caught trying to cheat the system WILL be banned from voting in ALL site polls...this is your only warning. **NOT at the game ?** As a result of requests received, we have made a slight change to how these threads work for site users who watched the game on TV or listened to the full game live on the radio ....... You too will now be able to cast your votes, but should do it in the thread below, and NOT in the official poll above. Just list the three players of your choosing and award 5,3, or 1 point(s). You can give the ref a mark if you want too ! These votes will NOT be counted in the official total, as we only count votes from those who where actually at the game, but it IS a way for you to participate in the process .... which many people asked for .... a happy medium we hope !!!!!
  24. horrible weather, horrible pitch, horrible attendance ... but the scoreline looks good :) got Alba on the big screen and a cup of coffee so I am good :)
