  1. Ross County's capitulation last night also adds to an incentive to really up the performance on Friday night.
  2. Probably cheaper to travel away than switch on the floodlights at home!! Let's hope Rangers B do not prevail and send out a squad that would have attracted a large crowd to the Caledonian Stadium.
  3. Partick will certainly start as firm favourites on Friday night so we will not be underestimating them - a cause of many home game points lost.
  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63080244 The current financial problems for the country will impact on many clubs.
  5. Set pieces a problem to be addressed in training this week. This league is certainly very competitive. Brilliant win though as a defeat would have piled pressure on our management team.
  6. The club are not any financially stronger after the concerts and with electricity costs increasing substantially for floodlights it is likely to make matters worse. Will some clubs seek to play games at noon during the winter to save costs? A new right back is therefore very unlikely. So perhaps we will see Wallace back there tonight, Danny in the back four, and David in for Roddy. We can but hope although the signs are not too good.
  7. To be fair to Dodds, he initially was loyal to those who convincingly beat Cove last week. We have started the season well but clearly next Saturday it will be no more Mr Niceguy and a warning not to underestimate the opposition.
  8. Billy produced a captain's performance yesterday. We are currently very youthful which is honorable. However, the 'old guard' of Billy, Mark, Aaron (youthful) Robbie and Scot were vital to the win which was very enjoyable yesterday. Hope we haven't peaked too early as we did last year. However, we do need experience long term in the middle of the defence so hopefully Danny's niggly injury is resolved or Davie Carson is put on height growth hormones to extend his utility.
  9. Noticed that Deas has a two game suspension. Hopefully Danny will be back for the Arbroath game because we looked a bit too youthful against Queens. Kirk Broadfoot was a major influence last year and with current injuries and the suspension we lacked a bit of experience.
  10. Sligo could dent their cup confidence if they win the two legged Euro tie. 'No cup game is easy' - John Barnes.
  11. As a non seeded team we can now look forward to a game against Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Dundee United, Motherwell, Aberdeen, Dundee or most likely Arbroath away.
  12. Winning against Albion Rovers would almost certainly qualify us as one of the best runners up. Winning the league would make us seeded which might not be financially useful unless we progressed further. First things first, let us not blow it against a tigerish team like Albion Rovers.
  13. Do you understand every word Aaron Doran shouts at officials!!!
  14. Sounds like a great win. Do feel that Daniel will thrive but it has to be in a team - looks promising.
  15. Lionel = Linesperson, Assistant referee, Person assisting referee checking ofsides etc.
  16. Oakley played onside by number 4 - credit to Lionel for getting it right.
  17. We have not won many games in the League Cup in recent years so three points is a big moment potentially. For George, this would have been a great moment after his early season leg break at Woking. Pleased with the result so that the Livingston game should be very interesting. All to play for.
  18. Daniel will thrive playing for us. Reson to be optimistic now with squad.
  19. The inspiration for George starts with Shane who worked his socks off to get back to Championship fitness levels. George really has to prove himself because it is now or never. However, he should be a useful addition partly because he knows the club and area and hopefully sees this as the moment to succeed.
  20. We have finally found a solution to opposition songs with our signing of Ram...
  21. Reece McAlear has signed for Tranmere managed by Micky Mellon - so will not be signing for us. Apologies if reported elsewhere. On the subject of loanees I think it is fair to say these were successful in the last season so the chances are that they will feature again.
  22. We will need all of our energy next season for the league.
  23. So on the bench we could have Roddy in a mask, Tom on crutches and Shane with a stookie and crutches. Clearly Tom and Shane would struggle if they had to join in the penalty shoot out. However, if we were forced to put these guys on the bench I am sure they would give everything if brought on. PS If we have problems, think about Rangers and Hearts - they are part of the Willie Collum card fest at Hampden Park this Saturday.
