  1. I hope that is the case. But I do remember Dundee United trying to buy a medal for Darren Dods after they'd beaten County in that final a few years ago. I think he'd played in every round but missed the final through injury - however, the SFA refused!
  2. Had a look at their line-up and the 14 players used, with their total caps this season. The only guy to start a league game was Maybury, but his last appearance in the first team was in November. I'm surprised they didn't take the opportunity to play some first-team guys...I doubt any of these players will feature against us. Possibly keeping their 'cards close to their chest'! Graham Bowman 1 Liam Rowan 3 Tony Gallagher 0 Robbie McNab 0 Conor Langton 0 Alan Maybury 9 Kyle Johnson 0 Cameron Blues 0 Chris Sneddon 0 Ryan Blair 1 Kevin O'Hara 1 Michael Martin 0 Thomas Grant 1 Paul Nash 0
  3. Final score today: Inverness CT 0-3 Falkirk Another, dismal result confirming that we have finished 17th and last, with the least goals scored and the most conceded. How concerned should we be, if at all?
  4. Trying to take a 'break' from the forum. It's cringe-worthy reading some of the tripe posted on here. By the way 'Caley fans', Raven is suspended for the Dundee United game. Thought you'd have known?
  5. It is clearly written by a kid. GGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL On the Official Club Twitter outlet - available to anybody, worldwide. "omg omg omg" You wouldn't see Aberdeen's Twitter spouting such rubbish - they don't demonstrate, or let slip any display of weakness against Celtic - why are we so clearly, demonstrably, in awe of them, betrayed by ridiculous outpourings off glee for having even scored against them!!!
  6. Ironic thread title! There are plenty Inverness fans who have never had any affiliation for either of that pair. Your casual reference of supporting Celtic but have changed to ICT suggests too much time interchanging clubs on a PC game - rather than having to literally live out the reality of supporting a wee club like us versus the sickening institution that is Celtic. The religion, bigotry, self-righteousness, and many more unmentionables, make that club one of whom nobody can be proudly associated. There is simply a HUGE cultural divide! It is inconceivable to me that one day, you support Celtic, but the next, Caley Thistle!
  7. Quality player. Would have been a mainstay in our team but for injury and our settled formation. Given game-time, he'll be an asset to any team - but I can understand him wanting to move on. However, he was happy to sign for two-years and is contracted until the end of next season, so we should keep him. Isn't that what contracts are for?! He's hardly a peripheral member of the squad.....
  8. Ryan Christie thread number 17.
  9. I didn't realise Denayer was so young! But, yes - Christie for me!
  10. Quality rant from KingBeastie! Banning you for that would be harsh...perhaps a suspension from commenting on the Cup Final?!
  11. It's so easy to 'overlook' these things with all that's going on, but the attendance on Sunday was our second highest for a 'neutral' venue. Updates from currently published are in bold. 51143 vs Aberdeen (League Cup Final, Celtic Park, 16.03.14) 28643 vs Celtic (Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Hamden Park, 19.04.15) 16326 vs Hearts (League Cup Semi-Final, Easter Road, 26.01.13) 14429 vs Dundee (Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Hampden, 20.04.03) 13255 vs Dunfermline (Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Hampden, 10.04.04) 12762 vs Hearts (League Cup Semi-Final, Easter Road, 02.02.14) 8031 vs Dundee (Challenge Cup Final, McDiarmid Park, 22.11.09) 5728 vs Dunfermline (Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Pittodrie, 20.04.04 5428 vs Airdrie Utd (Challenge Cup Final, McDiarmid Park, 26.10.03)
  12. Fifteen-million hours of play and ten-million matches! Have you been hacking my database again?!
  13. I think Draper's suspended. I thought a 'die hard' like you RiG would have known! Sweet... Great photo of Josh that - not sure if that's a tattoo on his right arm or an imprint from a football... I'm sure I'm not the first person this week to zoom-in on Josh's right arm, but I could swear that tattoo reads "GIRUY"!
