  1. According to met office it's in all day. :D http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/he/...st_weather.html
  2. And to think I stuck up for you. Well no more my boy. "We won it 5 times, In Istanbul we won it 5 times"
  3. Now I'm no fan of Manure but everybody always gets on at their fanbase's locations I'm sure the same could be said of many of the old firm fans as well. I often see their tops being worn around Sneck and wonder if the person has even been south of Perth. BUT to be honest I don't really see the problem with supporting a team from a place you haven't been born and bred in. I was brought up in Australia and the 1st game of footy I saw was Liverpool vs somebody or other. Can't remember the score, who they played or if they even won/lost. When I returned to England I saw them and thought yep they're the team for me and have supported them ever since.
  4. I see what you mean, they don't play another "top 4" side until February. Having said that neither do Manure.
  5. Is there really any need to react like that to Feb 8 2000's post? I'm a Liverpool fan and can't stand Manure but I respect the fan's rights to support their team and post their views on here. If you don't agree say so but in a normal fashion without having a personal go at the poster. It's people like you that caused the "CTO future" thread. I think you should take a good long look at yourself and think about what you're posting before you submit it. Moderation for the masses by the masses. PS: Yes I've been to Anfield. Many times
  6. It's called optimism, I know this is an unknown entity in Scottish football but in Engerland it is quite normal. I must admit though they do go a bit over the top but hey why not. Why should they be filled with doom and gloom about the prospect of England doing well. To be honest if England are on their best form with all players fit they could do well. It all depends which England turns up at the tournament. They have a reasonable group to contend with and should progress to the next stage without too much bother. (Will I live to regret those words?) What you lot seem to forget is it's not the team or fans creating all this hysteria, it's the media. The fans know that at some stage it will all fall apart. We have a great tradition of building it all up and then knocking it all down again. Why am I letting myself be dragged into this with 6mths to go? God, it's going to be a long winter. :023:
  7. I refuse to take the bait with 6 months or so to go before it all kicks off. I'm sure by the time it does I will have had lots of "discussions" with you and the other Algeria/Slovenia/America supporters. :P
  8. Engerland Engerland Engerland, Engerland Engerland Engerlaaaaannnnnddddd. Just thought I'd start practicing early. ;)

Your last seven words concern me. I do not think the 'younger posters' require to be encouraged unconditionally, they require to toe the line when posting and accept that a certain standard has to be set. If they require to be Forum upstarts let them blow off steam on P & B and come on here once they have seen sense. I have posted, in the past, my appreciation of this forum but there is no doubt that in the recent past postings have gone downhill. If we accept that postings must reflect the onfield/support behaviour then we are in for a hard time on here. Losing in this league is something we will have to get used to but we could still end up in a good place - better placed for next season for instance. Childish postings should not be tolerated. I feel we are suffering from a small minority of 'problem puppies' and this should not spoil it for the rest of us. . Sorry, I'm late in coming back to this (that work thing again) and the argument has probably moved on again. Again, absent friend, I respect but don't agree with your point of view. My use of the word "unconditional" was carefully considered and used because the "conditions" of use of this site are not at all clear (in a broad sense). If they are not, people will seek to impose their own conditions ("childish postings etc. , problem puppies, upstarts) If that happens, like any diverse family, we will descend into acrimony. That's when the parents go "......this for a game of soldiers" and...you get the picture. Accept that people hold different views. Accept that they will wind each other up and if they are young and pushing it (isn't that what young people do?) shake your head, point out a better way and realise it's a long game and they will learn. If they don't, we might just have to live without them. But not arbitarily and only if they understand fully the rules that they have broken. I'm sorry that 7 words concerned you; it should have only been the 1. Sorry Davie but I must agree with AF here, On the one hand you say we should encourage them unconditionally, then you state that if they don't learn then we will have to live without them. That sort of contradicts itself. If we allow any group (Young or old) to do what they wish without rules and regs in any part of life then we descend into anarchy. That may seem a bit strong for a forum but you get the message. You also state that if we don't agree, shake our heads and point out that it's a long game. Ok and if they still keep slagging you or somebody else do we just encourage them unconditionally? You state the rules of the site are not clear enough. I do not need rules to tell me to respect others and try to add objective posts rather than some of the vile bigotted drivel that has been posted on here in the recent past. I do accept that the younger posters are the future of the club but please don't bury us old farts just yet some of us still have a bit of life left in us.
