Gers in for Cowie?
Wouldn't be nothing if he left in January but it would be pretty low. I can see Smith taking on Cowie as a squad player and I could see Don thinking the finances made it worthwhile. I was just drafting an article for the blog looking at worst buys of the season. I was shocked at how much Smith had spent on players not doing it - Edu (?2.6M!!!), Lafferty, Webster, Miller and Velicka. Shocking!

Brew Plays for ICT
Always felt he would be better suited to wing-back or left-wing rather than a bomb scare left back

News Release from Club
Sorry Andrew, just don't see it. In fact, I could see Brew staying even with relegation.

News Release from Club
I can't share the 'optimism' in not mentioning the manager by name if it says 'he knows his budget'. It can only be Brewster. They're standing by their man. Normally, I'd applaud something like that in other walks of life but not when they are merely custodians of the club. It's not theirs to mess up. It's down to the wire this season and no hope thereafter. It's all gone horribly wrong at the hands of a manager nobody wanted back. The board must take full responsibility for their ineptness.

David Proctor
In case you've missed it, David Proctor has come out asking for the board to stand by Brewster. I'm sure it's the club's best interests he's got at heart and not his wage packet. "I don't think any knee-jerk reactions would do the club any favours." Right enough - it's only after the Aberdeen game fans were upset at his appointment. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/...86908-20989144/

Brewsters Replacement
Why did Robbo fail at Hearts? Coz he walked rather than take Romanov? Was Burley a failure too then? Thought he did pretty well at Derry too. The main gripe appeared to be that he was away too long looking after his terminally ill mother. Look where they started, look where they finished.

Gary McAllister
There are few teams I dislike as much as Leeds. Ken Bates was an ideal chairman for them and when the loathsome Dennis Wise was their manager, it was perfectly hateful. All they needed was Vinnie ended-Gary-Stevens-career Jones as PR man and I'd happily see them go bust.

David Proctor
Yeah, I think 4-5-1 can work but with wide midfielders and attacking midfielder, not the way we play, which is wide players cutting inside and everything through the middle. I also rate Proctor highly but not as a central defender. Love to see him take what should be Duncan's role in defensive midfield (although I know Duncan's not always played there).

Will We Be Relegated ?
We're down if he doesn't go before the transfer window. Fancy our chances if we get someone inspirational before that.

Brewsters Replacement
If Brew decides to go, then surely we'd offer Malky the step up to continue the good work done in the past year?

Mcgeady v Strachan
Me! First post on my new blog (well, apart from an intro) and the reason I tuned into this post

Dennis Wyness (Split)
He certainly wasn't doing it towards the end of the season. Undoubtedly due to a lack of confidence and motivation. Can't altogether blame Brew for not keeping a player that just didn't fit in to his plans. However, It was sooooooooooooooooooooo obvious though that we needed an experienced striker (as the forum was constantly saying), so he at the very least needed replaced.

Zadi Gone or Not (merged)
No doubt the Highland curse will strike and he'll be terrible for the next team he plays for... ...hang on, something not quite right there....

Team for Aberdeen
Hey it was deliberate! The back four are all Brewster players, with Byrne on the wish list. The midfield will probably all be gone next season and Wyness is just what we need up front but obviously he's gone. Ok, my real team (Tokely's out isn't he)? ----------------Esson------------------ Proctor--Duff----McGuire------Hastings --------------Duncan-------------------- Cowie--------Black-------Wilson ---------------Imrie------------- ---------------Rooney---------- Cowie and Wilson to push on. Imrie pretty much a free role. Sutherland probably replacing the tiring Wilson.

Striker
Of course, Barrowman rejected County rather than the other way around. And I'm sure we're all grateful for that (actually I think Barrowman needs to play either alongside a target man or with two wide players, so I'm not actually that critical of him)

Paul Ince
Ince was known for his arrogance long before the Celtic match. He even came up with his own nickname of "the Guvn'r", which he put on the back of his training suit. Everyone just called him 'Ince-y'.

SPL think tank
I would imagine Brew would be pressing pretty heavily for a 16 team league. Starting this season!
-
A Little Christmas Game for you
My guess would be: George Fraser - Chairman Graeme Bennett - Director of Football Sandy Catto - Director David Cameron - Director Ken Mackie - Director Ian MacDonald - Company Secretary (although that's disputed) What do I win?

A Little Christmas Game for you
Isn't Iggy Pop the chairman of the bored? Must mean us?

SPL think tank
In my mind is that girl from Monsoon and Grange Hill that sang 'Ever So Lonely'...(obscure, maybe but rather that than Yogi Hughes bleeeuuuch)

SFA Chief wants football shakeup
A 2 team top league.

Barry Wilson (Merged)
Well, Sutherland's not been given a chance so far. I would have thought if he was under serious consideration, then he would have got a game earlier in the season. Basically, we're losing someone who can turn a game and who has looked good when on. Unless we're getting in a replacement, then turning to someone that has only IIRC made one appearance this season, just isn't good enough.

Barry Wilson (Merged)
No room for sentiment. He should stay another 6 months for what he can do on the park in the last half an hour. Not a 90 minute player anymore but too important to us to let go. Anyone else feel we're trimming down just in case we get relegated. Just seems the sort of thing that would happen with our board. Bet we're not looking to replace him.

The Pro Brewster Thread
I'm not a fan of Brew by any means but this thread is dominated by anti-Brew comments. How about the rest of us at least limit our criticisms to a max of one response to a pro comment? Otherwise the thread's pointless.
