  1. Suggest that at away games at Ibrox next season (assuming they happen) we should only buy tickets if they'll accept £2.50 or whatever, ie, 10p in the pound. And I'm not paying more than 20p for one of their over-priced pies.
  2. Hearts will sink but I doubt if they'll be in the relegation mix. County could well survive comfortably. Not sure Hibs will improve much and I can see more managerial changes there. St Mirren did very well with good signings this season but they are already starting to lose their greedier players, so with a bit of luck they might sink towards the bottom. Aberdeen, always rubbish, will remain so yet somehow not get caught in the relegation scramble. But my predictions are always mince so the above can be safely ignored.
  3. Was looking forward to the P and J today to read Chris Crighton's weepy Aberdeen Fan's View and he certainly didn't let me down, giving the impression that only ABerdeen were playing and that it's all their own fault for not winning. But the actual match report - forget the guy's name, not Paul Third, the other one - was pretty much as Aberdeenoid as the Fan's View. He admitted that Caley had scorched the first half but the whole tone was about how disappointing it was that Aberdeen are rubbish and it really ought to better than this and it's no fair etc. Enjoyable reading for all that.
  4. At risk of being ostracised, I hope they beat the Old Firm and, frankly, a COunty-Raith Rovers final would be hugely refreshing and a great thing for Scottish football.
  5. Douglas Campbell is The Herald's tame Plastic Whistle supporter. Last time Caley got a result against them he did the match report and it was the sourest, whingiest I've ever read, just what you'd expect from one of the Firhill surname clan. Maybe he's grown up.
  6. Great first half performance - why is Tuffey at Plastic Whistle? Much too good for them, only he kept the score respectable. Much tougher in the second half, yet few saves to make for Esson - huge performances at the back by Golly and Rossco, and I thought the RussDunc was immense as well. Happily, even with all their pressure, Plastic Whistle were woeful finishers; even when that ball trickled into the six yard box late on they didn't look to have a clue what to do with it. Us Weegie and Proud types particularly enjoy results like this; Plastic Whistle supporters are demanding greetinfaces almost as bad as Old Firm supporters and it gives me a wee glow to think of the tears being shed into fancy cocktails in the poncier bars of Byres Road tonight.
  7. Central belters might be interested in the Scotland v England U16 international at Tynecastle on Thursday. Liam Polwarth of ICT is in the Scotland squad. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_ne...amp;newsID=5270
  8. Second half we just gave too much time and space to Dundee and stopped pressuring them. That was the key difference for me. Agree about enjoyment of the first half. It took me back to mad goal rushes back in the Pele days. Hayes was electric, classic ICT wing play. Apparently some Dundee fans did leave at half-time. I wish I had.
  9. WHat's all this about TB insisting on a Sunday training 'even though some of our players have flights booked'? Are all his English signings commuting from Brentford or somewhere?
  10. Aye. Maybe the stadium's not paid for yet. Mind you, at least they opened the pie stall. Last reserve game v Celtic at Caleystade I went to was free entry.
  11. Gatheussi played quite well in the role, I thought. A fair bit of good play by Caley but rarely looked like scoring. Some thoughts on the Nou Buddiedrome - nice, bright, but feels awfy wee compared to Love St. Right across the road from St James' Station, if you don't fancy leaving the car in Feegie Park (thoughthe car park is tarmac with spaces marked - as never likely to happen at CaleySatde!) But four quid for a reserve game?
  12. Anyone else planning to go along tomorrow? Also a first chance to visit the new Buddiedrome.
  13. All the best to BW. Look forward to his eventual return in whatever capacity!
  14. Outsider - John McGlynn at Raith Rovers? Done OK there, previously he held Hearts together after Burley walked, it was only after Rix took over that they fell apart.
  15. I don't think the cup tie is that unimportant. We need a good cup run. And after that miserable night at Firhill a couple of seasons ago we really, really don't want to go out again to Plastic Whistle. And Brew just being there, still, will give the opposition a lift.
