This system just totally does not work. Absolutely horrific suggestion. For example if we take this season's SPL table, almost half the clubs are at the 22 game mark where the leagues would be split leading to the top 8 being: Celtic, ICT, Motherwell, Hibs, Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd. In that group you have no Highland derby, no Edinburgh derby, no Dundee derby and still no Celtic v Sevco that the broadcasters/Neill Doncaster want. Then take the middle 8 teams which would consist of: Hearts, St Mirren, County, Dundee, Morton, Dunfermline, Partick Thistle and Livingston. Again a worrying lack of derby matches to keep the broadcasters interested. Also how would fans of the 4 clubs from the SPL for example feel about having shelled out for an SPL price season ticket expecting games against Celtic and Hibs but instead playing half the season against Livingston and Partick. The only option there would be for clubs to sell a ST for the first half of the season and one for the second half but this would lead to an incredible drop in revenue if you did not make the top 8. Also in this middle 8 could anybody realistically see much of a change in the top 4 spots after the second half of matches is complete. County and Dundee this season in the SPL are the bottom 2 clubs, they were better than Morton, Partick Thistle and Livingston last season so should finish above them again over 14 games. Worst idea ever.

I'm not too fussed that it is played at Easter Road it is a nice stadium and it is the right size for a game like this I much prefer this than a half empty Hamden. Also what is the difference us playing Hearts at Easter Road than playing Celtic at Hamden? Another thing this cup is run by the SFL not the SFA so for once the SFA are not to blame in this situation. We have drawn 2-2 this season against Hearts at Tynecastle despite being 2-0 down and down to 10 men I see absolutely no reason why we can't go and beat them this time at Easter Road. Anyway, really looking forward to it. If the club can get details of the ticket prices and bus prices, an idea for the club could be to market some of the tickets as a Christmas present - sell it as a bundle of a match ticket, a seat on a supporters bus down to the game and maybe throw in an extra or two such as a special edition semi-final programme/scarf/poster etc. Not sure of the cost involved with this though but a possible avenue to look at.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/inverness-offer-stars-new-deals-1424453 According to this we have offered 2 year deals to Andrew Shinne, Graeme Shinnie and Josh Meekings as well as trying to extend Roberts' loan. Great to see the club acting much earlier than normal to try and secure key players way before another club can pick them up on a pre-contract. Also good to see we are offering these guys 2 year deals. Well done ICT.

Good to see us fight back from 2 down we were awful and Hibs fully deserved their goals. Came into after that and pulled one back from Conor Pepper looked to be a great finish. The credit for our second goal has to go to Josh Meekings with his back to goal he produces a superb turn to leave two Hibs defenders for dead his shot was saved by the goalie. Draper gets the rebound but again is blocked the ball spills to Foran who finishes it not quite sure what happened as the Hibs goalie got booked for pushing Foran as he went to celebrate the goal not really sure what it was for. Slightly disappointed that after we drew level Foran was removed from his forward role alongside McKay and dropped deep into midfield I thought Hibs were on the ropes and there for the taking and we should have pushed for the win. No doubt I will be criticised for being negative after a great fightback from ICT. Special mentions to Wotherspoon for his excellent goal definitely a goal of the season contender and a fantastic show by the Easter Road stewards who did not cause hassle at all. They made no attempt to prevent people from standing and enjoying themselves - take a bow the way stewarding should be at all grounds.

How about setting up a deal with a local restaurant. By visiting the restaurant you could get a voucher that allows you to buy a ticket for half price or something like that for a game (probably excluding Ross County and Celtic). In return the club could advertise the restaurant at the stadium and promote any special offers they have or hand out menus/money off vouchers if the restaurant was willing to do this as well.

Would the club be able to offer a package similar to Aberdeens 10-game season ticket. This could be marketed for those who work offshore or move away for university and therefore will not make enough home games to justify purchasing a full season ticket. These tickets could be limited to certain areas of the stadium as it is in the case of Aberdeen. They could also be priced separately - a cheaper one that doesn't include a ticket for Celtic or County games but does give you the option of first refusal on these matches or a more expensive one that allows your tickets to cover the Celtic and/or County games if you wish it to?
-
I think this is a brilliant idea. It would be a really nice gesture from the club that would create a lot of good will from the people who received the tickets and it wouldn't cost much if anything at all.

Kenny Cameron = ICT's shame Absolutely disgraceful statement. Not even remotely impressed with this.

