  1. I disagree. Penalties are part of the game. Adam is good at them, Billy, whatever his other qualities, is not.
  2. Is anyone able to post updates on this match ?
  3. The main thing is that the window is now closed an our squad is intact.
  4. Given time, they probably could but do County have time for that approach and would their generous chairman be prepared to take the hit of relegation in the meantime ?
  5. Hopefully when it slams shut at the end of today Billy, Josh and all the others in our fine squad will still be safely on the right side of it. Ideally, would be nice if they were joined by another experienced forward but the crowd of less than 3,000 to watch the league leaders on a lovely late Summer afternoon is hardly going to bolster the recruitment kitty. If we don't manage to bring in anyone then we can hardy be blaming either JH or the board.
  6. There would be a certain satisfaction in TB donning his flasher coat and bunnett again and leading Hibs and County to relegation in successive seasons...
  7. Surely JH is a stick on for August Manager Of The Month.
  8. Why were the Rangers permitted to delay their first round match in the first place ?
  9. Scottish football being manipulated to benefit the Rangers...surely not....
  10. Goood performance and great result. It may have been a 'weakened' Celtic team but I would be interested to cpmpare the combined salary of their starting eleven to ours. I am sure the difference would be at least five fold and probably a good deal more. Credit to yogi and the coaching staff for this one. He was right we did ride our luck a bit in the first half but so did Celtic the half time score could well have been 2 all. What did confuse me was his reference to the last 25 minutes as being 'like the Alamo'. From where I was sitting, we dealt with Celtic with the utmost ease with hardly a single scare after we scored.
  11. so dont !!! any more politics - from either perspective - on this thread will be deleted Sorry mate , but delete away if you want Won't delete but, in view of ignoring the clear warning given, you are now banned from posting on this particular thread,
  12. Pedantry in the extreme but the rule is that the goal kick is taken again. If it were retaken again it would be taken for at least a third time....think I need to get out more..
  13. Yogi signs another of his former players shock !
  14. We might be getting Celtic at a good time given all the uncertainty surrounding their European travails this week.
  15. Merely putting it in the context of the dozens of other posts you have made in the same vein. Can we please just give it a rest and concentrate on celebrating what was probably the best performance of John Hughes's tenure.
  16. You seem obsessed. Is there any need to inject such negativity into what up until then had been an entirely positive thread ? These suggestions that there are fans anxious for the team to fail have become beyond tedious.
  17. A few more results and performances like that and those of us with doubts about JH will happily queue up for extra slices of humble pie.
  18. The only disappointment is that County are too far away from us in the table for us even to cast a shadow over them.
  19. If the plan is to retain the ball largely in our own half with little concern to attack. entertain, score goals or win matches at home then all is going well and there are few shortcomings. If, on the other hand, you like your football seasoned with the odd cutting forward move, some goals and a few home wins then, I continue to maintain that there still might be the odd shortcoming. With regard to your second paragraph, can you cite a few examples of the sort of post you find to be based purely on malice and 'for a laff' ?
  20. You now have that explanation you seek.
  21. Early days but it appears as though we might be in for a lot more of the ineffective and ultimately eye bleeding fare that only brought us two home wins and precious few goals under John Hughes last season. Teams don't even need time to work us out. They did that during the second half of last season and nothing seems to have altered.
  22. No doubt we are doing all we can to keep him but we a small club with a limited budget so that may not prove to be enough.
  23. I don't want Yogi to fail. I have never met him but he comes over as an amiable decent character. It doesn't stop me having concerns about his track record and ongoing shortcomings as a manager. I still can't understand why there are those to continue to equate expressing doubts about his ability with an eagerness for him to fail.
  24. If Frankfurt bid £500,000 or above, unless he is prepared to sign a new two year deal, we should sell.
