  1. There's not many clubs that would reward a bottom of the league management team that got knocked out of the cup at the first hurdle with a 2 year contract extension !!! Hope this doesn't come back to haunt us .

I agree with you DALNEIGHCALEY, this is a ludicrous time to be handing out new contracts while we are sitting at the foot of the table, total madness!!!!

That fella Laurence was ridiculed by almost everyone on here but this decision beggers belief IMO it really does, he's probably having a right good chuckle at this tonight

I personally would have waited till January before discussions took place that way we would have had more first team players back from injury and hopefully be in a much healthier league position

If results improve and we start to climb the table that is the time to dish out rewards not when we are on the back foot, check my previous posts as i've already stated this opinion on a previous thread in case i get accused off fishing

As usual the site admin and moderating team can only see nothing but positives :amazed: my advice to them would be its time they entered the real world and accept there are some of us who are not scared to voice our opinions because it differs from theirs

  2. Ok we are conceding an average of 2 goals a game at present which in my opinion could have increased to 4 if it wasn't for Ryan Esson in goals

Now I'm not going to come on here and tell Terry and Mo how to do their jobs but i'm genuinely worried that they haven't sussed out that we have major defensive problems

    Lets Look at their pedigree;

Terry Butcher vastly experienced defender for Ipswich and the Orcs, played throughout Europe for both clubs and accumulated 77 caps for England

Maurice Malpas vastly experienced defender for Dundee Utd,played throughout Europe and accumulated 55 caps for Scotland

You could argue that both players were first class defenders so why do they seem unable to put out a defence that doesn't resemble a sieve

1.Have they signed too many kids without the necessary experience to survive in the hustle and bustle of Scottish football?

    2.Is Tokely finished?

3.Is their language barrier problems Gillet,Piermayr,Golobart?

  3. Given that UEFA rates the Scottish league 17th out of 53 in their co-efficient system then i would say the SPL is comfotably in the top third of European Leagues. Absolutely no doubt that we as a league should be doing better in Europe though

    :amazed:

In the last 30years 4 different Scottish Clubs have reached major European finals, considering Scotland is a tiny nation in Europe if you ask me they are punching well above their weight

Aberdeen beat Real Madrid in the ECW final 1983

Gothenburg beat Dundee Utd in the UEFA final 1987

Porto beat Celtic in the UEFA final 2003

Zenit beat Rangers in the UEFA final 2008

All Scottish clubs reached their finals in a 10/12 club premier league, the problem is not the size of the league its the money in the game going to the bigger nations

ABERDEEN JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE WHAT HAS PROVEN TO BE THE WORLD's MOST SUCCESSFUL MANAGER

    WRONG

THIS WAS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MANAGER OF ALL TIME BEFORE FOOTBALL WAS RUINED BY MONEY AND FOREIGN IMPORTS

  4. On another note, and I hope I don't open up a can of worms here but, who are the couple that have started bringing the St Georges cross to the games? It was at Dundee United and I jokingly said I hope they don't bring it to Parkhead. Low and behold there it was! We have a bit of an unfare reputation as being closet Rangers fans (in the eyes of many Celtic fans) and i'm sure they'll see this as more 'proof'. I have no issue with a St Georges Cross as we have many English supporters and quite a few English folk living in the Highlands and of course a strong English element in out squad BUT I don't like how the flag has a teeny wee St Andrews Cross in the corner. Get it sorted!!! At the very least, have a St Andrews Cross the same size, not smaller! Just a personal quibble. Can of worms open...

    :scotland:

    Are you for real?

