I can't to be honest. Mackay is scoring for fun at the moment. He could be the difference between staying in the position we are in and the prize money for that position plus the money for getting a European spot. Wouldn't get too carried away about "profits from European Football". Returns for games in the early rounds are minimal and it's not uncommon for teams to actually lose money from their participation due to having to spend on additional items to allow them to gain the standards required for licensing etc.

IMO, Ice Hockey offers the best experience in terms of "entertainment value" of any sport I have ever watched live....both in the UK and abroad (although it's been a few years since I have been to a game here). Right up there with the most violent of sports, yet fans of both teams share seating with no segregation and they are actively encouraged to get carried away, jump around, stand up, cheer and all the rest of it. I witnessed people throw/spill whole cups of drinks over opposition fans and everyone just laugh it off together. All breaks (and you get plenty with televised games) are filled with entertainment of some form or other and stadiums employ people like Johndo to get in among the fans to gee them up instead of treating them like sociably unacceptable outcasts. Streamers, glitter "bombs" are given out to people and fans have no desire for smoke bombs and the like because all the pyro is laid on for them. Football could do worse than take a leaf or two out of the book on providing entertainment and value for money from Ice Hockey.

That's kinda what I was getting at...although I never really said it. Our league position and cup fortunes to date offer us the option (if need be) to be a bit tougher in our dealings with external offers....and Mckay (small k) has played a large part in that, and could in the future. If his contribution is seen as being worth a couple of league places and/or a couple of extra cup games then that can easily be £500k value per year right there....factor in the cost of a replacement and the risk of them not performing to the same level and you're looking at the possibility of another substantial 6 figure addition to that. Gut feeling....Mckay will sing another year with us.
  5. I believe there will be an announcement tomorrow about tickets being available on the day (I guess it depends on what is sold to that point). However, you could purchase them over the phone and ask for them to be made available for collection at Easter Road.

I think a few people are selling the club short in terms of what they think they would accept. ICT (especially Terry) know only too well what he is really worth in terms of what he does and will continue to contribute to the team....I therefore don't think we'd welcome anything less than a 7 figure offer at this point in time.
  7. Can't condone what Hazard did in the slightest....however when I was a lad if I'd acted like that ball boy did then I would have been expecting a wee bit of a tussle and then when I got back inside I would have been expecting a clout around the lug for being a wee idiot and then a boot up the erse from my old man when I got home for showing myself up on the tv. Maybe after all that someone would have taken Hazard aside and point out how naive and stupid he was to get involved in a situation like that....but I certainly wouldn't expect him to have the book thrown at him. He got his red card and the suspension that goes with it...maybe increase that a bit to make a statement, but no need to hang him out to dry.
  8. Little things like this crop up at press conferences and stuff all the time...we've got a nice wee catalogue of "out-takes" from ICT, some of which will be put out...maybe...someday...possibly need to wait for player/manager retirement for a few of them
  9. Hibs have decided that they will NOT be opening the "Behind the Goals" bar on Saturday as the majority of fans have made alternative arrangements.
  10. Been happening for as long as I can remember....and most don't actually leave the ground until the final whistle, they just migrate to that lower corner ready for a sharp exit. Another one of those things where I've very much of the opinion that if it's doing you no harm personally, then why get your knickers in a twist over it.

