  1. Without taking anything for Granted, Raith will be tricky opponents, getting this close to the semi final makes me reflect on how far we have come since our last semi finals when we were massive underdogs not only against Dundee but against the mighty Dunfermline.
  2. My main memory of that day apart from the plethora of Killie scarves on the pitch at the end was a mature and rather rotund Bobby who was policing the enclosure who revealed himself as a Jaggie when he threw up both arms and cheered loudly when the third goal went in and when I smiled at him 'questioned his neutrality' showed me the red and black scarf he had concealed in his pocket.
  3. Almost certainly...
  4. Very happy with that. No room to be complacent but play to our potential and the semi final beckons and then the dream is on.
  5. The pedant in me can't resist pointing out that the only team in the draw which is not a SPFL team is Spartans.
  6. Berwick ? and they are still in the cup True but a bit harsh to overlook Cove..
  7. Ah fond memories...and,despite the result, also of the next round at Parkhead complete with Murd Urquhart's 'assault' on Danny McGrain after he had the temerity to take out the legend that was Alastair ' Titchy' Black....
  8. The one and only boast that County have over us is the fact that they have reached the final of the Scottish Cup and we have not. This season presents the perfect opportunity to put that right.....and, for that matter, go one better...
  9. Berwick/ Spartans at home would be ideal but, at this stage, with such an open draw, anyone bar Dundee United or Celtic. Perfect, in fact, if they were pitched against one another,
  10. Expecting caley d next to continue with this staunch defence Unlike Mckay, that's Caley D with a capital letter !
  11. I'm afraid Januarys will always be shitey if we're doing well! Were a small "selling" club, so will lose good players to wealthier teams. We might be p!ssed off with our lot, but Hamilton have done even worse. Not many fans of Scot Prem teams are very happy - Celtic and Aberdeen were the only winners. Hamilton, however, have a million pounds in the bank to ease the pain...more once the development fee for Stephen Hendrie is added.
  12. Or even...Come on the Jags !
  13. If Meekings is only willing to sign a one year deal why not give him one assuming the salary being asked is reasonable. That way we have him for another season with the option of cashing in in January. Not exactly ideal but a whole lot better than losing him for sure in May and for nothing.
  14. Further reports that both Raven and Meekings, while keen to stay, are frustrated by lack of progress in getting deals tied up. Now that the transfer window has come and gone, can we please prioritise getting these vital players secured. It's hard enough getting quality players to come to the Highlands, it would be criminal to let two who are content with life here slip away.
  15. Unfortunately this club needs a minimum of £200k per year to maybe wash it's face so this was probably a godsend to the board. £200,000 is approximately what it takes to run the club for three weeks.....
  16. Your tendency to back the club come what may is commendable but there are a couple factual inaccuracies. Whilst still towards the bottom of the scale, we no longer have either the lowest turnover or the smallest player budget in the division and, while Celtic have a massive budget compared to any other cub in the country, they don't have 'an income base that's literally a hundred times bigger than ours'. Their turnover is closer to twenty times ours. A huge gulf still but nothing like a hundred. The only clubs in the World that have anything close to a hundred times our income are Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United. You make fair points but there is no need to exaggerate to do so.
  17. If the contingency plan was indeed the guy at Southend maybe we were fortunate he didn't want to come.
  18. I am not sure that the failure to replace the one crucial payer we have lost in this transfer window bodes well for what is likely to have to be a far more radical recruitment process in the Summer.
  19. Dundee United may have weakened but they have strengthened their defence and have the advantage of a striker or two in their first team squad including one rather good one. I appreciate that we have to be financially prudent but we have £150,000 and Billy's salary to play with. Not to have found a replacement when every other team in the league have brought in at least one player smacks a little of incompetence and a lot of lack of ambition when a historic first for the cub was in sight. We already had far and away the smallest squad of the top four which is now smaller still. Was the contingency plan to wait and then scrape the barrel of free agents ?
  20. Didn't exactly set the heather on fire on his last spell in the Gaeltacht.
  21. Your blind faith is commendable but whilst everyone around us is signing players the silence from tcs is deafining while at the same time a bit scary, Unless of course your 'in the know' in which case spill My faith is not blind and I am not ' in the know'. My conviction is based on the common sense that we can't complete the season and remain competitive without a striker combined with the Chairman's earlier assurance.
  22. Have faith. Remember the Chairman's comment that we had a contingency plan in faith. I am sure he wasn't referring to muddling along with what we have.
  23. Not of a player contracted to a club. After today all we can sign are players without a club. I remain convinced that we will see at least one new face. It would be folly not to.
  24. Not being able to afford all of his wages doesn't seem to have prevented The Rangers having him on their books.
  25. I hope they know the cut off is before 12am 12am is Midnight. That's a matter for debate, Twelve noon is Meridiem.. Could be argued that twelve midnight is neither post or ante Meridiem but merely twelve midnight.