Septic FC ashamed of nothing offended by everything

We have English players so why shouldn't we fly the St Georges flag at Parkhead, and on the other hand we should fly the Tricolour at Ibrox in recognition of our Irish boys

Stop pandering to the Old firm who cares what they think I certainly don't

Not really sure what your agenda is but we don't want this west of Scotland rubbish up here in the Highlands

  6. I would hope that ICT would be one of the clubs to vote in favour of this should it get that far .....

the Germans have shown it can be done, even to the extent of still being compliant with all seated rules for UEFA competitions ...... could common sense be about to break out ?

    post-2-0-22803100-1316798061_thumb.jpg

I would hope so too,now this is the kind of project the Supporters trust should be getting involved in IMO

I think the kind of seating/terracing in that photo would be ideal for both the north and south stands at TCS, we must try and get some atmosphere at our home games and I can see this helping so fair play to the Septics for approaching the SPL with this proposal

You will no doubt still get some folk against this but we could move the wifees and old yins to the main stand so it keeps everyone happy

    dougal

  7. The clubs are currently checking that the proposed date meets with Dougal's approval.

    100% approval from me Yngwie

IMO one of the few positives so far this season, I just find it surprising its taken the club this long to sort out the event, think most of us realise that the departure of Grant Munro is the main reason why we now have the worst defence in the SPL

I'll certainly attend the game but I will give the dinner a miss I don't want to be bored to tears by members of the ICT supporters trust

All the best Grant and Russel you both fully deserve the recognition

BUTCHER LANDS A PRECIOUS DEFENDER by Ewan McMurray

Injury ridden Inverness Caledonian Thistle plunged in to the short term loan market once again and landed a young but highly rated, old style centre half. Victoria McDuff was signed on a four month loan from local outfit Dynamo Duntelchaig who are flying high in the Dores and District Premier League. McDuff may even be throwh in to the Parkhead cauldron, partnering David Proctor. Victoria's arrival may also lead to Roman Golobart going back to Wigan under the controversial "Aldred ruling".

Maurice Mispass defended the move by emphasising: "The background boys have researched this one in full. Their attention was initially attracted by the front cover story in a reputable daily tabloid and Victoria's dad sent us a video, although it was all about cheerleading. There were evidently some concerns that Victoria has been out for a couple of seasons prior to a full return in August, due to a cruciate ligament problem, but the boys have even secured a full Medical Clearance certificate from the Owen Hargreaves Rehabilatation Clinic.

Terry Butcher added: "It's certainly very frustrating when people are criticising us. Nobody appears to appreciate that last week we had seventeen players out. It's really hard to take because a lot of the (missing) players are match-winners. We have to make sure everyone else does their job and does it well and grasps the opportunity, because there are opportunities there for everyone. And I would not be adverse to throwing in Victoria for her debut tomorrow either. I did say jokingly that the first 11 off the bus will start the game, so why not an 11 year old as well.

Golobart going back to Wigan would certainly be a positive IMO , I know that sounds harsh but I honestly don't think the lad is ready for the frantic style of Scottish football his match losing mistakes in the few games he's played already back this up

I'm afraid there will be more of these howlers before he adapts to the Scottish game, having said that what could he have possibly learnt at Wigan which is a rugby league town?

He's certainly won't have learnt anything from Gary Caldwell other than how NOT to defend, maybe thats the style we are seeing?

  9. Was I imagining it, or were the Stewards a bit better this time at Dundee? I think it was a different stewarding company and when they were requested to sort out why we were originally stuck in a corner with poor views of the pitch, they did arrange for us to get slightly better seating further along by moving the cordon tape. Well done to Margaret M for taking the stewards on and getting it sorted. That wouldn't have happened with the previous stewards. Even the cop who stood near me at the back had good craic! Changed days indeed at Dundee.

The more I hear about the supporters trust the more it seems to resemble the WRVS are both organisations connected in some way?

  10. Was that just a bad day at the office on Saturday against Hearts ?? I was really disappointed at the lack of vocal support.

Sadly this now seems to be the norm at TCS

We definitely seem to have a lot more wifees or tartan rug brigaders in our support than other teams in the SPL the question is why???:ponder:

You only have to read the North of Scotland Cup final thread, the ICT supporters club seem to have been baking cakes at half time :amazed::slapme:

I know i'm repeating myself here but stadium location and layout is also a main factor in my opinion, an enclosed stadium with four sides is far better at keeping the atmosphere within the ground

Atmosphere will never improve while we remain at the dump

  11. Now that the transfer window has finally shut, what are everyone's thoughts on the players we have brought in? Overall i'm quite pleased with our signings although would've maybe prefered to hve another big forward but oh well...