He was waxing lyrical about how great life was in Vancouver when he was on Sportscene the other week....so not sure how accurate the "not settled" excuse holds water. Although, in saying that, he's hardly likely to come on saying how crap life is and that he's looking for an out!!! He also talks about coming back to move into the next chapter of his career and that might suggest he has something lined up...possibly a player/coach role somewhere? Lots of reports stating he didn't have the pace to hack it in MLS, and given that was one of his biggest assets then it throws up the question of what level he could still compete at over here. Certainly don't think he'll be commanding the £7500 a week he was on with the Whitecaps at any level here. My bets would be on him doing a season or two with someone down south before moving into coaching...something I think he's talked about wanting to do previously.
  12. Getting the clap going round at football isn't such a problem in this day and age with all seater stadia ensuring people are hygienically spaced.
  13. As OCG says, Hibs have very little parking...certainly don't think they have any fan parking as such.
  14. If you call having the ball hit straight at you a save....then aye!!!!
  15. There's no "one product fits all" with these things...and the great thing about Social Media is you can take it or leave it...if it's not for you, then leave it. If these guys want to try and organise some kind of mass fan participation, then good on them. Maybe they were a little naive to think that everyone watched their FB/Twitter and would know about it....but we all live and learn, and in future if they want to do something then they should be sharing it wider (on here, asking the club or Caley Jags Together to get involved in spreading the word etc). When all is said and done, we're all ICT fans and none of us deliberately does anything we think might do harm or create extra work (I hope) for the club. This season has all been about "Togetherness" and whilst nobody needs to embrace anything they don't like, at least try and accept that just because something is not for you, does not mean it's not for others.....a bit of "live and let live" I guess.
  16. If there's tickets still available then I would imagine they'd be for sale on the day.
  17. Good idea, poorly executed....lesson for future is to make sure the word is spread properly.
  18. We're looking to add a couple of people to the ICT Media Team in order to assist with stuff on match days...both home and away. We do have non-matchday duties, but your participation in/assistance with these would fall entirely to availability. At the moment we're looking to add..... Camera Operator - You don't have to be a professional but some experience of pointing a video camera in the right direction would be useful. You will primarily be involved in the videoing of matches, but we are looking to expand our matchday activities and do more regular interviews with fans etc as well. Depending on the level of commitment people are able to give, we may look to add more than one person and share the responsibility. All equipment is provided. Live Text Commentator - Due to commitment to so many things, provision of live text updates via Twitter (at present) has been a bit hit or miss. We'd therefore like to add to the team at least one person, but again it is something we could share depending on commitment people could give. All you need is the ability to sum up ongoing match activity concisely and effectively. Equipment can be provided on matchdays (laptop or tablet), but if you have and prefer to use your own then that's fine. Matchday Announcer - Looking for someone to share and/or take over the duties of the matchday announcer....or to help expand the position into a dual role so we can get back to having someone pitch-side who can be a bit more "interactive" and assist with stuff which would improve the matchday experience for the fans in the stands. Some experience in a connected/similar type job would be desirable due to the nature of the position, but guidance and training can be given where needed. The ICT Media Team is made up entirely of fan volunteers, so no payment (with the possible exception of the announcers role). However you do get free access to the game and if you are travelling to away games then travel arrangements are made for free. We would be particularly interested in working with/helping anyone who might be studying towards a qualification in a connected subject and the opportunity may exist for us to extend your involvement to assist further with that. The craic is good and we have a lot of laughs, but the Media Team exists to help the club fulfil it's media obligations to TV/Radio/Internet partners etc, so a certain level of maturity, professionalism and...above all else...trustworthiness is expected. If you are interested, then drop me an e.mail on [email protected] and we'll take it from there.
  19. BBC website reporting it as 4734. Much improved! Only improved because of away support! they must have had 1600-1800 fans there today, do your arithmetic and work out that we are still not getting our fans into the stadium, feckin cold mind! but even though we were brilliant in the second half ! smug face is on for sure! By my reckoning, home support was up by about 300 or 400 on recent games..
  20. Had no trouble in hearing the ICT fans today!!!
  21. BBC website reporting it as 4734. Much improved! Aberdeen probably brought 1,700 so if anything it was still the same from an ICT point of view i.e. very poor. Aberdeen had fewer than 1500.

  23. Why? Whats different from any person in normal world looking to change job and working either an extended notice period or if self employed/contractor having something else lined up befor etheir contract runs out? Everyone has bills to pay and needs to do what is best for them, their career and personal circumstances. Whatever AS chooses, I hope its the right decission for HIM. No issues from me what he decides, all I see is a profesional, hardworking young player without some of the attitude that others in his profession show. Wasn't having a pop at AS (or any other player) specifically. Nor was I denying them the right to do what is best for themselves in looking at moves elsewhere....I just don't like the whole concept of the PCA, especially where it can involve moving to a direct competitor. That's not the players fault, it's the system that allows it. I touch on my thoughts on it during the MFR ICT Fanzone Podcast this week - http://www.mfr.co.uk/fanzone
  24. Any player for any club who signs a PCA should be burned at the stake. Fecking hate the whole idea of the things....right up there with my thoughts on agents.
