  1. Wonder what sort of salary he might be on? As in, top, middle or low earner?
  2. What we don't want is to get hammered by Rangers, with one point being a success, so I'll go for a very defensive line-up of: Esson Proctor Tokely Mihadjuks Munro Dejbi-Zadi Kerr Black McBain Imrie Rooney Subs: Fraser, Duff, Hastings, Morais, Duncan, Foran, Wood It would be either Foran or Rooney up front, so let's give Rooney a chance. The line up also gives the full-backs the chance to power forward. If we lose an early goal, Proctor switches to right-mid (but I think he could do a good job as sweeper/defensive mid).
  3. I'd love a transcript of what was said. Word for word. You find people pick on just a few hits - a lot of time through a leading question "I see a medicine bottle in front of me Has someone been ill?" "I do see some trouble ahead..." etc etc. if the answer is yes. If the answer's no, no more questions, it's forgotten. A scientist once paid for his PhD by reading palms. He studied the art just to make it believable then he found his clients were actually agreeing everything that was said, so he believed there was something there... ...then he was advised to read the exact opposite of what he found and got the same reaction. Result: once again skeptical. There's a good few other ones too. Try badpsychics.co.uk for a few exposes on TV mediums. Someone like Gordon Smith (not the SFA one - the psychic hairdresser) would be interesting but Acorah? Simply laughably bad.
  4. Disappointing but our next two Saturdays mean everything. Killie and Falkirk!!!
  5. Thank goodness we're not relying on Proctor at the back against that Motherwell attack. Surprised but not disappointed to see Duncan and Black straight in.
  6. I wouldn't totally discount mediums (although I'm pretty skeptical to say the least - discounting just seems a bit unscientific), but Derek Acorah? No way! Total fraud.
  7. ...and continue to. Why on Earth is the next election going to be Labour v Tory again??!!??!! A country gets the government it deserves! Totally agree that a chairman with a reasonable measured approached that said don't lend too much, don't borrow too much, the entire collapse of the banking system is around the corner would have been swiftly given the short-shrift.
  8. Hmm, 2 out of 4 sound very interesting (first two), with the last one just this side of 'give-it-a-go' with the last phrase.
  9. I smikmed sgtarhit torhugh no pelrbom.
  10. I believe Vodafone has the most 'reception points' (just made up that term) and is often cited by people working in remote areas.
  11. Actually I'm just writing an article about Fergie's greatest feuds (I'm limited to seven - have a guess which), so I hope Benitez doesn't quit just yet!
  12. I have two big problems with Iraq: 1. Blair stood up in the House of Commons and said Saddam could keep his terror government as long as he complied with the weapons inspectors. He tries now to pass off Iraq as some great democracy experiment. He was either lying then or now. And that's too serious a lie to let go. 2. The biggest rally Britain has EVER seen said No War, with polls consistently against. After the farce of the election of Bush in his first term (and he has the cheek to promote democracy!), this destroyed any notion of representing the people in Parliament. An election over numerous issues isn't carte blanche to rough ride over the electorate.
  13. Yeah but in that he says, "I take my responsibility as a member of the Cabinet for the collective decisions that we made". And I remember what he said at the hustings when he put Blair in his pocket but what I meant was, what did he REALLY think. Neither of those statements were a personal view and his assistant Ed Balls said Brown was reluctant. But in the confidential meetings did Brown speak up? I guess we'll know in 30 years time.
  14. I can see Hibs doing it this weekend after last week's shambles. Let's hope so anyway.
  15. In many ways, I agree with the decision but I'm sure if the evidence wasn't incriminating, they'd be happy to announce that, as a one-off, to reassure the public, they would release the minutes. I'd LOVE to know what Brown said. You could write on a matchbox the number of comments he has made.
  16. Can't be Dingwall. Remember he said "every club at the level we/you are at" - Ross County have never been at our level, i.e. an established SPL team.
  17. I won't be voting for either party either but I worked in mortgages when the Tories had interest rates at 15% (remember Norman Lamont's 'green shoots of recovery' and 'unemployment is a price worth paying for low inflation'?) - try punching 15% interest into a mortgage calculator. On a 100,000 mortgage over 25 years, the monthly repayment is ?1289.16, whilst the 4% (roughly what Labour has managed) is ?533.43. The boom trade was in the repossession department. Couldn't take on enough temps to cover! As it is, I'd welcome massive interest rates as I'm a saver rather than a spender Neither of those parties has the answer. Do any others?
  18. Tell me about it. I've two bank accounts, one in USD, the other GBP. I've been losing money hand over fist on one. Just trying to decide when's the best time to switch over the GBP account to USD (or Euros). There's a lot of money to be had but a lot to be lost if you get it wrong. I know there'll be people thinking 'yeah, well at least it's credit not debt' but it wasn't always that way.
  19. You've both got a point there. I'd be p!$$ed off if I was dropped after being part of a 2-0 winning team. I guess with team spirit being so important to us, that might just be the way. You're in if we win!
  20. Chick's a strange one. He was actually one of the main voices in the media calling for Inverness to have a team in the days of old.
  21. Most clubs are in favour apparently.
  22. Yeah, there's four left feet between you!
  23. Blimey*! Put like that, maybe living in fantasy is not such a bad thing after all!! (*thought I'd better change the original expression)
  24. Club 8. Swedish electronica indie pop. Rather like a blissed out Cardigans or Trembling Blue Stars. Have a listen to the wonderful "Spring Came, Rain Fell" on their MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/club8
  25. Then you're forgetting not one but two recessions in the last Tory government. You're also treating Britain as a whole, when the economy was split into areas of deep depression and areas of high prosperity. Ken Clarke and Gordon Brown were virtually interchangeable as Chancellors.
