Our official average attendance for the season is 3,733. Up from last seasons 3,558. On paper, it's a small increase, but 175 extra bums-on-seats per game extends to a remarkable amount of hard cash over a season. Match ticket, maybe a look in the club shop, a pie & bovril, programme, raffle, drink at the bar etc.....say a conservative £25 spend each = 25 x 175 = £4,375 extra revenue. Over our 19 home league games, that equates to a non-unsubstantial £83,000+ !!! Not far short of what we get for qualifying for the Europa League. It's an example that every extra punter counts. If we can retain some of the cup-final fans and get back to averaging over 4,000 a game, the club would greatly benefit.

Looking the list of previous winners, the only player not to have gone on to win full international caps is Stuart Armstrong - although, I'm sure that will come. As it will for Ryan!
-
Not strictly true - although it holds true for the 'top flight'. In 2002-03 in the Championship/First Division, we accumulated 65pts to County's 35pts.

At least it doesn't say "it's ON time" as that would be a bare-faced lie!
-
There's also Pavels Mihadjuks and Jason Oswell!

Jonny Tuffey and Curtis Allen.

Brilliant accolade! That's another 'first' for the achievements list!!
-
Rangers fans use that or certainly used to!

I'd expect all these teams to be eliminated at the first hurdle! If the nightmare scenario of losing the cup final came to pass, we'd have a very good chance of winning a tie in European competition. 2nd round will be tougher with much of the 'dross' eliminated! There's always a silver lining!!

No. But this would have been a good topic to open a thread with....21 years ago!!!

Brilliant result! Topping-up our record points tally and injury & suspension free..just the minefield to get through next week before the big one!!! Next's weeks result doesn't matter - if we can keep all our players on the field, we''ll be in great shape for the final!

I suppose it depends on how many of our 'out of contract' players we manage to retain. If we can get them all signed-up, then as Hughes says - we'll only need to be looking at "one or two more". But I tend to think, we'll in reality lose at least one of those players reaching the end of their contract.

It looks likely that we'll be seeded if we enter at the first stage. But, obviously I hope we win the Scottish Cup and make that scenario redundant! Entering at Round 2, my guess is that we'd be un-seeded, potentially giving us a fixture with a 'known' club. I wouldn't normally 'admit' to this, but since Yngwie's revealed he's been dreaming of the Europa League, I confess I did a 'mock draw'. (1st round - as we're guaranteed at least that) We were paired with Welsh outfit Airbus UK Broughton! About 50 miles from Chorley! Oh how I laughed!!! That would be ironic for IHE - first European adventure...and it's an hour away on the bus!

Yellow cards in the league have no bearing on the Scottish Cup, which only counts bookings in the cup games. However... red cards seem to be 'cross-competition' and attract an immediate one-game-ban for the following match, regardless of whether it's league or cup. That's assuming the sending off is for 'football' offences like deliberate handball or too many miss-timed tackles. If it's for 'non-football' offences like head-butting an opponent or pushing the referee, it would be classed as violent conduct and would carry at least a two-game (immediate) ban. So, we should be okay today - although next week at Celtic, they need to be very careful not to get 'drawn in' by any antics, as I'm sure there will be a bit of needle! Frankly, the result at Parkhead is of no consequence to our season - it would be awful if a player missed the cup final because he reacted to Scott Brown's likely antics!

Andy Barrowman is on the lookout for yet another club after being released by Dunfermline. He's 30 now, and has really had just that one good season!

If picked, both Gary Warren and Ross Draper will enter the '100 club' tomorrow. They are currently on 99 league appearances each. The only Englishman in the 'club' is Josh Meekings. David Raven is also close on 96 caps but he'll have to wait until next season to hit 100! But hopefully tomorrow, Gary and Ross can become the 33rd and 34th players in the all-time '100 club' list.

While Willie Collum 'leads' the red-card table, Craig Thomson is the king of dishing the yellows!

Charlie Sheen getting in on the act, seen here after tying a scarf round Nessie's neck at the Holm - Dores road roundabout!

Andre Blackman without a club again! Probably not allowed to comment on his other recent 'activities' so I'll post the link. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3054401/Former-Celtic-star-Blackpool-outcast-Andre-Blackman-carry-40-hours-unpaid-work-stealing-1-225-jacket.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

Here's the article: Caley Thistle manager John Hughes hopes qualifying for Europe can help convince his out-of-contract players to remain with the club. Hughes is stepping up talks to keep the seven players whose deals expire in the summer, after Inverness secured Europa League football for next season with Saturday’s 1-0 win against Dundee. Captain Graeme Shinnie has already signed a pre-contract with Premiership rivals Aberdeen, while midfielder Marley Watkins looks set to join him in leaving, with Barnsley, Hearts and Rangers reported to be interested. However, Hughes has opened negotiations with midfielders Nick Ross, Lewis Horner and Liam Polworth, as well as defender Danny Devine, while he is also looking to keep attacker Edward Ofere and wide midfielder Tarmo Kink at Caledonian Stadium. Caley Jags’ qualification for Europe for the first time in their 21-year history marks the club’s most successful season, with the chance to go one better by winning this month’s Scottish Cup final against Falkirk. Hughes is hopeful Inverness’ ever-increasing reputation – coupled with the SPFL’s fresh sponsorship deal with Ladbrokes – boosts the prospects of keeping his squad intact. Hughes said: “It’s a team game and we’re raising the profile of the club this season. I hope that might tempt one or two to stay, while maybe attracting one or two as well. “We are trying to keep all the players who are out of contract. “We are in negotiations, but we are going to sit down and look at Tarmo and Eddie. They’re not from Scotland, so we’ll need to find out the family situation. “I need to sit down with the chairman, because the SPFL’s Ladbrokes deal certainly helps our budget. It’s the same as Celtic qualifying for the latter stages of a European competition.” Hughes is also keen to add fresh faces to his squad and added: “It took us a while to get players in at Christmas time. Everything we’ve done has been really calculated. “We had to sell our leading scorer Billy Mckay, who went to Wigan and doubled, or possibly trebled, his wages. “That might be the same with one or two players who are out of contract now. But I don’t get frustrated too much because no one is bigger than the club. “If players take that gamble, we need to find new heroes. That recruitment is ongoing as well. “We owe it to the supporters, for them to see some new faces. We are trying to bring another one or two in.”

In his career, he's issued more yellow and more red cards to Falkirk than he has to Inverness, despite officiating two fewer ICT games. (34 ICT matches - 32 Falkirk matches). We need to stop being so paranoid. After what happened in the semi, can we really be in a position to criticise referees?!

This happened a few weeks ago during my 'rest' from the forum, but some may have missed it... Dennis Wyness has left Elgin City to join Buckie Thistle.
