Those who were there, McCall said in his post match interview that we had a good 20 minutes and they dominated the rest - McCall sour grapes?

I don’t think so to be honest, they started well, and I honestly couldn’t believe we were 3 up within 18 minutes, every break we got we took. Ayr had most of the ball for the rest of the game and ran us quite close at the end. They had a decent claim for a penalty as well at one point, but then so did we.

A young 'keeper. One mistake. If he has put it behind him then I think we should as well.

Hopefully, Ridgers will be be back on Saturday but, if not, our young custodian will be just fine.

He pulled off a great save right at the start which could have put us one down.

I think now all we need is a striker if possible then we should be set for a push for the play offs :ictscarf:.

I am really impressed with the signing of Darren McAuley and also believe that Anthony MacDonald could be a good signing also.

    Any decent strikers in Thurso?

  4. I can’t believe people are moaning about a Monday night. Especially when the distance between the two clubs is so short.

Scarlett you’ll need to start moaning because you can’t get to Falkirk for 3pm on a Saturday.

There are too many to pick from - the Cup has been fairly good to us.  The night we went ballistic and celtic were atrocious springs to mind but I loved the Dundee Utd reply at home in the 4th round in 98 when we were 2 down with minutes left and still took it to extra time. We my have lost but the atmosphere was electric that day. Great memory

That was one of my better nights on teletext.

  6. Celtic 1-0 March in 2003, those were great days to be an Inverness fan and by far the best atmosphere I’ve witnessed at the stadium. I don’t think there was one player in that squad that I didn’t rate.

  7. There’s got to be some sort of hidden gems in the HL we could attract. I remember when we signed Richie Hart, he was probably one of the last we signed from there and he ran riot in the first division.

I used to exclaim EEK whenever I heard Thistle. Humprey was a pace Merchant at Muvveprsmell. I can recall him roasting Tremarco at Fir Park. So they could be in the Second Division next season ?

Although cove were put out by Auchinleck this season in the Scottish Cup i’d still fancy Cove to win the playoff.

In the past perhaps but our shocking recruitment strategy from the last few years to replace the likes of Shinnie, Watkins, Christie etc would suggest otherwise and is part of the reason we are in the state we are in now.

I think there’s a difference between replacing players when we are 3rd/4th in the top flight to replacing them in the first division.

Wherever he ends up it will be ICT's loss, all down to these idiotic 'boo boys' who have been on his case for years.  No doubt they have already decided who to target next.

So it’s because people moan at him that he’ll be leaving? Surely if a bigger team comes in anybody would be off. Being nice to Shinnie didn’t stop him furthering his career.

  11. I’ve seen East Kilbride a few times over the past 3-4 years. They are ambitious and want to gain promotion to league two as fast as possible.  With them being the second largest town in Scotland by population and even more than Inverness I believe? They will start picking up more and more fans as the years go by. They also managed to get through quite far in the Scottish cup a couple years ago and played Celtic. I think they lost 2-0 but they played well.

Personally, I'm so sick of this constant and unending talk of 'the board' on here.

I support my team, have since I was young and always will. As long as nothing is going wrong financially, I care not one jot who the board are or how/what they communicate with me. I just want them to pick the correct manager, support him as well as they can within budget, and that’s pretty much it.

The only real disconnect I have with the club at the moment is with this site, and the few helmets who take every opportunity to bleat on about perceived issues with the board and seem to think they’re speaking for us all. I go to games, and it’s good crack watching the team (well sometimes…) and seeing folk I know, few beers etc. Come on here however, and it’s always the same few folk constantly whining, and for a fans forum it doesn’t reflect any actual match going fans I know or have met.

Personally, I have no interest in events like this or anything to do with our supporters’ group solely because of individual posters on here who seem to be running or involved with these things (see ridiculous SLO debacle for reference). It’s very clear they have personal issues with those running the club, and seem hell bent on proving points and highlighting any negativity to further their own egos over and above actually supporting the club.

You can say that events like this are not attended because of a disconnect with those running the club, but maybe the reason fans don’t turn up is because a lot of us are just happy to go to games and have no idea what it is you guys actually want? That’s the case for me anyway, it’s not apathy, I just find this all incredibly boring.

I’m even bored with my own post here, this is what CTO has driven me to and I feel ashamed.

    Great post.

Not long since we were winning this cup , how things change. Away wins at Celtic for instance  , well never mind, keep dancing.

Seem to remember a lower league team defeating Celtic in the cup , who was that I wonder ?. Lets all cry in our beer,

I was also there when we’re getting papped out of cups by league one Partick Thistle or League two Queens Park. This is the cup and that’s what makes it so magical, I miss those days of being the serious underdog and making a big day out of it. Days like Motherwell 1-0 where Barry Wilson scored from about 55 yards, taking killie to a replay or the 3-1 at Tynecastle.

the only player that properly came through our setup was ryan as shinnie was 17 when we signed him and gms was only here for a very short time.  still good to be connected with players playing for scotland.

Wasn’t Stuart Armstrong the other mentioned? Shinnie didn’t play the other night.

  15. I’d be more inclined to go if it was on a Friday night. Sometimes a junior game will happen on a Friday night down this way. You see a few more through the gates and I agree under the lights it’s a good spectacle. I put it down to more neutrals going along though who would usually not go as they have other football commitments on a Saturday.
