  1. would be interesting to know who was donating all this stuff ... clearly it is someone who is (or was?) a fairly diehard supporter with all the programs and now this .... thats a shirt from the 2000 season (or thereabouts) so if it was a player sponsor then it may even have been used at Celtic Park that season as we were given "game worn" shirts in those days. (yes they were washed first) I have two shirts from back then - one framed and hanging on my wall - and they were used at both the Celtic game in 2000 and again the next year at the Hearts game when we had to use an alternate shirt as they thought our stripes would clash with Hearts maroon. The club quickly ironed on a sharp logo on top of the scotrail one and those were used .... [note to self: need to remember to ask the club for those certificates of authenticity !!!] ... my point being, it would take a lot for me to give away all the stuff I have built up over the years for ICT (and TFC for that matter) so the back story to where all this is coming from might be interesting ....
  2. *** VOTING IN THE POLL ABOVE IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE AT THE MATCH ONLY *** If you were at the match, please use the poll above to vote for your top 3 players. As a bit of fun, we have also added an option to rate the referee .... Please make sure you vote for 3 separate players. If you make an error, let us know so we can fix it. PLEASE ONLY VOTE ABOVE IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME Anyone caught trying to cheat the system WILL be banned from voting in ALL site polls...this is your only warning. **NOT at the game ?** As a result of requests received, we have made a slight change to how these threads work for site users who watched the game on TV or listened to the full game live on the radio ....... You too will now be able to cast your votes, but should do it in the thread below, and NOT in the official poll above. Just list the three players of your choosing and award 5,3, or 1 point(s). You can give the ref a mark if you want too ! These votes will NOT be counted in the official total, as we only count votes from those who where actually at the game, but it IS a way for you to participate in the process .... which many people asked for .... a happy medium we hope !!!!!
  3. creating the matchday topic (very) early as I will not be around tomorrow at kick-off time. Got a christening to go to then a birthday party so normal updates and player of the year poll etc will not be posted until later in the day ... unless one of the mods does it. look forward to getting multiple pings on my mobile during the match as the goals go in !!! at the right end hopefully.

  5. That has been on our site since about 1999/2000. Cant be arsed searching through all my archived stuff but the logo below was what we used in 2003 .... long before it came into use by the club or anyone else. I cant lay claim to thinking up the phrase, I believe it was used in a newspaper article - perhaps by Bill Leckie - and it just seemed to fit at the time so I added it to the graphic and registered the domains too (which redirect to here with no fanfare). We have left it as our tagline under the main site ever since. Nothing sinister, no coincidences and nothing to do with what the club are now using or which they have subsequently trademarked for use in certain places.
  6. Technically he left by mutual consent, as did Hughes, but you could easily argue the semantics of either situation. I remember the Airdrie game ... flew back from Toronto that morning a mere 10 days after the atrocities of 9/11 so everyone was on edge on the plane and airport, was whisked to the ground by ITN who picked me up at the airport, fell asleep in the stands in the second half as we went down without a fight (0-5 at HT, 0-6 at FT) and then got the supporters bus back up the road ... a thoroughly horrible night. Worse for me was the night at Ayr the next year in the cup QF where Tokely got sent off and Paterson made him stand outside. We lost 5-1 and Ayr had a further two goals chalked off. The stewards were absolute nazis that night and it was a miserable trip back up the road. The game after the 'ballistic' game was only a 0-2 defeat at St Mirren but it probably felt worse than it actually was given the euphoria of the previous game. 1. My personal nightmares are listed above and I think others have touched on a few that also come close - losing by a bucketload to County one year at home would also be high up my list but I wasnt at that match so only quoted a couple where I was there. 2. There are a lot of folk around the club still doing stuff voluntarily. We are lucky we do have a fanbase that will do this and a club who - for the most part - will let them become involved (some clubs are not so open about this). Richie Foran in the Q&A also left an open message to folk to say any ideas were always welcome. 3. I agree about the contract lengths. Offering two years was always a big frustration of mine but I kind of understood why it was being done in the early days as we werent sure of staying in the SPL each year. Nowadays I think its a safer bet and am happier to see that we are starting to offer longer contracts. Certain players however wont (or would not) sign longer contracts as they wanted to keep options open ..... 4. The board do work incredibly hard to try and bring in money, as do all the others involved in trying to sell our sponsorship or tie up other corporate tie-ins. Could they do better? possibly ... but lets face it Scottish football, outside of a few teams is not exactly an easy sell ! As for JH using the media, he did indeed and there are parallels with his tenure at previous clubs as predicted by a few visiting fans when he was first appointed.
