Taking the morality out of things for a minute, has anyone on here ever eaten dolphin? I haven't but I bet it's lovely.

First of all, I thought Eagle had a very good game on Saturday, and IIRC when he signed for ICT, it was reported that he could play left wing, as well as a left back. Along with that, as you can see I've gone with a rather attack minded, Dutch-esque 4-3-3 which would give the full backs the opportunity to get forward. With Lionel, I've always believed that he is a fairly effective player going forward, despite having his, how shall we say, moments at the back. If he was played in this position, with a licence to go forward, and out of harms way at the back, then I think he could be a fairly effective player.

No, I'd change it. If Duncan and Golly are indeed available I'd go - Esson Tokely-----Bulvitis-----Munro-----Golabek Cox Duncan Hayes Sanchez Rooney Foran Subs - Allison, Eagle, Djebi-Zadi, Proctor, Odhiambo/McBain/Ross

Maybe not for away games, but ICT need to starting winning homes game that would otherwise be draws. I reckon this formation should be scrapped at home from now on and ICT attack and win games comfortably at home, something this formation doesn't always do.

Talking of mascot's, whatever happened to Nessie the Monster and the iCat? Have they been put down?

Anyone else think that this 4-2-3-1 thing has had it's day?

I'd say a draw was a fair result. Neither team was better than the other really, but it could have swung either way. The first half tactics, were how should we say, dull. Every opportunity was a long high ball towards either Rooney or Hayes, or in many case, no-one. Butcher was saying ICT should "win ugly", but it was clear, that these long high balls just make fools of players like Rooney and Hayes and don't add anything to the scoreline. When ICT adopted a more passing style of play, more chance were created. This is the mindset ICT should into games with, not just in the second half. Of the team, no-one really had a bad game. Esson kept ICT in it a few times (my MOTM), while Golabek looked solid in the first half and Duncan worked very hard. Rooney also worked very hard, but just didn't get the chances or distribution he needed. Eagle played the best I've ever seen him, while Hayes was hot and cold. Tokely actually did quite well at centre-back, but he still can't pass nor control the ball. The rest were all in the okay category, except Odhiambo. How that guy gets in the starting line up is a mystery. That's the second game in the space of a week where he has been completely ineffective. An all right performance on the whole, but I feel a more urgent style of play from the start would be more beneficial for ICT in the coming games.

Not Fijian long ball football Ren?! :D I don't see what to do with anything. But in truth, there's nothing worse than long ball football. It's dull, soul destroying and rather ineffective.

That's lucky, when I say the title of the thread I thought something bad had happened to him! Anyway, if you want my own view on the matter for tomorrow, then I don't think Ross should start the game..........which'll mean he probably will.

I agree, if ICT win tomorrow then they'll win. But, who knows, anything can happen in life.

I reckon it wouldn't matter a jot if this legal stuff was banned, they'd still take it anyway.

I personally switch between a wide 4-3-3 and an attack minded 4-4-2/4-2-4, which is 4-4-2 with wingers and wing backs. Sometimes I go 5-3-2 but only against bigger teams. I don't think I've ever gone with one up front. I managed to get ICT into the SPL, and am now being head hunted by Marsailles, Real Madrid, and a whole bunch of Mexican teams.

That's a good point. And to be honest, I think this may not be the game to try it out. On the other hand though, there were a few moments on Monday night when he joined the front line. He certainly looks like a better striker than defender, and his overhead kick was superb (just a shame it went just wide). If he were to be played in the centre, just behind the striker(s), where he could attack, whilst using his pace and be out of harms way at the back (where he can be a liability) then I think he would be a very dangerous player.
