  1. You're right, the club have clearly made an error with the Senior Concession price with the North Stand and it should be closer to the ?240/?250 price range. I'll bring it to their attention. Really is that the best you can do .You may well be one of these seniors yourself one day. Oh and by the way I am aware that actually you have as much say in it as I have but perhaps a member of the club will eventually come out and explain their reasoning. My tongue in cheek comment was intended to point out that the situation can be spun in two different directions. Whilst you find it ridiculous that it costs ?110 more to sit in the Main Stand, others will find it pretty good value that they can get a seat in the North Stand for ?110 less.....it's the old cup half full/empty situation. If you can't afford/aren't willing to pay the price for one stand, then you get a ticket for the other. Just like every other group, you have the choice and some might say that the disproportionately generous rates for the North Stand for Seniors is actually favourable treatment. ICT have only existed since 1994....so whilst I agree that many of the seniors effected will have been loyal supporters for years, so will just about every other group from the age of about 32 onwards. None of these groups expects/gets such favourable rates for the Main Stand as Seniors have (until now)....so perhaps the club are just redressing an imbalance that has existed for longer than it perhaps should have. Sorry you were unable to see the point I was trying to make Caley D .I rest my case . I know exactly the point you were trying to make, but it get's a little tiresome trotting out the "we're not an official communication portal to the club and you should raise your issue with them directly" line all the time. The club do pick up on things raised here and where it's a situation that effects a large section of the support they will give us a statement to pass on, but it would folly to expect them to do that for every little point and for individual complaints and/or issues.
  2. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Seniors should not get a discount, I'm just saying that it needs to be proportionate and within reason....and I think the tickets on offer for next season provide that despite the increase and change in age. In regards the change in age, those who have loyally supported ICT (and clubs previous) for many years will not be effected as they will already be Senior Season Ticket holders and the club is continuing to honour the Senior Price for them even if they have not yet turned 65. I don't buy into the theory that all Seniors are loaded either, and the truth is that they probably fall into a category of "earner" that is more polarised than most in terms of disposable income. If they are unfortunate in falling into the lower end of that category then they can get a very good price in the Main Stand....a price that is disproportionately cheaper than the option available to all other groups (with the exception of free U12 tickets in Family Section). It could be argued that the additional gap in the pricing reflects the polarised nature of the earnings group. Whatever the reason, I don't see anyone objecting to it...and nor should they. On the flip side of that, I know there's a lot of people in the Senior bracket who are still working but happy enough to take the discount without complaint. Your government analogy doesn't really hold true as they too are in the process of phasing in higher age qualification criteria for Senior services and benefits. In fact, it probably serves to add more weight to the shift in policy by the club than it does to argue against it.
  3. The dedication that goes in to producing statistics to such a level is phenomenal and his retirement from the roll will certainly be missed. CTO are on his mailing list and his stats are regularly referred to for information when it comes to producing previews/reports and making sure the sites stats are accurate...in fact, the stats that we make available in the sites stats section have in large part been built from the information he provides. He'd be the man to have on your team for any ICT round in the pub quiz, that's for sure.
  4. Following a meeting with a selection of the fans from the North Stand Section “G”, an area that has become the unofficial signing section it has been decided to create an area specifically for this purpose. Any fan wishing to join the “new singing section” please note this will now be located in the North Stand Section E due to the close proximity of the current area being utilised, Section “G”, to the existing “Family Section”. It is hoped that the transition from Section “G” will run as smoothly as possible and any current season ticket holders wishing to relocate their seats from either Section “G” or “E” will be accommodated wherever possible by the ticket office staff when rebooking their seats. Kenny Cameron Operations Director at the Club commented “the Club and Supporters Trust met with a selection of the supporters from Section “E” to discuss the options of moving the singing section away from the existing family section and it was decided that an area within Section “E” would be the most appropriate area to relocate to. The support in Section “E” and the fan base in general has been increasing year on year and it was time to set up a separate area for fans wishing to enjoy the “craic & banter” that goes hand in hand with the singing section. Terry Butcher stated “we are all delighted at the support this year from all areas of the ground and the fans have been a magnificent addition to the playing staff. We wish to continue this trend and with the fans as 12th man make Tulloch Caledonian Stadium a fortress where away teams fear to tread. The setting up of an official singing section should add to the noise and atmosphere on match days so please feel free to join in next season as we continue the journey”. Peter Murphy of the Supporters Trust stated “this is something that was brought up at one of our meetings and we approached the Club who were most accommodating. Following our initial approach we set up a meeting with a few of the supporters, the Trust and the Club to discuss the way forward and are delighted to say we are fully supportive of this fantastic new initiative for the fans”.
