The issue with taking over a team is that we then are subject to SFA player registration and then if we want to move players between the colts and the first we can only do it twice in a season. Having a colts would allow the club to move players freely between the first team and the colts

If a colt team was to be made players wouldn’t be able to move freely. They would only be able to move during the January or summer transfer windows. I believe this was discussed when the old firm were trying to introduce them into league two.

A friendly against HL will be just that - no player wants an injury on their weekend off from league business.

Need competitive matches to prep the youngsters.

A colt team in the highland league would never be taken seriously. They are a joke. Why the sudden change of heart? We’ve all hated the colt teams in the challenge cup but now it benefits us you want to introduce it.

  3. For what it’s worth if they have an odd number of teams, or don’t promote a team such as Banks O’Dee then I don’t see a problem with us playing the team who has a spare weekend in a friendly. Joining the league is just the same as the old firm wanting their colts in and I disagree with that too.

If the Gruesome Twosome want to enter colt teams in the Lowland League, they can knock themselves out. It’s the expansion of the league to allow them entry I object to.

Lowland league isn’t even the bottom tier.

Even if we are promoted, he is likely to be paid more at County and needs to consider his future.

These things are cyclical. Time was when players like Don Cowie, Ritchie Hart and Andy Barroman moved in the opposite direction for the same reason.

I have little doubt that, in time, the cycle will move on again.

    We signed Richie from Brora.

  6. It’s unfair to let a team who finishes 4th in a league of 10 to be able to win promotion. The playoffs will never suit everyone but they are fun none the less.

If ICT has only won say another 5 games (which were there for the taking), instead of drawing so many, we would have gone up. Thing is tho (and this is still relevant) can we afford the costs involved with going up? The current squad would need improved on massively, to be able to compete in the Chamionship. Is the money there if we go up?

If Livingston can do it on a smaller budget than ourselves I don’t see why not.

all these teams bar Livi and Ayr are lower league. where are all the Prem and Championship reserves playing?

There are two reserve leagues. Last season there was 3, a premiership and two which were split east and west. My point was, if teams like East Kilbride can or Queen of the South then we really have no excuse.

Yes but those increase in fans were away not home fans.

Well let’s thank the away fans for putting some money into the club then. The whole discussion has been on the crowd, not how many home or away fans there will be.

  10. Livingston, who finished 2nd last season averaged 1,300 fans to their home games. When it came to playing Dundee Utd in the semi final playoff they got 4,500 fans and when playing in the final managed 5,500. Their average attendance this season has been 3500 so the crowds should go up for these important matches.

Hey guys, me and a friend are neutrals and are taking in the game tomorrow, we are wondering if there’s a certain pub/places many fans are going to before the game around Hampden?

if this isn’t allowed on the forum feel free to delete.

I’m afraid there has been absolutely no talk of where people are meeting up before this game.

  12. Does anyone actually think a team finishing 4th out of 10 places deserves a crack at promotion? It’s benefitting us and certainly makes the season more interesting but surely 2nd playing 3rd and the winner playing 11/9th depending on what league your in would be better. Failing that 2nd v second bottom like it used to be.

Don’t think there’s any difference. The only difference is at the bottom of Lge2 where club 42 gets a playoff with the winner of the HL/LL champion, which is even less fair. So, on balance...... no, it’s not ?

Difference with league 1 and championship is different. Same with league two and league one.  9th plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd and the winners play each other.

I think Asda has a 2 hour restriction. Sorry.

Maybe give Hampden a ring and see if they know of a car park nearby?

They never do anything with these, they end up just going away. I know of countless times of going into car parks that have two hour limits and it not being followed up other than the initial approach.

He was never at Aberdeen before us. He played for Kincroth or some other Aberdeen boys club before he signed for us at the age of 17 (maybe 18).

    I thought it was Dyce.

personally i would put him third, unless another name is escaping me but i would definitely put Graeme Shinnie and Ryan Christie ahead of him. For now though, Polworth is a cruicially important player for us and i can't help thinking that he has signed a pre contract with St Johnstone and the club just haven't announced it yet, if he was staying it would probably have been announced already that he had signed a new deal.

Not quite sure Graeme was always ours. Did we not pinch him from someone else at an early age?
