Although those dates are correct, I jumped the gun with order of home team in the HL v LL play-off. I understand that there's to be a draw today to decide who hosts the first leg. Although, it appears that the bottom SPFL 2 side will still have the 'advantage' of playing their home leg last in the final. Crikey, the SPFL are almost as guilty as me for making stuff up as they go along!

Your whole post is totally flawed and as a result, utterly pointless. There are 650 constituency seats.

Brora will do okay financially in SPFL 2 if they get there. (disclaimer!) I have no official sources - only my own 'findings' from various internet searches. The figures being talked about are all relatively small but looked at relatively, Brora's main problem would be simply the distances they have to travel. However, Elgin is closer than many journeys they have to make in the Highland League, so effectively they're looking at a burden of 16 away trips in the season. Currently the Highland League champions get approx. £15,000 for winning it plus £17 per-point = £17,000 in a great season. The Highland League Cup only offers £2,000 to the winners (Brora, in their entire history have never even been in the final of this!), with the North of Scotland probably being £1,000 plus gate money share. Little over £20k in income for Brora. Their local sponsors will likely stick around for the increased national exposure, especially in the first season - and the novelty factor could draw interested spectators from the Sutherland area, with a catchment area that includes Dornoch, Golspie and possibly even Helmsdale. Brora would also enter the Scottish Cup a round later, automatically be included in the Challenge Cup and obviously be in the League Cup, which I understand pays £10,000 for even first round losers. The worst they could do would be to finish bottom of League Two and enter next season's play-off! Even then. they'd get £32,000 for finishing last! Plus a 'parachute payment' of £40,000 for their first season back in the Highland League, and £20,000 the following season! Competing in SPLF 2 would also have, initially, many away fans making 'a weekend of it' by travelling up. I understand much of the extra finance will go on travelling costs, but it's an adventure they surely must embrace! For me, the 'beauty' of the Pyramid System' is, that should it be a step too-far for Brora, then they won't be left stuck at the bottom of the formerly closed system and a likely 'folding' or administration 'event' would be averted, as now, if/and when a club's not good enough, they'll simply drop down and 'find their level' again. A full pyramid system, correctly managed, should ensure clubs no longer have the face the wall of insolvency - teams would simply operate at their 'correct' level. N.B. This is all presumptuous as Brora have their work-cut-out to get past Edinburgh City!

Having failed to find the net since leaving us, Toby Agdestein has been loaned-out to a club called Kristiansund, a 'tier 2' club in Norway.

Dundee United (away) today at 2pm. Apparently at Station Park, Forfar.

Hard luck, Laurence! This idea is now rightly, dead-in-the-water. We 'got away' with it for the occasion of the London 2012 Olympics, but any future GB teams are unnecessary and would seriously jeopardise the future of the individual national teams.

Inverness Thistle's record of 124 goals in a Highland League season (from 1970) has gone! Brora now have 125 after yesterday.

SPFL football...as they're already senior. (sorry - but it was like an itch that needed scratched)!

We like to shower him in praise, the way he bounces off challenges - he's like Mr Muscle!

My sympathies! It's awful when that happens. This will make you feel better - A couple of years ago my laptop started making crunching noises which sounded ominous. Wasn't sure if it was 'just' the fan or the dreaded hard-drive about to fail. Wasn't overly concerned as everything was saved to an external HDD, so just persevered. A few weeks later, it wouldn't switch on - not even a blue scree or an option of a 'safe load up'. Nothing - it was kaput. However, no problem. Simply back-up my saved stuff from the HDD to my new laptop. Plugged it in. Was too busy familiarising myself with the 'newness' that I paid little attention to the pop-up 'new hardware detected - format disc?' notice and pressed YES, rejoicing in how straightforward it all was! There I was thinking it was loading all my stuff onto my new laptop, when it was actually deleting, from the HDD, over 10 years of religiously saved AND backed-up documents/photos etc I still get a 'sick' feeling in my stomach thinking about it! Then came the pain, time and effort and wasted money on 'sophisticated' data retrieval software - none of which worked.....

I just don't like the 'split' in its current form, often with mismatches of home-and-away games against some teams - and/or even a 20-18 overall home/away imbalance. I'd like the 42 SPFL clubs split into 3 leagues of 14. (Retaining the new 'pyramid' play-off between the bottom club vs the champion non-league side). Play your 13 opponents home & away, giving 26 games, then have the split - into top/bottom halves of 7 clubs. Post-split would simply be meeting those teams again (6 home : 6 away) giving a further 12 matches and a total of 26+12 = 38 league fixtures. Same as now, but a completely 'even' composition of fixtures!

...and you've taken until now to show your gratitude!!

The must have got drawn against Greek minnows FC Karavanos!

Well done to Ryan for his part in Scotland U21s win in Hungary last night! The Scots won 2-1, with Christie playing the whole of the 2nd half.

While not all semis used to be at Hamden, the games that attract bigger crowds used to be played there. There is no way a Scottish Cup Semi against Celtic would be played anywhere other than Hampden if it was available. But the point is they don't have to be. This game could be played at a neutral venue, not in Glasgow, be a sell out and would still be able to be seen on TV. Atmosphere would be miles better that will be generated at Hampden. Still maintain the SFA could have had our game on the Saturday which would have been a bit better than the Sunday. On a personal level, having the game on a Sunday makes it more difficult for me to travel to so am in danger of not being able to attend. Having been at all our major cup semi finals before, this really annoys me. What 'neutral' venue do you have in mind?!

Premiership Adam Rooney (Dundee 1-1 Aberdeen) League One Darren Dods (Brechin City 2-3 Forfar Athletic) Rory McAllister (Stirling Albion 2-1 Peterhead) Highland League Zander Sutherland (Formartine United 0-5 Brora Rangers) Martin Laing (Fort William 0-6 Inverurie Loco Works) Dale Gillespie (Formartine United 0-5 Brora Rangers) Martin Bavidge (Fort William 0-6 Inverurie Loco Works) Andrew Greig (Formartine United 0-5 Brora Rangers) Welsh Premier Jason Oswell (Newtown 3-3 Aberystwyth Town) Northern Irish Cup - semi-final (neutral venue) Curtis Allen (Crusaders 0-1 Glentoran) N.B. The Northern Ireland FA cup final is between Glentoran and Portadown - the winner enters the Europa League. A Belfast trip for Inverness? I'd take that!

At least we didn't pick up any bookings! And it seems Brill has recovered sufficiently to be included in the squad again. We had a player, Tarmo Kink, making his league debut, and we again halved Partick's winning margin over us in the league this season (4 goals, 2 goals, 1 goal) - so surely we're sussing them out!? No positives?!

This thread can be 'put to bed' now, until next season!

A chance beckons to complete the set! And to add another entry to the 'Milestones achieved' list. We managed to win at Firhill in the cup earlier in the season, so hopefully we can get the points tomorrow and edge nearer a European place!

Very disappointing, but there was almost a feeling of inevitability about it. At least there may now be an announcement regarding dates!
