    Elgin Friendly

OK OK OK OK, ...........I'll shift my post to this thread then. Elgin 0-2 ICT Lets just hope it was preseason warm ups, because this was pretty hapless stuff. Dargo netted from close range lifting the ball into the roof of the net with a poachers goal middle of first half. Bazza had two tremendous volleys within ten seconds of each other stopped with equally tremendous saves from the pink keeper, and Wyness had a header well saved as well, with the rebound dropping behind him. Black curled a neat shot into the roof of the net from 18 yards before half time and thus endeth the scoring. Lots of subs in second half with Hart adding a bit of thrust to the midfield but no further goals. Elgin had a couple of opportunities to score but Brown blocked them. Lets just hope that the weary Italian legs get re-charged before the season starts and Denzil shows a bit more effort than on display tonight. However, it was only a kick about on a breezy summers evening, maybe when the real thing starts, we are firing on all cylinders. Started the game with much and such our best eleven, Caff playing in Tokeleys position. Dods Munro and Golly made up the defence, Wilson Keogh, Black and Morgan, with Dargo and Wyness up front. Second half plenty os subs saw Hastings, Duncan, Macallister, Russeldhino, and probably some others, but we lacked ideas all round. still a wee workout for the few who turned up, maybe three hundred or so.

    Caley V Clach

It's a testimonial for Clach striker Bruce McCraw at Grant street park. We will be pushed to beat the ground record of nine thousand set in 1951. Clach were founded in 1896. The Highland Football League was formed in 1893, at the Inverness Workman's Club. The original league consisted of seven teams: Thistle, Caledonian, Clachnacuddin, Forres Mechanics, Union, Citadel and Camerons. Of the original teams, two are still playing in the league today, and two merged to become current SPL outfit Inverness CT. Clach have won the Highland league 18 times, the last two in season 1974-75 and 2003-2004. McCraw played for ICT in the old third division days. :clapping04:
  6. You know this, I couldn't care less what the players get paid. Let's get down to the football.
  7. now your talkin...... Barry Robson, Bobby Mann, :clapping04: Paul Ritchie, and Steve Hislop will all be playing for Caley
  8. Never been a problem with youngsters in the Innes on a Saturday afternoon. The only problem I can forsee is you will have to buy all the regulars a nice cold guinness or two :drinking09:
  9. If it was Harry, he would have caught him in the face :010:
  10. surely it's got to be 'right enuff mun'
  11. maybe so, but I predicted I would be lucky correctly :017:
  12. I missed two games myself but had a few biggish scores to help :clapping04:
  13. tm4tj, arms outstretched like a Lancaster bomber on a mission, pulls his T shirt over his head and sprints round the house........across the living room, into the hall, up the stairs and round the bedrooms, back downstairs through the kitchen and dives full length across the conservatory floor, coming up just short of the aviary doors, the cockatiels scattering madly as if joining in the frenzied celebrations..............the sweet taste of success lingering on his now moist lips, his tingling brain writing the victory speech ( I'd like to thank my manager, and praising Hairy Chipper and gringo for making a fist of it up to the last game) and anyone else who knows me, beads of sweat forming on his now moistened brow he recalls every game, every goal and every kick of the ball, the memories will stay with him forever, then without warning the eerie silence is broken with a shrill voice penetrating his mind..............go and get dressed ya stupid old git and get the kettle on...................Mrs m4tj and zogg, staring in bewilderment at this prostrate being lost in the moment and wondering what will happen when the world cup ends, where will he get his fix................ :017:
  14. Think I'll go and watch paint dry :sleep01:
  15. So chibberooney, down to the last game, and Scotty is keeping the results close to his chest. Must be some match fixing going on. I was hoping to see the results in before the final, then I could have played for a draw, but who knows I may be behind now? :010: game on

Really :010: Think I will stick with my live music. People playing records just does not have the same appeal. Imagine that, sticking a record on the gramaphone in the living room and people watching you.....amazing.

Mee, being a very patriotic person, you are obviously a big runrig fan and seem unable to tear yourself away from the bagpipe and fiddle to the real world of music that Hamish is trying to unleash upon you. :016:
  19. The other side of the coin is that tha money we could accrue by holding on to them in terms of getting further in the cups, higher up the league, more revenue from TV rights, bigger crowds etc, would more than counterbalance the loss in terms of releasing them when they are out of contract for zilch.
  20. Your right Hairy.............they were the Stevie Wonder signings of 1970 Signed sealed delivered I'm yours :017:
  21. :015: It's all true I tell you, it's all true. Give us an update when you get to the other side and in return you will get crushers very own match reports.
  22. chris, you worry too much, everyone is untried at SPL level until they get a game in the SPL. Rankin will be as good as what we already have. Most of our present players were only 'first division' players before we got promoted. There is no gap between the decent first division players and players who play for teams like us. Remember Celtic and Rangers pay millions for some of their players and they are not always worth that extra five million pounds. Poor Charlie, he can't do anything right for doing something wrong in some eyes. I don't think we have done anything wrong in bringing Rankin to iCT, he will not disappoint, trust me, but don't expect him to bring instant success. And this is the year for Charlie to be appraised, given a whole season in charge and playing the way he wants the team to.
  23. old git :016:
  24. are ye starting to sweat Hairy............................. :015:

    Andy Murray

Quite frankly he needs a boot up the erse. That must be the worst attempt by anyone to play tennis, it's as though he can't be ersed because it's not his balls, once again his attitude stinks. Get the finger out laddie, you are playing rubbish and just don't look interested. Or are you just wanting a five setter?
