Just heard that Golly tweaked a hamstring and is out for Queens game... and who is in...... Lionel!!!! no problems with that, Lionel will be lb Proc rb, so change might be good for the defence as we look to get 3 points from a difficult tie.

I did say he LOOKS a player, but he gets let down by positional faults.

Esson has proved he is probably the best keeper in the first div, he will get an SPL game no prob. Foran will move on, he signed on for one season and targeted 20 goals for us... Hayes has proved although young he can be a dangerous player, and is out of contracr, thus will be a target. Odihambo looks a good player and will more than likely leave. Stratford/Eagle/Cox are not good enough i feel, and will not be resigned. Golly will not get another season. Roy Mcbain will be out of contract and will get snapped up by a smaller team. Imrie is not as good as he thinks he is, but can be spectacular, he could find a bigger team. Barrowman.... well he's got another 1.5 seasons on a big salary. So the next manager will have some rebuilding to do for season 10/11.. hope CC and BW can cope!

Mmmmmm.. our managers intuition led him to sign Eagle/Stratford/Cox, you would have thought that two ex International defenders would be able to sort out our defence by now but it aint happening is it? Bulvitis looks a player though and he may turn out to be a big player if we can sort out the poor marking.

Its a worrying scenario, if at the end of the season we are not winning the league Butch will be off as his remit was to keep us in the SPL/or win us the 1st Div ( and this is not looking too likely) as said above most of our good players will but snapped up, Esson,Imrie,Foran,Hayes,Odihambo, Cox will be off with Eagle/Stratford. This will leave us with no money, the parachute payment is spent paying off the Romanian so we can only afford a average manager or gamble on a up and coming manager who may not have the connections to sign decent players. Butch has been an expensive gamble which hopefully might pay off, but i cant see it.

The telling factor is defence ! the season we won the league we lost 1 game at home, ever since we lost Dods we have had a poor defensive record. Look at Butchers signings for this season - only one player is looking the business - Hayes, the rest - forget it and that includes Bulvitus. The gudgie gypo from over the bridge nailed it by saying we cant beat anyone in the top five! and that is a fact. I've tranferred meself from optimist to a leaning pessimist, and i cant see us getting a result next week either. :( :(

Add to this an away defeat to Queens next week (probably) and its our season fecked. Butcher needs to halt the goals against soon.

I went to see Scotland under Brown 2 or 3 times, I never went back while he was manager - so feckin negative and boring.

I said much worse to that useless linesman in front of our stand. Pretty much the rollercoaster as normal from us this season, talk about highs and lows!! craic was brill before the game in the Tulloch inst. Pity we couldnt stay tight for another 10 mins in the second half, but i worry about our defensive frailty in the coming league games.

Just heard on the radio that the Irish are going to appeal to UEFA on this issue, cant see them getting anywhere though! The pundits commentating last night were going nuts, saying Henry should have chased the ref and owned up to the foul! ha ha as if, i cannot remember ever a player owning up to a hand ball. He got his team to the world cup, and they got there really because of crap officials.

From what I can see, I got chunk of the, shall we say, less bright posters, are over 18. Eh.. forgive me for being older.. but what does this mean? what a brightness got to do with being a fan? Anyway, since we have been struggling in the SPL, IE last two seasons and also this season it looks to me that most of the really negative posts are from younger forum members, impatient/impetous younger fans post what they feel and dont look at the bigger picture. The fans who have also seen the rise of ICT though the leagues to the SPL have more understanding of our place in football and lets face it we are a wee team. I get the feeling that this topic has aired a lot of feelings and things will quieten down for a spell untill.....

Why dont the board admin just ban the erseholes causing unrest? after all the run of the mill users wont miss them one bit as all they seem to do is argue with mods and wind up other users. They all appear in P & B slagging off all and sundry anyway, better off without them.

The admins/moderators job is a thankless job, and i agree with you that there is a lot more shyte flying about on the forum these days, this however is vastly outweighed by the sensible and resonable posts from most users. Have a yellow/red card system for breaching the rules -personal abuse should result in a ban, after all there is a facilty to keep arguments private -PM's.

But have ICT been notified by FIFA how they came to their decision in this case, thought we were waiting to see this before we decided to appeal?