  5. I think we can all sometimes be guilty of taking it for granted that these things just happen without appreciating the work put in to it, and it should be us who are thanking you and the others who organise all these events.

  7. I was actually thinking about this tonight. We seem to have been a good omen for Munro over the years, so perhaps we can pass that on to one of the new young lads that have just signed.
  8. Full Time...and freezing cold, am off for a cuppa.
  9. Doran free kick to Tokely knocked across goal. Polwarth kitted and ready to come on for Rooney
  10. Doran coming on for Nick Ross who gets a huge standing ovation from the crowd as he leaves the pitch
  11. Sanchez on for Sutherland

  13. Inverness Caledonian Thistle are looking to the future with the signing of eight young stars on professional contracts."We're a small club with big ambitions", manager Terry Butcher told parents at the signing session at the Stadium. "These eight youngsters join our full-time playing staff and will play for our under-19 team next season but hopefully two or three can make such rapid progress that they make their breakthrough in to the first team in the future." One of the eight is 16 year old Ryan Christie, son of former Caley Thistle favourite Charlie Christie, now a youth coach at the club. He is one of five recruits from Inverness , the others being Andrew Skinner (16), Ryan Watson, Stephen Mackenzie and Matthew Murphy, all aged 17. Harry Stewart, aged 17, from Aberdeen was formerly on the books at Dundee United while 16 year old Kevin Buchan from Dundee had a spell at Dens Park. Marc Noble, aged 17, from Fraserburgh, is a product of Fraserbugh FC's youth system. "Liam Polworth has come from the under-19s structure to figure on the bench this season", said Terry Butcher, "while I'm asking the eight new boys to focus on the superb progress made by Nick Ross, Gavin Morrison, Shane Sutherland and Graeme Shinnie, all of whom have come from the under-19s through to make a first team impact this season. It's good for the long-term future of this club to have locally-developed talent coming through. "It's been very hard in the past couple of weeks to say goodbye to 10 of our first team squad plus five or six from our under-19s. But this frees up space for others to stake their claim, if they're good enough. A new world of opportunity awaits these lads when we begin training on June 20. They'll have to work very hard, but they have already done so with us in getting to the stage of being awarded contracts. The examples of the lads who have made their way to the first team squad should inspire them."
  14. http://caleythistleonline.com/4111-contracts-for-8-young-stars Very encouraging to see that our youth setup continues to produce players worthy of pro contracts....long may it continue.
  15. We can't climb or lose any places...so that argument don't hold water.
  16. Was hoping it would be St Mirren, but kinda glad it's been decided tonight and we'll not be subjected to any conspiracy theories if we had a hand in it on the final day.
  17. I've been saying all along that my gut feeling is that Rooney will sign another contract and be with ICT next season....nothing has changed in that regard.

  19. CaleyD replied to Joonya's topic in Caley Thistle
Unless "luck" involves the match being postponed 24 hours then it's not going to do them much good on this one. Sheer determination and the ability to ignore the pain is what they are going to need. I probably know these guys about as well as they know themselves and failure won't be an option, even if they have to crawl to the end. Best we can hope for them is that the conditions stay favourable and the blisters are kind.
  20. From what I can see the only real increase is the Concession/Student price for this area which have been brought into line with the rest of the North Stand and the introduction of the first child (U12) price which I assume is to stop the rampant abuse that was taking place where people were signing up with mystery kids that never seemed to come along to games. A concession/student is unlikely to have a child U12 so any genuine cases will be in the minority and ?30 for the first U12 is still a steal, as is ?80 for a 12 to 16 year old. You're not going to please everyone and you will also have minority cases that get caught up because of their unique situations...not realistic for the club to try and cater for these, but I am sure if anyone is in a truly unique situation that is heavily penalising them then if they go speak to the club they will listen.
  21. No idea why their may have been discrepancies between info there on 8th/9th....but I do know that companies sometimes catch themselves out when adding info to a website by forgetting to keep the article unpublished until they've completed it. It could very well be that they were copying over a table from a previous season and in the middle of changing it when you spotted it online. Not saying that's right, and people do need to be careful when doing these things, but it's an easy thing to do. The Over 60/65 thing I would imagine is the club bringing things in to line with everyone else and existing Seniors U65 who have a Season Ticket already will be allowed to retain it. The only people it will effect is those who turned 60 since last season who might have been expecting a cheaper ticket this season.
