  1. I'm inclined to agree with Yngwie.... Our season is all but finished. The worrying part for me is the Catch 22 situation we are now in. Unable to even talk about rebuilding for next season until the present management team move on at the end of this one. Our remaining fixtures now look to be pretty meaningless.
  2. I agree... BTW, anyone else notice that Ballymena beat Linfield 2-0 yesterday? That was a shock... :11doh:
  3. I'd say Hayes is good enough for the SPL.
  4. I agree with Jnr... This could backfire on the Arabs in a big way. I thought Hughes was doing a good job at City and was well on his way to taking them to much greater things. He'll be snapped up by a big Premiership side before long. What does Mancini know about English football?
  5. Looks like a huge crowd there.
  6. I can see him finishing up back at his old stomping ground, with old Grumpy taking on the Scotland job.
  7. Like Rooney of old?
  8. At least they're seeing some goals....
  9. Steve came through that show with a lot of credit. These two feckin balloons trying to out shout each other about which games were off this afternoon was really doing my head in.
  10. The sad part of all this is that we are actually very close to having a squad of players who could be more than capable of reaching the SPL and staying there. It's been said on other threads.... the addition of a couple of experienced defenders, coupled with improved coaching methods and better tactical awareness would take ICT a long way forward.
  11. A team for Div 2 ?
  12. As far as extending contracts is concerned, shouldn't he at least be thinking about Hayes?
  13. With comments like these, I'd say the whole article is a bit of a joke : But Butcher insists his immediate priority is moving Caley Thistle into First Division title contention in the new few weeks. He said: ?It is too early for us to look at giving out contract extensions. ?January is still a long way off, considering we have two games before then. ?We will look at the squad size and who we can bring in and we have already taken steps along those lines. ?As for extending contracts, we can?t look at that.
  14. Can't argue with that. No, I wouldn't argue with that either, although some back up for Rooney wouldn't go amiss in addition to two decisive defenders.
  15. I fail to see any problem I have caused by answering, in a civilised way, the areas raised by another poster and indeed I notice other posters have also discussed the areas raised with no resort to anything other than Queens English. However if this is seen as a problem for posting on this forum, I'm sure there is an easy way to rectify it without resorting to pm, twitter or whatever - just don't post!! . I don't see any problems with with this forum either, Absent Friend.... Thank you for addressing my question.

:021: I would suspect that research is probably quite accurate.
  17. Can you explain what you mean by that? I am not quite sure which part of the above you don't understand, no big words, gave my opinion as I saw it at the time and how I now see it, which is slightly different due maybe to change of playing staff. He is a decent manager for us, in my opinion but he always gives me the feeling when talking that he will perform miracles with the players BUT it does not happen! Hence my goal count for us in the prediction league is always high. No, no big words, but the few you've managed to string together don't make a whole lot of sense. Should ICT persevere with his managerial/interpersonal/media skills beyond the expiration of his contract or not?
  18. No, not really.... It's the "decent manager" bit I'm struggling to get my head round.
  19. Can you explain what you mean by that?

Given our present financial constraints can we afford to offer him a coaching role just now? I agree that (like Charlie) he has always been an excellent ambassador for ICT, and could very well have a positive influence on our younger players, but.... Is he any more likely to succeed at manager level than CC? I would be inclined to pass on offering him a post right at this moment, but I suspect there will be changes in our managerial/coaching set up for the start of 2010/2011 season. Perhaps he could be offered a position at that time.
  21. There are now more posts on this thread about the feckin pies, than there are on Saturday's matchday thread!!
  22. Why? Was he surprised? He hasn't been named in the squad since the Morton game on October 31st.

If only someone from within the club was capable of coming out with a comment like that. Excellent post.
  24. That's what you said about TB and MM..... :P