  10. I know that being "Engerlish" doesn't really give me a right to comment on the Scotalnd manager BUT, I wouldn't want Pele to take the post because if he is ready to go back into management there is a post a lot nearer to home that he should consider. Yes I know it's not vacant at the moment but it maybe in the near future. And for what it's worth I think Walter Smith would be your best bet.

What is this P&B I hear you all talking about? Sorry if these seems a bit random but I've not managed to suss it out for myself. :)

Agree with everything you said Smee. The only thing is why should others put up with it? Someone goes to the match , we lose, he/she then comes on here and starts an arguement or slagging others off because of their views. Why should others suffer that abuse? The answer is they shouldn't but it happens. I think name and shame is a good idea, people might think twice if their name is up for all to see.

I feel that as an Englander that has come up here and made Sneck my home, I can give a fair and honest "outsiders" point of view. The board started long before I was in Sneck and will hopefully last well into the future. I started coming on here to find out what was happening with ICT and with the hope of meeting new friends. Whilst I have not personally met any of you I do feel that I can come on here and chat or ask for advice, wether it be about football or IT or anything else for that matter. Yes there are those on here that only seem out to bully others and slag others whenever possible but by and large most on here are friendly and helpful. I think it is a true reflection of life in general. If you put a lot of people from different backgrounds together you will get arguements and differences of opinion. Believe me, this is nothing compared to the forces as many on here will testify. Unfortunately on here some know they will probably never meet so they feel they can get away with saying things they would not normally have the balls to say face to face. As for the mods, I feel they do a fine job and are pretty much fair to all. I have been involved in a couple of "discussions" with a certain member of the site and these discussions have sometimes pushed the boundries but "as far as I'm aware" my warning has not gone up and I haven't been spoken to by any mods. So in my opinion, they are not saying you can't have your say just be a little more respectful about how you say it. Remember there are kids on here. As for the restricting new posters to one post a day, I feel that would be a bad idea for two reasons: 1. A thread could take days to get going. 2. A new poster may lose interest having to keep coming back every day just to insert one post. I do like the idea of yellow/red cards, then instead of waiting for a poster's warning to go all the way to 100% you could hit him with 2 cards and then ban him. As long as there is an appeal system just as in football itself. In regards to mods deleting/editing posts, whilst I can see a necessity for it to be done, I think that a reason should always be given. This reason should be clear and fair not just as mentioned earlier in the thread as "because I said so". The mods do pretty much adhere to this but I have seen the odd edit/delete done with no explanation. Whilst I swear like a trooper in day to day life, I try my utmost not to on here. I feel that we all sit and think what we are writing before we do it so surely we can edit our thoughts before posting them. I do however understand the use of some expletives to stress the amount of emotion we are feeling at times. I myself have found the need to use certain phrases to express my feelings in previously mention discussions but surely we can all be a little more restrained and limit it to the odd "feck" here and there. I'm sure some of you will agree with what I've said and some will not. You have this right just as I have the right to say it in the first place and that my friends is what it's all about. Anyway, all that I have left to say is well done to Scotty and the team for doing a job that is thankless and something I would not like to be doing. Long may it continue.
