  1. Nobody has said the word "Gypsy" is banned....the statement says... As for the rest of your post....personally, I don't give two hoots what The Rangers might or might not tell their fans ahead of games and I'd rather we had no aspirations to operate or conduct ourselves the way they do in any way, shape or form.
  2. You can get full live coverage via MFR2 on Digital Radio or online at http://radioplayertwo.mfr.co.uk/ (and very good it is too) SPL/SFA can hardly be blamed if a fixture is postponed and there's no space in the broadcasters schedule to accommodate the rearranged date.
  3. The police are not actively looking to arrest anyone and no "threats" of arresting anyone were made during the meeting. Things went exactly as per the statement we issued. We raised our concerns and asked our questions, the police explained where the issue lay and outlined the reasons why. Not going to get drawn on providing any list of words as there's always someone (I can be that kind of someone myself) who will then play the "That word wasn't on your list" defence....but PERSONALLY I imagine that you would risk falling foul of the law if you were to be singing/chanting "Gypsy B*stard"
  4. The plan is to have the Sports Bar at the stadium open throughout the game, so you won't have far to wander for a drink (as the Sports Bar had heating fitted a wee while back, it should also be warm...the bar, not the drink)
  5. It's phrases of that ilk which the police want fans to avoid as they might be construed by those not familiar with the local banter/rivalry as "hate related". Not an unreasonable request (in my personal opinion). As gordie says...the discussions with the police were primarily to seek clarification on what exactly the issue was surrounding certain songs/chants. Hopefully we've done that and can answer any further questions which might arise....as well as having a working relationship with the police that allows us to deal with such things more efficiently and pro-actively in future. The law on "pyrotechnics" is clear and there should be no uncertainty in the fact that they are a banned item. Our discussions on this were fairly brief....police asked us to remind fans of the law and we agreed.
  6. Representatives of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, Northern Constabulary and Caley Jags Together held an amicable and productive meeting today (Tuesday) to discuss the implications of the statement released prior to the scheduled fixture in January with regard to offensive chanting. Full Statement can be found by clicking here
  7. Actually....they quite possibly are!!!
  8. Meeting took place yesterday and a statement from CJT is imminent.
  9. They tend to be more concious of pitches in these games by doing things like moving scrums so they're not on the same spot all the time etc. They also provide a lot of help with pitch repairs etc afterwards to ensure they are, as much as possible, back to the state in which they were handed over to them. Having spoken to those involved with the last couple of rugby matches we've hosted, they full appreciate and respect the facilities provided (not just the pitch) and sizeable portions of their budget and resources are ring-fenced for taking care of them. Hopefully I'm not tempting fate, but we seem to have a pitch which stands up a lot better than some others to hosting the odd game of rugby and it's never caused any major issues in the past.
  10. Scotland’s best rugby talent returns to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in Inverness when Scotland U20s face Wales U20 on Friday 8 March (7.35pm kick off). Full Details by CLICKING HERE
  11. They didn't find any horse meat when they tested the pies...they also didn't find any beef and/or lamb.
  12. I'd like to think that those who were planning going and willing/able to pay full price would continue to do so and that the offer would only be used to bring along new faces. Otherwise the club is just losing out on revenue. A bit idealistic I know....but I like to try and think the best of people!!!
  13. Meekings was signed as a right back, it was only due to injury that he was moved into the middle....and long may it continue.
  14. I'm still not happy about the inclusion of LDZ and demand an investigation.
  15. Looks like you might have missed the news on that one....he no longer plays for ICT!!!
  16. 4 Wins and 2 Draws from the 6 remaining before the split...that's my prediction.
  17. Roberts last week, Sutherland this week....who's turn next week? From other comments, I agree with OCG...yesterday felt like we were solidly back into the situation where we were always going to score more than them. I think we also looked as composed as we ever have in the final throws of the game, which have tended to contribute to some of the nerviest moments this season. I certainly didn't find myself clock watching and praying for the whistle.
  18. It's true what they say....some people are never happy!!!
  19. Having witnessed first hand exactly what he said, and how he said it, I'm happy enough to go out on a limb and say there's is absolutely nothing in claims that TB is interested in the job.
  20. Having seen Warren and Devine "own" Ngoo, Sproule will not pose any problems for us.
  21. I don't think Warren was finding space at corners and set pieces by luck/chance....we seem to have set things up for exactly that scenario. Most notable at corners was Warren and Draper falling back to almost the opposite edge of the 18 yard box and then timing their runs to meet the incoming ball...and getting in front of their markers in the process. Worked well against Hearts because they use a man marking system and they seemed powerless to do anything to counter it. Will be interesting to see if we use the same tactic against teams who use zonal marking to defend set pieces. We've been notoriously weak at set pieces for years, so it's great to be able to praise the team for them.....next week "throw ins"??? lol
  22. Let's make something quite clear....TB never slated the support. He asked if Inverness deserved this team....a question I have asked myself a number of times. Unfortunately for TB his comment was twisted by some of the national press and made to look like he was having a go at the support.
  23. The ticket situation you describe has been the case for as long as I can remember for games against Rangers & Celtic. It's also not unique to our stadium and is the norm throughout the league for these games. I believe it's also accurate to say that this is done at the insistence of the police. The reasoning seems to be that they don't want to risk having large numbers of visiting fans without tickets being left outside the stadium where it might create a flashpoint and/or need additional policing. Having tickets available for home fans only would only create a risk of (more) visiting fans ending up in the home end....again creating additional risk of trouble. With the drop in numbers and the fact these games haven't sold out in recent years, then (personally) I'm not sure it's still necessary. However, I do know that the club are in regular discussion with the police about how matches are covered....and indeed if some matches could be police free....so they are aware and actively looking to improve things in this regard. As for running out of hot pies, this was something that used to be a regular occurrence and has much improved in the last few seasons. From the little I know about food hygiene, it doesn't seem unreasonable that they would refuse to sell cold pies. I imagine the pies are originally prepared with the intention of needing heating/final cooking and temperature probes are used during that process which indicate that they do have some kind of regulation/guidelines about what temperature the need to achieve during that process before they can be served. Given the lack of complaints about these things recently then it would appear that the problem isn't systemic at matches these days and could be chalked up under the category of "sometimes chit happens".
  24. Terry quashed these rumours during the post match press today at Tynecastle.