The club shop should sell signed Kenny Cameron posters with the quote "ICT says NO to Newco"

http://saintinasia.wordpress.com/2012/06/04/saints-without-rangers-a-question-of/ Stole this from P&B but feel it is worth a read. This is done by a St Johnstone fan estimating how much they would lose without Rangers in the league and I think it makes a lot of sense. Applying the same calculations shown in this link I ended up with a loss of £383,075 for ICT compared to last year if we lost our two Rangers home games and 33% of the SKY deal. Note this does not account for raised policing costs or food sales etc at said Rangers games. Only tickets are accounted for. Nor does it include any money raised from increased attendances when we play County at home.

Ok so hardly a great start. Positives: Tansey looked good hit a good free kick off the post seems to have an eye for a pass. Esson made a few good stops unlucky with the goals. After both initially jumping against each other for the ball, Foran and Tade seemed to improve both put in plenty of effort. Tade had a fantastic knock down for Foran or A.Shinnie I think in the first half which created a good chance. Hayes looked lively in the second half cynically stopped a few times by motherwell players as we were breaking away. Negatives: Tactics, I have no clue what our midfield was supposed to be doing in the first half and I don't think they did either. All were fairly anonymous with Hayes trying to cut in from the left a lot but when we lost the ball that left Hateley and Humphrey two on one against Gillet. The defence as a unit looked very poor. Gillet was probably the best of the bad bunch. Tokely looked uncomfortable against the pace of Murphy and was caught a few times. Aldred won his fair share of headers against Higdon but generally looked quite shaky when the ball was on the deck. Proctor was terrible totally and utterly taken apart, Piermayr better be good is all I can say because we really need him. Motherwell looked very good and on that performance should be challenging for the Europa League places they deserved their 2 goals in the first half, their 3rd was against the run of play in the second half. We had plenty of chances and really should have scored a few. Let's just hope it gets better before the weekend!

Revamp the cups .... make earlier rounds a group stage so small teams can make a bit of coin, make later rounds home and away .... there are plenty of ways to get more games if you think about it .... and with regard to games against bigger teams ..... no team is guaranteed these .... Do you think Aberdeen budgeted (or projected) being bottom six this season and losing out on 5 big games to end the season? If they are good enough, then why not !!! All that statement proves is that you want to stagnate Scottish football and prevent smaller teams from having ambition and rewards for achieving that ambition ... its that kind of attitude that kept Highland teams out of the senior setup for decades. I agree about the German 'safe standing areas' idea and it is something Toronto FC fans are also pushing their owners and MLS about. How does your 14 team league work ? Is that play each other 3 times for 39 games or is it some other format with a split? Cant see how it works out with an even split of games other than by using the same SPL model which is to try and obtain a balance of home and away games over the course of TWO seasons. My point is if the teams are good enough then of course 100% let them in but are they realistically good enough? right now i don't think so. Of course i don't want scottish football to stagnate but I personally don't see the benefit of potentially having part time teams in the top flight. Also if you look at attendances for cup games they are generally lower than those of home league games so therefore although there are more games not necessarily as high attendances as you would get. Also if you get knocked out early on then you miss out on all these extra games. The 14 team league is not my idea and nor am I a particular fan of it but realistically i believe it is the only plan that will get enough votes. the idea is to play once home and once away against each team i.e 26 games then split in to a top 6 and a bottom 8 and play each side a further two times in your section. Personally i feel this is no better than what we currently have.

Ok a 16 team league will never get voted through because for change to happen, the vote must be 11-1. You will not under any circumstances get 11 clubs voting for 4 less home games a year and less home games against the teams with big away supports i.e The OF and Hearts. As for an 18 team league, if we go by last years final placings, the league would be the current 12 in the SPL plus Falkirk, Dundee, Dunfermline, QoS, County and Partick. This does not seem that bad as the majority of them have played in the SPL before so have the requirements. But for season 2, if it was 3 up, 3 down as it should be then you would end up with the likes of Raith, Airdrie, Ayr, Stirling or Cowdenbeath in the top flight. Is that what we really want? Celtic beat Aberdeen 9-0 this year how many do you think they would put past these teams? We ourselves put 7 past Ayr last year. This would 100% without a doubt weaken the top flight. And would you also insist that these teams have 6,000 seater stadia? For me the changes that should be made would be for the season to start two or three weeks earlier to allow for a winter break. Also i would love for the SPL to follow the German model and reintroduce controlled terraces to games. These clubs in Germany show that these terraces can be safely controlled with large numbers of fans. Teams should also drop out of the 3rd Division as part of a new pyramid structure. If people really see the need for change, then the only idea that has a chance of being voted through by 11-1 is the 14-team league.