  15. Before i say anything. I have the highest respects for the soliders dispite what i may have said in the past. As the song goes "Men of the British Working class, Soldiers over night. Tossed into a melting pot, of bloody war and strife. Never understanding, always fearing for their lives". What i am about to say is not condoning or supporting what happened. It is just my views and the views of other Celtic fans i have spoken to. I obviously do not speak for all the Celtic fans that walked out. I feel that if the rememberance was just for WW1 & 2 i would have no problem. They were, in my opnion, legitimate wars and they had to be fought. But, the problem for me is that it is now a rememberance for ALL wars after the First World War. This is what i feel the problem is. I respect the soldiers. But i cannot remember them in good light as they fought in wars i am totally against. But if one day, which i know it will never happen, the Goverment who i feel are the real criminals in all this, turn around and say they were wrong to go into these countries and accept they are to belame, then i will go a memorial sevice every year. As it stands though, they think they were correct as always, the soldiers fought in a war which in my opinion was wrong, and so, i choose not to remember those. Though i do take time out to remember the men who died during the First and Second World Wars. Another slating i predict! Whilst I don't agree with your views I do respect you have the right to hold them. I agree that it's the government's fault we are at war. Surely though you can see that it's not the soldiers' fault they are there? You say if Govenment admitted they were wrong you would "remember" them. The soldier who died does not change because of the reason the war was started or by who it was started. He is still someones son/brother/husband/father. He is still fighting for his country wether the war is just or not. During the 2 mins silence you are not being asked to remember the war, you are being asked to remember the men and women that fell in them. It was only a small section of Celtic fans that spoiled it which surely means that most observed it or at least respected the right of others to do so. I do not respect the enemy we fight in all these wars, but I respect their right to remember their dead.
  16. Whilst I'm sure there are nice respectable fans on both sides of the old firm, there does seem to be a lot of vile bigoted scum attached to these teams. I think that even the most ardent fan must condemn the goings on of both sets of idiots over the last couple of incidents. As the OP states, we were all quick to jump on Rangers "fans", how do we feel about the Celtic "fans"? I know how I feel about interupting the minute silence but better not put it on here as my warning might go up a tadge. I would be very interested to hear DornochCaley's views. This is not to wind him up but as he is the most outspoken Celtic fan on here, it would be interesting to here it from his point of view. Surely even he will not condone what was done?
  17. He was found not guilty of punching a nightclub DJ. Exactly, NOT guilty. and where does the rapist, wife beater sh1te come from. He has never been charged or even accused of these. As for the night in question he acted in self defence. He thought the bloke was going to hit him, so he got in first. I'd do the same. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ju...-verdict-affray
  18. Why is Owen(s) (sic) a mercenary more than any other player? He moved to Real. Did very well but didn't get on with the manager. Tried to move back to Liverpool but 'pool didn't have the money demanded by Madrid, so had to go somewhere else. Likewise, when his contract ran out with Newcastle, Liverpool didn't come in for him, so he moved somewhere else. What's he supposed to do? Not play for any other club? Turn down the chance to play for the English Champions in the very top flight but instead go to the likes of Hull because the club he wanted to go to didn't want him back? Madness! I await your hammering of Dennis Wyness or Barry Wilson, who both did much the same with Hearts and Livi, i.e. move on for a challenge and better money. And how dare they sign for a fellow relegation struggler in St Mirren (so Denzil tried to get ICT relegated) and QoS (plays for the north then goes as far south as he can and deliberately plays to win thus denying ICT points as they attempt to go back up). Yep. I cant see the problem. I hate Liverpool and United though. Naturally :D
  19. "Gerrard? Isn't he the thug caught on television? Is he the wife beater, the rapist or the nose breaker, Allegedly. Then I wish him nothing but ill will." What channel are you watching?
  20. Michael Owen has always thought about Michael Owen and nothing else. Stevie G is Liverpool through and through. As I stated earlier, he may leave Anfield but there is no way he will ever play for Manure. Real, Chelsea or some other top club maybe, Manure never.
  21. There is no way on this earth that Stevie G would go to Manure. I accept he may leave Liverpool but he will never go there.
  22. "Gerrard, get a life- go to United now - you know it makes sense!" Like that's really going to happen.
  23. "Hilarious! Liverpool fans get their comeuppance. Dorks!" Please elaborate as to why: 1. They got their comeuppance 2. Why they are all dorks The "GOAL" was scored after just 5 minutes so how can you say that Sunderland deserved the goal. I will agree that over the whole game Sunderland deserved the win but the goal should not have been given. You obviously have a deep knowledge of all things football south of the border, so please enlighten us with the reasons for your pathetic outburst. PS: Yes, as well as ICT I support Liverpool.