  22. As far back as I can check (6 years) from our own news archives, it always seems to have been that way.

  24. Prices now announced and tickets on sale (online also once they get the small tech glitch sorted out). http://caleythistleonline.com/4044-201112-season-tickets
  25. No VAT increase as Caley Jags show faith with fans This year’s Season Tickets go on sale on Monday 9th of May and we are introducing an “early bird discount” available up to and including the 30th June. Following this all seats will then go on general sale to the public. Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC will not pass on the VAT increase to supporters in the club's season tickets next season -- and the majority season ticket holders will pay the same as last year (pre the 1st Division loyalty discount) if they buy by June 30 2011. Operations Director Kenny Cameron said: " Some 90 per cent of our fans will have the opportunity to pay at last year's base price, minus the one-off loyalty bonus we gave to our First Division season ticket holders. "By also deciding to absorb the VAT increase, we feel we are giving tremendous value to our supporters. Running an SPL club is extremely expensive but we feel that, in the current economic environment, it would be unfair to pass on the VAT and other extra costs to our fans. "Terry, Maurice and the players have done superbly well this season, just missing out on a top six place, and early season ticket income is crucial to the football budget and cash flow at the Club." He added that, to address certain situations which had arisen this season, students must be able to show accreditation that they are in full-time education or will be for the 2011-12 academic year and that the senior citizens eligibility was rising from 60 to 65 in line with the majority of other SPL Club’s. Senior Citizens already in the system would remain eligible and the new rule only applies to new applicants. It is also the intention this coming season to continue utilising the uncovered West Stand for Schools and any other organisation such as Boys Brigade, Scouts, Sports Clubs etc who will be given free tickets on application to the Ticket Office (excluding Old Firm games). This has proven to be a very popular initiative with the youngsters so get your applications in early for this year. Season tickets for disabled supporters will be charged at a fee set by CLAN, the club's newly formed Disabled Supporters Club. All disabled fans are urged to join CLAN and all the revenue generated by this will be utilised to upgrade the facilities within the Stadium for disabled fans. Terry Butcher added “We are so grateful for the fantastic support given to myself Maurice and players not only this season but also last year. It is such a boost for us all to hear our fans singing and chanting at both home and away games. We are moving forward both on and off the field and together we can make history for our wonderful football club”. As last year if you wish to book on line (please note this service is not available for seating changes, only renewals for existing seats) please log on to www.mfr.co.uk and follow the simple steps to renew your season ticket, using the following client reference: 21820. Alternatively if you would like to speak to an ICTFC representative please call the season ticket hotline on 08448471888 and they will be happy to either guide you through registering process online or arrange payment from you direct, this hotline will be available 24 hours per day. Both our web site, www.ictfc.co.uk and our ICTFC reps will give full details of this year’s pricing structures, which we are pleased to announce, are in general terms (barring one or two categories) in line with last year’s prices pre the 10% 1st Division loyalty discount. Following payment your season ticket will be sent to direct from the Club prior to the commencement of the season. Please note you are all welcome to come by the Stadium to renew your tickets if you so wish. **NOTE - A temporary issue with Ticketmaster is preventing on line sales, anyone wishing to purchase season tickets at the moment is welcome to do so in person at the Stadium. It is hoped this issue will be resolved soon, but unfortunately it is out of the clubs hands** Season Ticket Type 2011/12 Prices Early Bird Prices (Buy before 30th June) MAIN STAND Adult £370 £350 Concession £300 £270 Student £260 £250 Junior £150 £140 NORTH STAND Adult £320 £300 Concession £190 £170 Student £180 £170 Junior £100 £90 Centenary Junior £95 £85 FAMILY SECTION Adult £250 £240 Concession £190 £170 Student £180 £170 Junior £90 £80 Centenary Junior £85 £75 Under 12 £40 £30 2nd Child (U 12) Free Free Season Ticket Type Eligibility Criteria MAIN & NORTH STANDS Senior Citizen Senior Citizen- DOB on or before 30 June 1946 or existing Senior Citizen ticket holder in 2010/2011 Student Student - In full time school, college or university education (academic year 2011/12).