  7. I am sure Richie has broader shoulders than to take anything said on an internet forum to heart. He is clearly very passionate about what he wants to achieve at ICT but he is a new manager, learning his trade as it were, and taking the flak for a sh***y result is as much a part of the learning process as taking the plaudits for a 7-0 mauling of another team .... HarryChibber makes some very good points, and I would agree that our start has been less than acceptable, and that none of us want to see RF fail, but I would take issue with a few things Dont think this is our worst result ever. Bad? absolutely, but worst? no. There's a couple of references to the club being unable to afford sports specialists or refusing to put money into the team. I have a simple question. Where is the money coming from ? As a club we make a six figure loss every single season unless we have a cup run or windfall of some description. This is not bad management of our finances, it is simple math based on our incomings and outgoings and low crowds. There are certain levels and standards we have to meet to play in the top league and the club have also been careful when it comes to other things that we might like (eg a streaming audio/video service) where costs may take away from the playing budget. The board run a very tight financial ship. It constantly winds me up that people only see one side of the story ... be that the so-called happy clappers, or indeed the doom and gloom merchants. There's a fine line between top and bottom six every season and although it is true to say we were in the bottom six last year we were not really in any danger of relegation. Also, when we lose players every year sometimes its because we just cant keep them either because they want more money than our finances can afford, because they themselves (or their agents) want to move, or yes, in some cases because the manager deems them surplus to requirements. its not always one-sided. John Hughes wasnt sacked. He engineered his own way out after his working relationship with the chairman broke down. Not sure anyone but the chairman and JH and maybe a few others know the exact ins and outs of this but Craig Brewster remains the only manager we have sacked.

  10. According to the club website ...... TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE BY CLICKING HERE, CALLING/VISITING THE STADIUM TICKET OFFICE OR VIA THE 24 HOUR CALL CENTRE ON 0844 847 1888 The stadium ticket office/shop number is still listed on the contact page: http://ictfc.com/info/contact-us so its not a secret .....
  11. They only paid for the rights for the UK broadcasts (for their license holders !) and certain other clubs and broadcasters made sure they had to "geo-fence" them so they could not be accessed outside of the UK. It actually costs the BBC more to do this than to broadcast it unfettered. Really cant blame the BBC for this and there are plenty of workarounds by using legitimate VPN providers as opposed to browser add-ons that dont always work. As for the quality of the content itself thats my main issue as the live commentaries have reduced and OAM is an utter joke half the time. Clubs on the other hand have worldwide rights on their own content so once it becomes financially viable to provide a platform for fans be it in the UK or outside then it will happen. Cost and the crappy connection at the stadium have been the major stumbling blocks up until now. As Don has mentioned above, both myself and him have been looking at this for years and he continues to do so. I know the discussions that Don and I had over the years on this subject so I am totally confident that he will make the right noises to the right people when the right solution is available .... The big thing here is that the club have wanted to do this for a long time provided it is not a huge financial millstone (we all know how precarious our accounts are on a yearly basis) so the fact that the subscription model is being well received, along with the fact that the Donald I know will likely strike a hard bargain with any provider that he can present to the board brings it ever closer.
  12. twitter feed added to the right of page to make following this easier .....
  13. read this then looked at the team lines on twitter .... Bryan Prunty !! U20 !! then realised it was only ICT who had to use U20s .... reckon Prunty must be older than at least 3 or 4 of our players added together !
  14. local noise by-laws? lower lux level in their floodlights?
  15. I am not involved in poring over any of the options any more (thank feck) but I am happy in the knowledge that the person who is doing so is very much like his old avatar of a dog with a bone. Pretty confident that Don will try to (is in the process of) find(ing) out all the ins and outs of all the possible options, will look for a solution that is the best fit for the fans and the club at an affordable cost, and get the relevant buy-in from others to get it implemented when those numbers make sense in terms of both performance and cost. Keep suggestions coming though ... just in case there are any viable options he hasn't got round to considering and recommending to the directors yet. Sounds like many of us on here (and likely just as many who dont come on here) would consider a subscription at that very reasonable cost, and not just those of us living abroad. I make a point of watching the club's own video highlights most weeks and the production quality keeps increasing ... its exponentially better than the ones we were putting together a few years ago when the video stuff was first posted and we were throwing together a video from the BBC with a few overlays in Adobe Premiere each Monday morning. Kudos to those who give up their time and skill to do this as volunteers, and glad to see so many folk would be happy to contribute to the costs via subscription.
  16. £15 is pretty reasonable for a full season and a lot less than was floated when you and I first started looking at this a few years back ... £15 at that time was looking like the monthly cost ... technology has moved on, costs have dropped, but the requirements of end users have also increased so thats pretty fair in my books.
  17. They actually discussed this on Sportsound today ..... the debate about pre-season or actual season I mean, not Charles' status. Richard Gordon and Willie Miller agreed that it was the season whereas a couple did not and Chic - on another planet as usual - thought we were playing for the coca cola cup ! In the end, it was agreed it was the real season and the only ones still calling it pre-season were a couple of condescending premiership managers who thought the opposition unworthy of them .... something I am sure Peterhead and Alloa are chuckling at whilst Dundee, County and Kilmarnock are not !
  18. I believe so yes. We have won 6-1 before (against Alloa in 2005) and been beaten 6-0 by Celtic (in 2010) but this is our highest score as far as I can see. Our 5-1 away win at Dunfermline is also our highest away score in the league cup
  19. Tremarco with the 7th. setup by 'winger' Warren
  20. Draper on for King and Jason Brown on for McNaughton .... last sub hopefully Doran on near the end to get a bit of a run out.
  21. Arbroath have only got 2 outfield subs today and have used one of them at half-time.