  14. That's not what he's been charged with though. He's been charged with denial of a (clear) goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball. The whole last man thing doesn't even exist in the laws of the game. It's one of those great footballing 'myths' that persists and is constantly spouted by the punters in the stands and the pundits in the studio! Like the "he got the ball, so it can't be a foul"! While I'm being pedantic, Alex, the English Conference to which you refer in an earlier post, stopped being called the 'Vauxhall Conference' seventeen years ago. They're actually dropping the 'conference' tag altogether from next season and (confusingly) rebranding as the 'National League' with 'National League North' and 'National League South' below.
  15. Watching Juventus v Monaco in the Champions League - will be good to see some top level refereeing - wonder who the ref is....ah, it's Willie Collum! I kid you not, as I write - 45 seconds in, the first yellow card is out!!!
  16. I may well be older, and indeed, now in the minority. However, the Scottish Cup final is a bigger deal for those of us who watched games at Telford Street, Kingsmills Park and beyond. Much of our core support are youthful and are a massive part of the club's future - they have grown-up with, and embrace 'social media'. But there's also a significant proportion who haven't. I heard about the twitter feed from the game on Radio 4 Sports desk - and believe me it was NOT complimentary! We were spoken about with disdain, and the chuckles of embarrassment were quite excruciating - and frankly, they were taking the ****. Sometimes, all publicity is not good! I doubt they'd still be calling us "little Inverness ceilidh" if we perhaps presented ourselves a bit more professionally on these 'platforms'.
  17. Sorry, but I find it quite pathetic. Clearly written by youngsters or intellectually challenged adults (and I apologise if that's the case). If I read the OUTPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTT on that 'Twitter@ feed as a GIRUP neutral, I'd imagine we were A !!!!!CHAMPIONEES!!!! hland League team......... Just had a look to see our line-up for todays game - surprise, surprise....nothing. I have friends who support other clubs and I used to try to defend our Twitter - but I've given up - it is utterly amateurish.
  18. izzy liked lizi...........
  19. Let's be honest, we will never have a better chance of winning the Scottish Cup! And, frankly, I think we will do...but, it should be noted, that Falkirk have an outstanding record against us - historically. We've become an established 'top fight' side, and have now been top-six in three consecutive years, whereas, Falkirk have recently been in the 2nd tier, but not a club unfamiliar with the old SPL. Falkirk are not a 'big club', but they are bigger than us and will have more fans there on the day. However, the current teams' form and position suggest we will be favourites. But, to diminish any thoughts of it being a formality, here are a few facts. The last time we played them - they relegated us! We've played them 3 times before in all cups - and lost the lot! Falkirk have won 7, drawn 1 and lost 1 of the last 9 games between the sides. No complacency!
  20. Totally agree about a new contract - maybe two-years? The guy is so reliable, whether starting, or off-the-bench and is a great example of how local boys can make it in the top league of Scottish football. He's only 23, yet has made around 170 appearances for his home club. Terrific ambassador, he'd certainly be our loss and some other club's gain. However, such is the fall-out of success. We're doing so well, that Nick can't get a regular game - and at 23, he needs to be looking for first-team games. From his "quotes", he appears to be willing to re-locate, which is good, as he is certainly good enough to be playing at this level, and a geographical switch to County or Elgin would be disappointing. Just wonder if European qualification could yet sway him?!
  21. Just read the thread through, and, including my own post, without the 'music in your head', it's hard to picture the songs!
  22. Took a bit longer than 10 mins - there's no reliable source (that I can find)! But, he does have a terrific record for ICT from the spot. 16 from 19 !!!
  23. I like the song Michael van Gerwen walks-on with at the darts! "Whoah, Michael van Gerwin; whoah, Michael van Gerwin..."!!! It's 'Seven Nation Army' by the White Stripes. Perhaps.....Whoah..Josh Meekings arm-hey! (by the red-and-black stripes)?!
  24. I'll certainly look at it, shortly!
  25. Although the topic heading makes little sense, there's a valid point in there. There will be little break for Hughes, the board and the management team between the end of this season and the beginning of next! It'll be only four weeks, if we're in the Europa League 1st qualifying round, but a cup win would 'buy' an extra fortnight. We've still many key players to sign-up. Busy times...