Far too early to give my opinion yet sooz, I'll wait till the run up to Xmas before i'll comment that way they should all have played more regularly and settled in

My real worry is the majority are inexperienced kids while we punted experience(Munro and Duncan)

  12. Willie 'card happy' Collum

Collum became a Scottish League referee in 2004. Since starting he has officiated at 189 game, dished out 566 yellows and 58 reds. He has officiated at 12 games involving ICT and dished out 45 yellows and 3 reds.

You are starting to sound like a Septic fan Alex

I'm certainly no fan of said referee but its wrong of you to say he has some sort of anti-ICT agenda :redcard:

  13. I haven't done a Poll for absolutely ages so here goes

Not sure what forum this should be in so mods feel free to move it if you want but it effects all ICT fans on here IMO

Whats everyone's thoughts on this reputation voting system on this site?

IMO it seems to have been shamelessly stolen from Pie & Bovril but I stand corrected if i'm wrong

What I want to know is what exactly is the point of the whole thing?

As far as I can see certain users(me included) get targeted by the red dot brigade, while certain other users and their amigo's just green dot each other no matter what they post

Surely it would be better for each individual poster to see who is dishing out the green or red dots, that way there is no secrecy and underhand voting

I've voted option 3, keep it going but change it so it lets us see who is green or red dotting each post

The mods certainly seem to be able to see who dishes out the green and red dots so why can't we????:ponder:

  14. Field of dreams ??

Put it on peoples doorsteps and yes we will have extra bums on seats.

Sea to the North and West, Dump to the East and an industrial estate to the South. we have zero residents.

It wouldnt be hard to lure in extra support if relocating.

I very rarely agree with anything you have to say but you are spot on here

Green dot for you 12th Man

The longman site is the worst possible site to have a football stadium, I just can't understand how ICT got away with it due to its close proximity to the A9 and the crazy congestion it causes on match days

Bit of advice sotonict I wouldn't put your mobile number up on here, ask folk to pm you that way you hopefully won't get targeted by weirdo's

I'd steer clear of IHE if I was you as there is always a danger you'll either not get into the ground or get ejected not long after the game starts

Get a ticket for the main stand as there are a lot more knowledgeable football fans in there like myself

to quote that kid in The Shining "Reddot, Reddot!

    Don't see whats remotely positive??

All you Bannerman,CaleyD and that strange finger fella have achieved is to stir/wind up some of the pre-merger fans and open up some of the wounds that were healing quite nicely till this publication was put on line

Since when did Stevie Tosh or Robbie Williamson become ICT legends?????:amazed: seems a bit of false advertising went on

I attended Grant Street and thoroughly enjoyed the football despite Clach getting turned over 1-4 by a very good Turriff Utd side

I wish Clach all the best for the remainder of the season, some very good young players in their team and I will definitely make the effort to see them more this season

  18. Why make the sleeves black ? Would have been much better if they'd just left them white .

I agree the black sleeves look ridiculous

It would have looked slightly better without the black but its too like an Orc away strip for me

  19. In my opinion "Against all odds" always seemed a strange title to me, more fitting would have been "Pro-merger Propaganda"

Again IMO a very one sided view of the merger written by a self-confessed pro-merger author, wouldn't it have been great had the Caley and Thistle fanzine guys got together to give their sides of the story, at least then we could have both sides to mull over???

Anyway I'm off to download the new chapter lets hope theres not too many spelling mistakes

And of course - not a toff in sight.....

    Fri 2nd September - 7.00pm

A bit of an own goal by ICT hosting this match on Friday night as its a kick in the teeth to Clachnacuddin who are playing Turriff Utd at the very same time :redcard:

We all know Clachs situation regarding money and there struggle to get punters through the turnstiles therefore this fixture should have been moved to a more suitable date

  22. Just back in from the pub

No negativity from me tonight, I thoroughly enjoyed the game today, entertainment was served up by both teams, I thought it was a very open game and we deserved the three points :ictscarf:

I've been one of Tade's critics but i'm genuinely delighted he got his first goal despite a couple of typical Tade comedy moments, hopefully the lad's confidence will now grow seeing he's hit the back of the net
