  1. Definitely going to go. On the bright side, if there's a poor turnout from ICT, I doubt if it'll be much of a draw for Celtic fans either (albeit probably more will come from the Highlands to support them tan ICT). Big empty spaces in the stands. Might help us, more used to playing in ghostly empty stadiums, rather than them. It's my straw and I'm clutching it.
  2. It doesn't seem to be working but I hate ditching managers which can in itself be hugely disruptive - especially given that, realistically, ICT aren't high on the keen-to-go list of even desperate, out-of-work managers. Some posters have been suggesting revamping the coaching team and set-up to provide Richie with more and better support/advice. That's surely the best option. (Preferably before the cup tie at Celtic - most of us have already written that one off but in our present state, losing 3-0 at Accies, the trip to Across the Road from the Emirates could be embarrassing)
  3. There will be a cash gate, I hope? Accies were still trailing yesterday's game as their next fixture when I looked at their website.
  4. Not a 'must win' more of a 'if we can't win this what can we win?'. Gonnae be a long, cold night in Hamilton on Tuesday...
  5. Other than financially it's a terrible draw, but; - It was a draw full of terrible draws. Other than Stirling/Clyde or Ayr/QPFC I'd have been feart of any other team at the moment. Celtic is at least predictably terifying - It was, other than financially, a terrible draw in Feb 2000. Other than financially, it was a terrible draw for Denzil's winner at TCS. And it was the worst possible semi-final draw, and we all know how those turned out. Like, I suspect, many on here, I have no hope at all on current form, but history is on our side. Kinda.
  6. Since this appears to be the thread for it, a Happy New Year to the ICT online community from Doon Here.
  7. Got one of those throwback things on the Facebook computer thingy letting me know that on this day in 2012 we'd been 2nd in the Spiffle Premier. 'Thanks,' I said.
  8. Hardly - likely that more people will be travelling from the Highlands to support the new club than to support ICT. Pelt me with snowballs if you like but though this game is handy for me, I'm not going. I refuse to give any money to the successors of the team that robbed Scottish football and is trying to do so again. Give them money and they'll only waste it.
  9. Charles, I am gobsmacked. Well do I recall walking past yon place en route to TCS on match days. Mad place. In Glasgow it's said the local Muslim population tend towards Celtic, green being an Islamic colour. Anyway, get in about them tonight and show them nae respect.
  10. Wish I could be there. Nothing to fear from this mob. They have, as someone stated above, 'a wealthy budget' but it's all on tick and they've wasted much of it. Have every confidence the team can dish out a lesson to this unloved new club and send the away end back to the Portland Club (is that place still going?) in disgust.
  11. Share your concerns but let's not go overboard on demanding spending. The way Celtic are spending, and Rangers are back to spending money they don't have - do we really want to be part of a Scottish Football that repeats all the mistakes of the past? It's early days and things may yet change - but I do fear an onslaught of 'WHY THE NEGATIVITY?????? GET BEHIND THE TEAM AND BELIEEEEEVE!!!!!' posts.
  12. Only been at Cowdenbeath for Stock Car Racing. Which was rubbish. Remember back in what's now League 1 (I think) away to Arbroath being distracted by the sunset.
  13. It's a gamble which might be inspired and the start of something remarkable or might be something else entirely but the main thing is the uncertainty ends and the club can plan for the new season. Hopefully RF has demonstrated qualities that show he can be a terrific manager (and, in due course, probably move on somewhere else). Hopefully he has told the board that there are certain players he wants to see added and expects to have them funded. Next I hope he looks at the youth set-up. And third, organises a pre-season friendly v Kirkie Rob Roy.
  14. Just pointing out Gus McPherson has got Queen's Park up to League 1 playing some terrific football for their level. Player budget, of course, zero. Slightly below ours.
  15. Well, it was a better game than our final but I think our supporters (and Falkirk's) should be applauded for the right way to respond at the end. English Cup Final just looked boring when I tuned in.
  16. Was never a big fan of Hughes but didn't at any stage want him to leave as change and uncertainty are, well, changey and lacking in certainty. Dunno who is likely to be interested or if the board has anyone in view. Dunno anything actually, as others have suggested above. But change, uncertainty, gaaah! I suppose there's no chance but it would be awfy nice if Celtic fans got hyped up about the possibility of Brendan Rodgers and ended up with Yogi...
  17. C'mon, Yogi, send a team down to Guy's Meadow for a pre-season v the Kirkie Rob Roy. Caley can have some Roy subs if the transfer window is proving unfortunate.
  18. Remember his first outing, a 3-4 defeat at Ice Station Broadwood (those were the days...). Some great memories of his better performances, but we should really have had a recorded message saying 'keep yer mouth shut Robson!' to save wear-and-tear on supporter vocal chords. IIRC he was on loan at Forfar for the 3-1 at Sellick Park.
  19. There's a lad from Leicester on loan at Raith Rovers. Can we have some next season please?
  20. Delighted to see this. Will be there as I'm working nearby and I had feared that I might be there myself (home stand included).
  21. What's the latest with Inverness City? I gather that, for no obvious reason, they are being evicted from their latest pitch by the cooncil, by no means for the first time. What, exactly, is it with cooncils?
  22. Anyway, back on topic or nearly so, the best pies available at any fitba ground on the planet (or probably any planet) are the ones at Largs Thistle in the Juniors, And they also do chili and rice as a matchday feed. In July the club should send the second string doon for a friendly, You'll see what I mean.
  23. 'All kick-offs are 3.00pm unless stated ' should probably read 'Your match probably isn't at 3pm or even on a Saturday unless it says so and it serves you right for not being a corporate sponsor or TV company you unwelcome non-OF supporting little oik - signed, Neil Doncaster'
  24. Keep on playing, keep on attracting supporters (though I fear the return of the union jack mob will bring even more of the Invernessian Loyal back out of the shadows), hopefully be able to field more local youngsters, win the odd cup, stay as much as possible in Spiffle 1 and get as high up as possible. Can't really hope for more. But there will be good days and bad days and its the former we live by.
  25. It'll be like a Challenge Cup final.
