  1. Why did nobody just phone/radio ahead and have the police meet them off the train!!!
  2. Starting to wish this topic had self-destructed when it got to page 25.
  3. Don't see how you can blame Terry for wasting your time....not unless you are so arrogant as to think that it was a foregone conclusion that Terry would up sticks and leave for Barnsley!!! It's your board who approached a Manager who was already in a job...and flying high. If you want to apportion blame for wasted time, then look to your Directors as they are the ones who seem to have totally misjudged the situation and spent 3 days chasing the man who ultimately could not be convinced to leave his existing job. Maybe Barnsley need to take a look at how ICT conduct themselves in these things. Any time we've been looking for a new manager you get ZERO from the club until the deal is done. They've done exactly the same in this situation...made the statement that they gave Terry permission to speak to Barnsley and then kept schtum until the decision was finalised. That can be as frustrating as hell for us, the fans, but ultimately you aren't left with egg on your face....and you can often pursue more than one target without it ending up like you were left settling for 2nd, 3rd choices or whatever. Barnsley are the ones that took the gamble....and lost.....so I fail to see how you can point the finger of blame at anyone else. P.S. Terry was out taking a nice relaxing walk with his dog as the news broke...so all is well.
  4. Have to admit, I am just a little bit disappointed that I didn't get to try THIS out
  5. Surely the best judge of whether it has been good/bad is the reaction to the decision? Look around you and your fears will be dispelled.
  6. Had he been off talking to a St Johnstone, Aberdeen, Motherwell or something then you might have a point. However, for me, this has been far from unsettling, the total opposite in fact. We've just had our Manager get an offer from a club who could offer him many times the salary he could ever get here and a player budget that could fund half the SPL. I don't know of any Manager who wouldn't have had their head turned by such an offer. Despite all that he chose ICT!!! We've just had more publicity than money could buy and the message at the end of it is....ICT don't have much, but they must be something really special if a man like Terry Butcher would rather be there on less money and with a smaller budget. Terry has just done more in two days to help shake of the "small town backwater" tag that is often applied to us than anything else that has happened in the last 19 years. The message he has just given the players is exactly the same...."lads, it's ok to look but its not all about the money, there's things to be earned here that money cannot buy".
  7. Not so many fears on that front since the "hands off" notice was included in the official announcement..... "He met ICT chairman Kenny Cameron and indicated that he was committed to seeing out his contract with the club."
  8. Is this where I get to say "told you so"?
  9. Stole it and hooked a few on Twitter as well...
  10. You can't have had too many calls then!!!
  11. If Northstand has been in touch with Terry, then it's more likely he's not taking the job because he's dropped dead!!!
  12. Personally, I'm at the point where I'm happy to see something happening, even if it is not my preferred option. The one thing everyone seem to agree on was that change was needed...we just couldn't get a consensus on what that should be. So better some kind of change than no change at all...and this is certainly not the worst option which would have been a 10 team top league.
  13. He kindly give me a tenner and a good recommendation for a chipper....so all is good.
  14. I've just dropped his dog back to him....that should tell you everything. To give him one last moment with it before you cover it in ketchup What kind of backwards hole is Barnsley where they have Ketchup on their dog!!! Everyone knows that Dog is a brown sauce kinda meat.
  15. I've just dropped his dog back to him....that should tell you everything. What form was the dog in? A little nervous as we left the house through the kitchen, but it's returned fully intact with no bite marks.
  16. I've just dropped his dog back to him....that should tell you everything.
  17. Didn't they anounce that before even meeting Butcher? Not from the chain of events/information I have been following. Was definitely at some point yesterday that Rowing told the press Flitcroft would be in charge for Saturday. Late last night....after having talked to Butcher.
  18. Didn't they anounce that before even meeting Butcher? Not from the chain of events/information I have been following.
  19. Barnsley have already named a caretaker manager for their game on Saturday.
  20. Gawdddddd.....I thought I could get away from most of the Twitter shite by coming on here. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Terry was just a bit bored with the Winter Break and thought this would help pass the time....he's not going anywhere.
  22. Allegedly...
