  1. Couldn't have gone a bit earlier could you :D
  2. Oh yeah, Barrowboy scores now! grrrr!
  3. What the...?
  4. Really? I hadn't been following the story that much (tried to avoid it TBH but it's impossible) but that changes everything.
  5. Then why hasn't the club paid all his signing on fee, which isn't even dependant upon his transfer? And everything I've read and heard says the exact opposite. The club instigated his leaving and Marius chose which club. the arranger organises. The instigator starts. No reason why they both must be the same.
  6. Very different scenario to Boyd, Weir etc. Bridge comes out with a lot of dignity, whilst Terry looks more and more shameful. I actually think Bridge would be more missed than Terry. With Cole injured, who will be LB? Baines? Warnock? Not a great choice. But there are a few decent English centre-backs around.
  7. I agree. Sanchez is really a forward. Cox is really a defensive mid. It's a definite weak point. I'm hoping Cox will shake them up enough for Sanchez to work a few tricks in the second half.
  8. Pretty much the same as it was, except that attacking centre mid position is a real trouble. A huge gap that' never been filled since both Black and Vigurs left. So, I'm going to push Cox further forward and see what he can do. Sanchez probably on there in the second half. Esson Tokely - Munro - Bully - Golly Duncan - Proctor Hayes - Cox - Foran Rooney
  9. I am joking. Just a bit of fun with a few might haves.
  10. How about this for a Scotland alternative team, give or take a few months in someone's case, or change of allegiance in another: McGregor Broadfoot - Weir - McManus - Fox McCarthy - Ferguson - Stewart - Driver Riordan - McCormack I don't think there's much to choose between the teams.
  11. Small changes could make a big difference - especially where kids are concerned. It's one thing telling an adult what he can and can't eat. Quite another promoting addictive, dangerous foods to kids. But low-fat chips, wholemeal rolls instead of white low-fibre, sugared bread, lower fat meats with added vegetable protein, less sugar in products etc etc. A huge health benefit for little (actually, I'd say no) sacrifice.
  12. Not quite the only explanation there...dust, insects, camera problems, pollen. Wouldn't give orbs any credence.
  13. I thought Kenneth was terrific against Celtic. Best defender on the park. I'd certainly would have had Riordan in my team. And Ross McCormack. I know he had an injury and is now playing on the wing but he was terrific for Scotland. I do think this is one of the weakest Scotland squads I have ever seen.
  14. Anyone hear the interview with McGhee before the game? "The fans aren't doing their bit." As if they can be blamed for not beating Raith over two games, the latter at Pittodrie on a weekday. I remember him doing the same at Motherwell. Can't say I'll miss McGhee if he goes. If he does, they should look to the Killie manager. He's doing pretty well.
  15. I find the winter olympics (I'm struggling to find a channel to watch it on) strangely relaxing. Even when they're hurtling down like a speedcar, there's just something bizarrely calming about it. Maybe because I have so little interest in the actual result.
  16. Which player hasn't occasionally had a bad game. I also think DZ would do better in left midfield. I don't think he's ever going to be great, no matter where he goes mind you (needs to be able to deliver the ball better), so better as opposed to left-back but not necessarily the best choice. Mind you, in a straight 4-4-2? Foran's up front, so that leaves McBain or Eagle. Actually, he might well be the best choice in that system (but I wouldn't choose that system).
  17. How I wish Killie were playing Aberdeen on Saturday. Sadly not.
  18. So someone doesn't like their taxes going to people who don't need it. Pfft! Who does? I'll bet he gets annoyed by MPs claiming expenses fraudulently. Know anyone that's happy about it (other than the MPs)? He probably also thinks, like, y'know, bad stuff an 'at is just like, y'know, seriously uncool! Here's another story he might like to print: puppies and kittens are cute! It's probably more controversial. At least some people don't like animals.
  19. Who's going to offer Butcher and Malpas all these lucrative jobs? His CV (though, I'd argue not always his fault) at first glance looks poor. Even at ICT it looks like he got a team relegated (but I don't blame him) and didn't bring them back up. I doubt he'd get an SPL job or major English job, so an SFL1 top club must sound a fairly good proposition.
  20. Big matches next week. If Partick can take at least a point from Dundee and Ross County don't pick up full points away at Greenock, then a nice 3 points at home to QoS can make it interesting.
  21. Spoke too soon :)
  22. Just desperately need Ross County NOT to score. Then it gets way more exciting than I could have expected a month ago.
  23. Yes! (anti-OF, rather than pro-Dons or Gers) 8 goal thriller and a red card. Beat that! Aberdeen should also have had a penalty for blocking a Dons striker through on goal. Actually, Steve McLean has done really well in the match. Could be a diamond in the rough. Mowbray is rank. I said that when he first joined (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/blog.php?b=6460 on the 27th August) and have been proven right.
  24. Spoke too soon. Celtic's lousy defence mean the Dons score. 2-2 - come on the Dandies! No doubt it's still Gary Caldwell's fault - last year's POTS to a dunderheid. Their captain to a liability in McManus. A relegated manager to someone that can put a defence together.
