  1. I know he believes he's got the time to rebuild but so did Roy Aitken at the Dons, Levein at Leicester, Mowbray at Celtic etc etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go. Football's not about next season (despite the delusions of some Celtic fans). Calderwood took them from relegation candidates to Europe. When he left they went back to relegation candidates. What's the connection? It doesn't help that McGhee is slagging off his players every chance he gets. Who'd be desperate to play for a manager that publicly says he'll be getting rid of most and that they are not any good anyway?
  2. I want a Raith v Ross C Cup Final. That'll put the wind up the SPL.
  3. And next season it's gone. Bet ICT fans won't be talking about an away win in the First Division at Queen of the South in 60 years. They would still talk of a Scottish Cup win though.
  4. Brilliant interview from Neil Lennon saying that the Celtic team needs massive surgery, there's no fight or will to win and simply not good enough.
  5. Here's one. As I said on another thread, I was a St Mirren fan before ICT. 1987 was a far bigger result and more talked about than any promotion or stay in the SPL.
  6. I was thinking this myself. Just how bad is it with Celtic running away (pretty much) with 2nd place. I know there's been an odd challenge from DU and Hibs but Celtic still have got it to lose.
  7. The latter for me. I was a St Mirren fan before ICT. Even though Saints were a long time in the top half of the SPL (as is), it's 1987 that gets talked about.
  8. I don't know why Celtic didn't play more attacking and have Fortune, Crosas and Brown on. What? They were?!?!
  9. As the Dubai commentator said: FINISH! FINISH! FINISH!
  10. Off the post from an open goal! Is it County's day or Samaras as usual?
  11. Terrific shot from Brittain! If we go up and do our usual Ross County signing - he should be the one.
  12. Brilliant that from Gardyne there.
  13. As the Dubai commentator said: GGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
  14. Fortune makes Samaras look like a workaholic. Surprised Rasmussen isn't getting more of a chance. I thought he looked like one of Mowbray's better signings. Gah, I forgot...he doesn't play the Celtic way!
  15. C'mon County! Hope they win the Cup. Hope they do Scottish, Highland and small team football proud. Looking pretty good at the moment too. I've always had a soft spot for County. Livi were always the hated rivals in my eye. County are more like little brothers.
  16. Started watching the Rangers/Aberdeen game. Bit boring, so turn it to the Utd match. Find out I've missed the opening two goals. Starts to calm down so switch back to Ibrox and find I've missed the goal from there. Flick back and forth between the two, watching a few minutes of the Rangers games, only to switch back and find I've missed a further two goals from Old Trafford. Five goals and I've missed them all
  17. Maybe he comes on here to discus football with other football fans To be fair, I did take my comment off almost immediately. Thought better of it in retrospect.
  18. ...um...welll...I guess it's still mathematically possible... :(
  19. Esson Proctor - Tokely - Munro - Golabek Cox - Duncan Hayes - Sanchez - Foran Rooney Subs: Allison; Bulvitis; Eagle; Odhiambo; Djebi-Zadi I was going to make a number of changes, seeing as it's away at Dumfries, where a point would be decent. I was going to go for Bully at RB (Tokely and Munro deserve a chance to make that partnership their own). Proctor (was becoming a key player in midfield, so I'd like to see him back there) and Duncan in the holding two, with Cox in the Odi/Sanchez role to provide more bite. I was going to do that, however, we've been doing so well that the team deserves to keep going. The only change is Sanchez for Odi. Sanchez skill for when everyone is fresh. Odi's pace when Queens energy levels are lacking in the second half. That would also suit us to have someone running about when our front players are tiring.
  20. I try not to comment on grammar too much but surely 'Are' not 'Is' - it is the title of the thread after all. And, yes, I think they are.
  21. Nooo Why? We're winning, so no problem taking off an attacker for a defender. 3 points for a win, no matter how many goals.
  22. How did we cheat a win against you? He probably just doesn't like Greenock and wants Inverness to win at any cost. Thanks pal!

    4-5-1

I think it's the best system for out current crop of players. Our best central midfielders are all defensive. We have no traditional left-winger, except Eagle. Foran is more of a left-sided attacking-mid-***-striker* rather than winger. We've no central attacking mid, so have to play more lightweight players in there, like Sanchez or Odi, hence the further need for two defensive mids. But that also allows that mid attacker to get up more. If we switched to 4-4-2, I don't think Foran would have the ability to play that left-mid position so effectively. He's far more a forward than midfielder or winger. I also don't think we have the passers in midfield either. Proctor, Duncan and Cox would be winning the ball but struggling after that. McBain could come in but I think his time is passed. This would be made even worse in 4-3-3. Aside from teams that we might be playing for a draw against (I know we shouldn't be doing that currently but if it comes down to us only needing a draw in a tough match - maybe then), the only change I could think of would be going to a 4-1-3-2 system. Then I'd rather Foran up front than Eric, with the left-attacking-mid being taken up by Eagle or DZ. But, at the moment, it's stick to 4-2-3-1, especially away. *ok, then mid-come-striker - by the way is hare's-tail cotton grass out yet? Y'know, Eriopherum vaginatum? Let's see if that makes it through.
  24. I notice Proctor was becoming an essential player in midfield but the criticism has been steadily increasing since going to right back. For me, we sign up Proc, Cox and Duncan for that defensive mid. I'd give Tokely and Munro their chance of a longer term partnership and buy in a right back. If we can get Mihadjuks, then it's a three-way battle for that central defensive slot. That means then two quality full backs, with a variety of fill-ins for right-back when needed and Golly and Shinnie in reserve at left-back. Hayes, Foran and Rooney in attack but desperately need an attacking central midfielder. If Falkirk go down, then Arfield would be perfect but I think he should be aiming a lot higher. Maybe team-mate Burton O'Brien go do it. A huge talent who's lost his way - it's the old story for ICT! Ross should get a few more chances hopefully. I'd keep Eagle as he's still a young lad. Sanchez as well could do it against some of the better quality teams as he gets more space but can't see Eric getting in there. Controversial I know, but I'd look at Rory McAllister. He's still a young lad, so let's see if he's actually improved with a run in the team, or has he just found his level. Tade's been getting a fair bit of press in his matches, so he may be another one to scout.
  25. He's definitely started a couple of matches but was considered rank rotten by the management. I believe one time, he was taken off at half time, the other, he didn't even last that long. Maybe that could be good news for us as he's highly unlikely to get a new contract from them?
