Dunfermline made us play hoofball by pressing our defenders

Kind of demonstrates how tactically basic we are that everyone is working out how to overcome us. Hoofball with with the pint sized recruitment is a gift for the cloggers in this league.

Hopefully the new signings will settle into the side quickly and make a big difference. If they don't then they will, at least, add another chapter to Doods new book 'A 1001 Excuses For Being *****'

Takes time to gel and they need to integrate into our style of play....standard manager spin

Although unless they were registered prior to midday yesterday they can't play today anyhow. Thats my understanding of the rules.

  3. Some people have interest takes on things. For me, it's simple

    - poor recruitment both on and off field even given our finances

    - too much nepotism employing people who do not seen to add value aligned to their renumeration

    - lack of foot fall an issue no board or entity at the club has seemed to be able to address or improve over the last 10 years

    - lack of communication

    - lack of integrity, from the concert fiasco to paying staff to moonlight on other jobs during match days which although may be contractually compliant doesn't look good

    - lack of entertainment and product on field. We have no real style and have become a hard watch. Which given the experience on offer I do understand for many why there are better or higher priority alternatives for spending their cash

No conspiracy theories here. Just a list of reasons why I see it going to ****.

  4. Mulgrew would be a great signing. Experienced, aggressive and physical CB knows the game and has aspirations to learn and move beyond playing. But he is opinionated and not afraid to be honest and speak his mind therefore instantly I'd expect a clash with Dodds which would be doomed to fail.

Max Anderson has signed on a season long loan.  5 starts last season for Dundee.....5' 5" midfielder.....

We all know Scottish football is littered with successful players this size playing in a physical league of hatchet men. Sadly I feel this could be another boyd or samuels who physically can't compete at this level. Happy to be proven wrong of course.

Be happier with a 6ft plus commanding CB or two instead tbh but dodds seems to not like height in his team.

I see Hibs have responded to losing their first three league games by dispensing of the services of their Manager.

Anyone good with PowerPoint and want to pull a promo presentation for Doddsball together?

with Billy Dodds advising the club are continuing to make real efforts to bring in players (Wyness Shuffle podcast)

Maybe this has all been a big ruse then and we are lulling the rest of the league into false security?

Next few days we will go full Chelsea siging a whole squad playing moneyball with the battery farm cash that'll make us look the the seaside version of the Saudis. Fortunately missing out on Europe by loosing the cup final also removes any need to comply with UEFA FFP.......its all been planned afterall....

Any new manager would want a clear out I think and bring in his on backroom staff and new players.

Unless the new boss is thee same as the old boss and identified these targets as part of his current role. Not an ideal solution as its not clearing the decks but it's cost effective and he may at least get the player/staff relationships heading the right way instead of the disjoint we see right now.

BTW I'm not advocating in an ideal world I'd want Robbo back as boss, there are others I'd prefer but cognisant of the financial situation we have.

I’ll go back on what I said based on how poorly we have performed thus far. Christmas is too late to take action. Dundee Utd at home looks like D-Day.

Early doors but unless there's huge improvements in the next few games, I fear this game could be another 'Hamilton' moment. Although change didn't happen then so may not this time around either, but I do agree with you.

  10. Decent players available for loan have already been picked up. Couple that with who wants to join not just our geographical location, but a relegation fight and Doddsball.

Anyone we bring in needs to be experienced and up for a fight, no many guys like that at clubs needing loaned out. Young guys who are hungry work when it's going well but in a league of cloggers and hatchet men beatong relegation involves scrapping and being mentally tough.

The margins are so tight, all our defeats in this run have been by one goal

It's really just unfair the runs of bad luck we have under Dodds isn't it? Between injuries, dressing room unrest and we just don't get the breaks on those fine margins.

  12. Once we get taken apart convincingly at home to DUtd next month and remain rock bottom. That might be breaking point

Previous poor runs have been mid season and due to everyone else being inconsistent it masked the issues and made it look less 'bad'. A crap start won't and can't be glossed over the same way.

I'm not sure , this has been truly awful so far .... And on this performance we deserve to be bottom ....

    And we are.

Game in hand and all that though.....

  14. ^ toxic culture which probably hasn't gone umnoticed in the close net insular world of Scottish football when it comes to talent wanting to work under that regime. Another factor to include into our challenges for recruitment.

  15. Oh look, the mods are getting upset at criticism of the directors. I'm sure given all your powers you can change the title if you want but I'll reiterate given the nature of 2 other threads on this site its clearly about our CEO.

When I saw it I thought you were referring to the owner of this site……

Did you, not sure if your serious or trying hard to be obtuse? As its clearly about Scot Gardiner who's the ringmaster in this circus.
