  1. I think it would be ridiculous to even consider spending any amount of money on a scoreboard, i can't think of a bigger, more unnecessary, pointless waste of money (apart from Andy Barrowman maybe?).
  2. That would be a good signing, superb player, thought we should have kept hold of him longer than we did. He must be getting on a bit now though?
  3. I've heard he's Michael Fish, should fit in well at Strathspey.
  4. I think TB is waiting to see all the teams in the world cup play so he can decide which ones to put bids in for.
  5. little harsh is it not?? I would now like to explain (as i had always intended) that i have no bad feeling towards mantardo and that i certainly do not think that he is a pr!ck, infact i have no idea who he is. I used my previous post to illustrate a point. I have seen numerous people on this forum lambasted in the past for insulting individuals and as a result had their right to use this forum brought into question, yet it seems that for a senior moderator this is acceptable. Mantardo; i am sure you don't think that Chick Young really is a pr!ck and that your comment was meant purely as innocent banter. Understandably there is a line somewhere in the sand that cannot be crossed, my gripe is that this line seems to move about depending on who's toes are getting close to crossing it. Where has Chick Young been during this world cup so far anyway?
  6. I don't see why so many people here are so offended by Chick Young, or is everyone just jumping on the "we hate Chick Young" bandwagon because they have nothing better to write on here. Mantardo; since your last post seems to indicate that personal insults are now allowed on this forum, i think you are a pr!ck.
  7. Once again i am utterly astounded at the garbage i am reading on this forum. I bet the people slating Chick Young on this the thread are the same people who will be complaining at the likes of excessive use of reference to The 1966 World Cup. I would be disappointed if there was not a representative from the Scottish media at the world cup, this way we at least will get a small Scottish perspective from the coverage of the world cup. I am starting to find reading this forum more and more painful due to the constant moaning and whining about almost everything from some individuals on here.
  8. http://www.dumbartonfootballclub.com/playe...rhead270310.flv A great Ronaldinho-esque goal from Bavidge too.
  9. Surely it has to be Davie Irons? His record with Gretna must be absolutely stinking.
  10. Not one little bit! Going to miss Div. 1 next season, ;) I totally agree with Joe however, it is vital to the club that we do go up.
  11. The unfortunate thing about this is that they do have a captive market and to an extent, as a result of this, can get away with serving up a sub standard product at an inflated price. The only way to really make them sit up and take notice is if everyone ceased to use this service until such a time as they do address these issues properly, the fact is that as long as people are handing money over the counter they could not care less how happy we are. I like the idea of leasing out each individual catering space to the highest bidder, thus creating competition and forcing the companies involved to be competitive in their pricing and in quality. Imagine being able to walk round to the outlet in the terracing one week for a Harry Gow Pie and cream bun and the next week going to a van beside the main stand for a baked tattie or some home made soup.
  12. Couldn't agree more, Russell was brilliant yesterday. Duncan Esson Hayes
  13. I will be the first to admit that i haven't always been a massive fan of Russell but this season and the end of last season i think has seen him play his best football for the club. He was our stand out player yesterday and gives 100% in every game where at times it seems that others aren't, his natural aggression and commitment are exactly the qualities we should be looking for in a captain. On the flip side Grant is having probably his worst season yet, he was terrible yesterday and i can't recall the last time i seen him have a decent game. It pains me a little saying this as i do like the the guy, he's a local lad, great servant and all the rest of it but all that doesn't help drive the team or win matches. Obviously changing the captain at this point would disrupt the team and possibly affect it adversly, i would however like to see Russell given the armband next season.
  14. Munro! Are you having a laugh?
  15. 38 then 26, as i'm 29 i think i will stick on that one.
  16. I'm not convinced Denmark and Portugal is any harder than Spain and the Czech. There was only a slim chance of us qualifying for this one being in Seed 3 and i think we needed someone like switzerland as 2nd and england as our top seed. Hopefully we can at least perform well to get the rankings up for the next World Cup I think that is an all round harder group though, Cyprus performed well in The World Cup Qualifiers and Iceland are by far the best team from their pot.
  17. Could have been a lot worse, just glad we never got pulled out the hat for Group H - now that is a hard group.
  18. Let's hope we get favourable draw for a change!
  19. Another coal on the fire that is fueling England's World Cup demise-more than welcome by me.
  20. Exactly, it is not better to at least have someone scoring against the "diddy teams" than against nobody at all?
  21. This one? Unless you can read something I can't. One poster made a topical joke and another enquired about the club being grateful enough to recompense volunteers with matchday tickets. So what? That's my point exactly, why shouldn't somebody be compensated for giving up their free time to help clear the stands/pitch rather than have somebody jump straight down their throat just for enquiring about it? I'm not reffering to just this post but it looks to me that on this forum that there's a lot of "one upmanship" running through it at times, it seems that sometimes it's almost impossible for people to comment on anything without risk of it being hastily followed by some sort of snide remark. I hope anyone who is good enough to turn up to help get the stadium ready for Saturday is rewarded with a free ticket, i know times are hard at the club right now but it would cost them a lot more if the game had to be posponed and replayed midweek.
