  1. So are you saying that the demise of caley gave caley fans the perfect opportunity to ditch local football and go and watch the team they really supported ? You'd need to ask each one individually about that. I'm sure you'd get a variety of reasons. Like SMEE says, i was always a Rangers fan first & foremost. Until the Scottish Cup match in the early 80s when i was torn between the two. By the late 80s i was going home & away with Caley only saw Rangers in Europe. Some lads went straight from the merger into being season ticket holders at other clubs but after a brief period in 94/95 i didnt go to any football for several years. Depression & drug abuse was where i went. Nothing that leaving Inverness didn't sort out though. Experienced that myself bro. looking at what happened to a lot of the other lads I think we got off pretty lightly :thumb04:
  2. Think your on the wrong board. How does it? Pretty self explanatory, with your obvious love of Naka Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuraaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
  3. Willie never lived on the black isle as canuck says he was in Bruce Avenue when he got married and latterly in Dochfour Drive , and he played in the same team as Ginger and Stootie etc.
  4. Thanks for that canuck. I heard he was nicknamed Puskas by the Telford St. faithful due to his left peg. He's still on the go and I can say hello from you the next time I see him if you'd like?
  5. It was more like 1200 as i recall. The poorest ever crowd for a Scottish Cup semi. Also, at McDiarmid Park, Caley fans were all over the stadium. There was approx 5000 who made that journey, which we highlighted in the next fanzine (4500 go missing on way back from Perth) when about 150 of us went to Nairn or somewhere equally exciting for Caleys next match. 1200 for a Scottish Cup semi final though, that speaks volumes. Even IF...your figures were correct...all it suggests is that Caley had a massive part time following! Shame their real following was 1/10th of the numbers you give The figures are correct all right , I was one of the last to get in and a LOT of lads were locked out that night FACT.
  6. Had a look at Wycombe but steered clear as Bournemouth are on a good run at the minute having won there last 2 games 3-1.
  7. Same with me to be honest with ya.. Its called not letting your heart rule your head though :thumb04: You learn fast.
  8. Bummer, you couldnt get from Perth to Dundee any other way of course
  9. Unfortunately I had to work.Whats everyone elses excuse?
  10. Its called "not letting your heart rule your head",very important when it comes to gambling. Rankers and Chelskie are my most hated teams in Scotland and England so I hope you fail miserably also :thumb04:
  11. A left winger who played for Caley and for Thistle during the 50's by the name of Willie Jack? Bit of a long shot I know but maybe one of the older lads might remember seeing / hearing of him. Any feed back appreciated.
  12. Whats everyone doing today? I'm going for Aberdeen,Dundee Utd,Partick and Dross county. ?179.55 return for a ?10 stake.
  13. Whats with the shut up comment ? All I did was advise caution as to what was chanted. I cant stand the little rat either.
  14. Its quite easy really eg 13/8 add 13+8 =21 divide by second number(8) =2.625 then multiply by your stake. So if you had ?10 on a 13/8 shot you'd get a return of ?26.25
  15. I'd be wary of chanting anything offensive mate, especially the way things are the now.
  16. 'Hello?' 'Hi, honey. This is Daddy. Is Mammy near the phone?' 'No Daddy. She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul.' After a brief pause, Daddy says, 'But honey, you haven't got an Uncle Paul.' 'Oh yes I do, and he's upstairs in the room with Mammy, right now.' Brief Pause. 'Uh, okay then, this is what I want you to do. Put the phone down on the table, run upstairs and knock on the bedroom door and shout to Mammy that Daddy's car just pulled into the driveway.' 'Okay Daddy, just a minute.' A few minutes later the little girl comes back to the phone. 'I did it Daddy' 'And what happened honey?' 'Well, Mammy got all scared, jumped out of bed with no clothes on and ran around screaming. Then she tripped over the rug, hit her head on the dresser and now she isn't moving at all!' 'Oh my God!!! What about your Uncle Paul?' 'He jumped out of the bed with no clothes on, too. He was all scared and he jumped out of the back window and into the swimming pool. But I guess he didn't know that you took out the water last week to clean it. He hit the bottom of the pool and I think he's dead.' ***Long Pause*** ***Longer Pause*** ***Even Longer Pause*** Then Daddy says, 'Swimming pool? Is this 486-5731?' No, this is 486-5713.... . 'SORRY WRONG NUMBER !'
  17. Thats the fella.Bit eccentric but a great laugh.
  18. Colin Mcneil? Was his father a techie teacher ?
  19. If we could qualify for a European competition that would be a huge achievement, and as and when we got there - and I mean this with no disrespect - we could hardly do worse than the teams outwith the OF that have represented Scotland in the last few years. thats bullsh1t scotty, aberdeen did admirably last season with a draw against Bayern and a 4-0 whooping of Copenhagen , dont think we would have.
  20. Alex I am not nit picking. I'm behind the youngsters 100% if you actually read what I've posted its pretty obvious.
  21. After telling them not to bother and that they would embaress themselves. Indeed. You really should read whats been posted. I said it would be embarassing if only a few turned up with flags after publicly announcing a "display". I'm all for big banners like the ones the Red Ultras have for example. Perhaps you should take your own advice. Read whats been posted. We haven't publicly announced there will be a display. We have stated our belief that it would be a good idea to have one, and suggested some possible means of achieving it. But you have publicly announced there will be a display. OP states that the pair of you have decided BENI will be doing a display for the Celtic game.
