A fair point
What standard should we expect at TFC with a reduced admission and would we be happy with it? Or shut the **** up!

New world order
I'd like to congratulate all those responsible for the new communication between club and fans at ICT on both sides and reiterate that we're on the same side, we all want the team to excel. So well done to all at ICTFC and ICTol. Keep talking and keep improving.

Paterson Checks Into Rehab
...and ironically some hefty winnings at the bookies as I recall! I'm sure we'd all like to think the odds are stacked in his favour. He'd make a tremendous scout for ICT. There would be many here (me too) who'd like to see him back.

Personally as a recovering alcoholic, I have to watch myself not just as far as alcohol is concerned but also my pre disposition to become addicted to things. I have seen and heard of many addicts who have beaten one addiction only for it to transfer to something else. I wish Pele all the best in beating his gambling addiction. Graham Hi Graham I know you personally (fellow taxi driver many moons ago) and I never would have thought you had any addiction problems. I must firstly congratulate you on overcoming them and secondly congratulate you on continueing to overcome them. They'll never go away and as long as you know that, you control your life. Good luck.

Player of the Year Poll
Agreed, but is that not what we've come to expect of him? Maybe there sould be a quietly effective option in the vote poll. I'd love to see his face at the award ceremony at end of season - Russel Duncan voted "Most quietly effective player of the year" - maybe not, eh?

Paterson Checks Into Rehab
To paraphrase Shakespeare, "The bad that men do lives after them, the good is often interred with their bones." Not sure if it can be called wrong, but in many cases necessary. People are not always free agents to make rational choices. Ask anyone who lived through those crazy happy days, Pele was, and is still family, thats why we still get these "SP is coming back!" rumours and pleas. Not only is he part of ICT's family, but he does have a family of his own who are supporting him through this troubled time, I can only assume that Mr Asterix has his reasons for feeling as he does but it doesn't reflect the general views on here and certainly not of this poster. I'd still love to see Pele come back as a scout, he had an uncanny eye for latent talent in players from lower divisions. That would be good for the club and good for him, a win/win situation.

I'vee been ripped off! It said ?12 to remove the ads and it cost me ?12.22. Suppose it's 'cos of the exchange rate to monopoly money in Canada, eh? The ads didn't bother me at all but if it helps keep this site going, why not? ?1.02 a month isn't a kings ransom.

An apology
READ MA FECKIN LIPS! STILL EARLY DAYS. Get off his back and let him get on with it.

An apology
Selective quoting, gotta love it. I was one of those who had posts removed, none of them were defamatory but as was explained to me by Yngwie they could have led down that path. So in hindsight I wouldn't have made that post but when you hear rumours about something or someone close to your heart it is difficult to restrain yourself. I have also posted negative posts about Brewsters tenure here at ICT more to do with his chosen style of play, but he has proven me wrong last weekend and as the season progresses the new players will gel better. Still early days but things don't appear as bleak to me now as they were last week, bring on the Arabs.

It is the opinion of most ICT fans. Hope this works for you Steve, good luck.

League Cup Quarter Finals
Rather get put out by one of the OF away and get some cash in than get put out by Falkirk.

League position after next 4 games.
November's going to be worse with 6 games.

League position after next 4 games.
At the moment I can't see us taking more than 4 points and I'd probably reckon on only 2 points from the next 4 fixtures picking up 1 point from Killie and 'well at home. I hope I'm proved wrong but looking at the months fixtures I can see us slipping down two places and being drawn into a relegation fight by the end of the year.

Morton V ICT Match Night Thread.
Especially when we had made it clear he wasn't in our plans and had pretty much burned our bridges with the player anyway :thumb04: But no, we certainly weren't in a position to turn down ?100k from Hibs. When did our home performances start to deteriorate? Could we afford to accept ?100K for what was our best player? League position and cup runs generate income, how much more would we have had with Rankin in the team? Some daft country bumpkin team called Ross County went up and Airdrie followed after Gretnas demise :018: No, I still don't get it, who? He might not have been out of favour under CC but under CB he certainly was. Again, when did our home performances start to deteriorate?

I think Bush has posted some very good posts in this topic as it is apparent that no matter what brewster does, some fans want him out regardless. A pont that has been missed, may have been raised in other threads, is that this season has seen the biggest change/turnover in our squad since Pele took over when we were in the third division. This is undoubtedly having an impact as these players get to know each other. At long last however, we are also starting to produce youngsters capable of playing in the SPL which is the future for us. When playing young players, you will get inconsistent performances and allowances have to be made for this although not by some on this forum it appears. Finally, remember football is a results business. If we played wonderful attacking football but lost every game or got relegated, then I would not be happy. The priority has to be results with hopefully the good football follwoing on after that. For those who say they would rather watch entertaining football and never mind the results, time to come into the real world. spot on. I'm waiting

Rankin hadn't bought a house at that point. He was told by Brewster that he didn't figure in his plans and then made a move to sell his house in the North. At the same time he was brought into the team and turned in some fine performances. Far from persuading Rankin to stay ICT and Brewster now had a form player who they could command a higher fee for hence the numerous bids from Falkirk and St. Mirren but ICT kept wanting more and more for John. My mistake. However, It was Christie that dropped him in the first place, and I stand by my original point, when a team like Hibs come calling with 100k, neither the club, nor Rankin himself, were ever going to say no. He shouldn't have been available IMHO. RIG for some reason I must've blanked out this years 2nd division champions. :thumb04:

Why did Rankin leave? And don't tell me that wasn't personal. I'd rather....have Pele back in charge. Aye. Very good. At least under Pele, you left feeling you had been entertained for your money My point exactly.

Then first division opposition in Morton. Ask Hibs, Hearts or St Midden if they'd swap places with us... Morton are newly promoted and looking at the league table they're going straight back down, second division opposition like I said. Results are important but so too are performances, otherwise there would be empty grounds up and down the country every saturday afternoon. Fans pay to see attractive attacking football and a team that gets a reputation for that attracts a lot more fans than those that play ugly football. (I'm not putting ICT in that bracket but sometimes....)

No I'd rather they dispatched lower league opposition in regulation time, I'd rather the team was firing on all cylinders, I'd rather players who are performing well keep their place in the team, I'd rather personal differences between manager and player don't get to the point that the player is sold off to rival teams, I'd rather....have Pele back in charge.

So, what has he achieved exactly? Narrowly scraped through against second division opposition? Woop de doo.
