  1. Now that we have a taste for watching a live transmission of a friendly match, any word on how we will be able to watch the competitive games coming up, starting with Hearts in the League Cup this coming Tuesday? There was a mention of this being on Premier Sports. Forgive my ignorance, but how can this channel be accessed? Then what about our home games in both the LC and Championship? With current Covid restrictions, I can't see fans being allowed inside any stadiums this side of Christmas. Until then our season tickets will remain 'virtual'. There is nothing on the official club website about transmission arrangements yet. Perhaps I should have posted this reply on the Season Ahead thread.
  2. Aside from the bigger issue of the very survival of clubs, if there is no chance of fans being able to attend games in person for the foreseeable, will we be able to watch live on tv and at no extra cost if we have bought season tickets? I recall that being mentioned for the first 2 or 3 games behind closed doors around the time of promoting ST sales. The prospect of being in the hands of the hard to find and possibly costly Premier Sports channel does not fill me with enthusiasm either. This could lose us even more fans.
  3. County look to be in freefall again anyway, just like they were before last season was put on hold. They were saved from plunging further and possible relegation by Covid 19. Perhaps they'll need a second wave and lockdown to save them this season.
  4. Pre-ordered 2 copies today and made a donation. Will look forward to reading it in due course.
  5. Anyone else hear about the premiership players drinking in the Heathmount whilst watching Aberdeen v Rangers on TV on the opening day of the season?
  6. I agree that not having a Premiership team in our section will help. There was always the concern that being so far behind one of these teams in terms of match fitness we would get absolutely pumped. Yes, "North" is a joke. We are the only team north of the Tay. I also don't know why there are three Championship teams in our section. If Brora draw Hibs at home that will be interesting. County also have a reasonably easy section with only Arbroath as a bit of a hurdle.
  7. All three strips still look good though.
  8. Roll on October when we can get back to talking about playing football again.
  9. My good lady and I held back from booking holidays that summer until we found out the opposition. We would have been very happy with a trip to Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Turkey, Croatia, etc and would have happily gone for a week or 10 days. When we found out it was Romania we thought okay that sounds awkward and hoped for a better place in the next round. It was once we started checking out flights by our favourite airline, KLM, the trip all fell into place. Aberdeen-Amsterdam-Bucharest was a doddle and only 3 hrs 40 mins in the air in total. The hotel in the Bucharest Old Town and the airport transfers by private hire car were also booked through KLM, and combined with the flights worked out at £375 each. With the well organised buses, the match itself, the camaraderie with other ICT fans and locals we met, the cheap food and drink, all the sights and fabulous weather, we had one of the best holidays ever over the course of our 5 days and 4 nights trip. It was so memorable and we look back fondly on it, even although my other half doesn't care too much for football.
  10. I hear that Loch Ness FC have managed to sell over 800 of their new shirts with the Nessies on them. Selling that many of our new home shirts would be a major achievement.
  11. So is the red and black striped top with black shorts etc the third choice kit?
  12. Not a squeak as far as I know. Perhaps you have to ask for one. With no guarantee that the new season will start in October or if it does and matches are behind closed doors, I imagine there won't be a mad rush for season tickets.
  13. A excellent statement from the club. Hopefully most clubs will stick their heads up above the parapet and back it. It's quite amusing to see the Sellick trolls on Twitter thinking it's part of the conspiracy to stop them winning 9 in a row.
  14. Perhaps so and might explain why #OfficialICTFC follows them on Twitter.
  15. I was watching the 2012 Scottish Cup final highlights on BBC Scotland Channel last night, the game when Hearts beat Hibs 5-1. MotM was Ian Black who ran the show for Hearts and Mark Brown was in goal for Hibs. Mark Ridgers was on the bench for Hearts that day. I also remember us playing Hibs the week before the final in Inverness, beating them 2-0 going on 5 or 6.
  16. I always thought he should have been given a player/assistant coach role up here before he was told his services were no longer required.
  17. I really fear that our squad is too threadbare, especially in defence, to be able to sustain the challenge for promotion. Even if we did make it to the play off with second bottom in the Premier we may be embarrassed.
  18. I'm still trying to understand why this venue has been selected and what facilities will be available to those who won't wish to pay £1000 for 10 people for entry to the game, pre-match drink, half time pie & pint, full time stovies and meet the players in the "exclusive hospitality suite". The facilities at Canal Park are excellent for Highland Rugby Club's needs at present and a crowd of 500 to 600. More than that and they are a bit stretched all round, which I know from attending a few of the Highland RFC games this season. Part of that experience also includes being able to drink alcohol before, during and after the game, and outside as well. Will that be allowed for at Ryan's testimonial? I'm sure this aspect will suit a number of our hardy fans. I would hope that at least our regular home crowd will attend to honour Ryan. So 1500-2000 or more will not be catered for by current facilities, unless of course these are to be supplemented by temporary toilets and food and drinks serveries. In addition, there are no seats or a covered grandstand to watch the game from. The only elevated view of the pitch is from the first floor level balcony in front of the bar. Otherwise it's a free for all around the pitch-side barrier on two sides only. More information on the arrangements would be welcome therefore.
  19. Or we get James Keatings masks with captions like "innocent" or "Greg Aitken is a w#nker".
  20. Another trip to Mcdairmid Park for the final then.
  21. Yup, fecked over by the SFA and BBC yet again!! Guaranteed low turn out from away support and I'm not even able watch it live on tv due a long standing commitment to another event that night.
