He still looked reasonably fresh to me when he came off.... Wasn't he playing in the reserves last week? Maybe he was mentally exhausted - I still find it hard to accept he was asking to come off after just 60 mins - I am the only one who can mind the way he reacted when CC "hooked" him after around 60 mins against Dunfermline at East End Park? And that was another game where he played his socks off.....

I think we should be told (from both sides) exactly why he was subbed.... Bazza looked about dead on his feet, but he lasted another 10 minutes. Whatever the reason it effectively finished off season 2006/7...

To try & get this back on topic.... I've just watched it again (for the 35th time) on widescreen HD TV.... There was no sign of Black indicating to the bench that he was ready, or wanted to come off.... That was around the 75th minute mark, and he was buzzing about like a bee winning lots of possession and keeping us moving forward.... It was a crazy move to take him off and bring on another striker... crazy, crazy crazy.... no need for it at all and it cost us us the feckin game..... :020:

I'm not gonna be able to make this do, unfortunately - but I hope someone will tell him he was immense on Sunday - a real inspiration for a fantastic team performance. He began the move for the goal with a brilliant pass to Ian Black. I was also really impressed with the way he put his arm around Blackie and calmed him down when he looked as if he was about to blow up, after his wee dust up with Nakajappo... That kind of support and understanding is exactly what Black needs on the field. There is no doubt in my mind as to who should be captain of ICT when Dods moves on.... and maybe even a future team manager.... well done Big Man..... :022: :021: :022:

We turned it on ok, just switched off in last two minutes You're right of course - there were several terrific performances on Sunday.... just the last two minutes was a feckin nightmare - Back to this topic - Super J's would be a worthy addition to the SPL.... Might even be time to think about expanding it again... there's a lot of decent sides in Div 1.....

I can think of one recent big game where we didn't exactly turn it on....

I totally agree with that - so many these days are totally obsessed with formations & tactics and substitutions, when the team is crying out for a couple of decent players who can consistently make AND receive a pass.... that, plus the ability to go past opponents with a bit of pace and deliver the odd decent & accurate shot at goal..... The back four on Sunday, with Blacks assistance actually defended pretty well....... until the last 3 minutes.... As the legendery Bill Shankly used to say "You don't need a university degree to be a good footballer - I've known guys who couldn't read or write but place a football at their feet and they would outwit anyone on the field"

For once, Johndo's not talking through that tattoo..... I agree bringing on McSwegan for Black was a big mistake.... I think he could have lasted the distance without picking up another yellow card.....

I've gotta go to Embra tomorrow - but have set up my brand new sooper dooper Sky Plus HD TV to record all the action.... This means I'll be able to enjoy a re-run late tomorrow night on my new soooper dooper 32" HD TV screen.... Gonna try and avoid hearing any news of the game throughout the day and will be having my own wee private party when I get back home around 1.00am.... so if you hear someone singing in the street around 3.00am you'll know the reason for it....

I reckon Blackie is bound to be on from the start against Celtic - I hope he plays a blinder and makes a real name for himself.....
