  1. I decided last night not to log in as I feared being banned due to the rage I was in

I'm still seething but feel I can now get my point over without using to many expletives

Was last nights result the worst result in the clubs history it must be up there in the top two or three if not?

Let's not kid ourselves we were beaten by one of the poorer first division 1 sides who are all part timers if I'm not mistaken, guys who probably are posties, plumbers, bakers , traffic wardens, kfc employees and so on

Whether Butcher has lost the dressing room I certainly am not going to speculate but there is something seriously wrong with either team morale or the tactics being deployed

The league table doesn't lie and only highlights the crisis we now find ourselves in

Worst result in 17 years ? Yes I sadly think it probably is

You could sign them in to the Portland Club, dougal.

I hate to disappoint you danger but i'm not a member of said establishment

Not a post of yours go by without reference to the Orcs take it you will be travelling to the game tomorrow from the Portland snug bar on the True Blue bus???

Anyway back on topic I recommend a doner kebab from Max's at the end of nights drinking in Inverness. After a few pints it goes down a treat with me

  3. A better headline? "SPL CLUBS HOLD FIRM AS CELTS LEAD DONS AND GERS IN MASS FANS EXODUS"

I agree this would have been a far more accurate headline but lets face it journalists are good at twisting headlines

From what I hear you weren't too bad at it yourself specifically at the time of the merger

  4. ?25 for a child to sit in the main stand is an absolute disgrace in my book :redcard:

    dougal

Maybe, but ?12 to sit in the Family Section, an area designed and priced for Children/Families (the clue is in the name), is pretty decent.

It's a bit like complaining that First Class cost so much more when you have the option of a cheaper seat in Standard Class which, at the end of the day, serves the same purpose of getting you from point A to point B.

Sweep it under the carpet as much as you want but the problem of ripping off the young fans won't suddenly go away

ICT should be charging youngsters ?12 no matter where they sit in the ground and I include the south stand too for away supporters

Encourage the youngsters not turn them away by inflated ticket prices

  5. Was recently talking to a relative of a youngster who had trained with the club youth scheme for approx 6 years and unfortunately was not kept on as he was apparently not likely to make the grade. Whilst I appreciate that the boy will have had expert coaching & invaluable experience when training with the team, my understanding of the club's ethos regarding it being a "family" club has been somewhat shattered. He had a short meeting with the club's trainers at the end of the training season to be given the news that he would not be kept on, but what I find really pretty shameful is that there was no follow-up letter from the club, ie. thanking him for his dedication in respect of attending training regularly every week, wishing him luck in the future etc. It's very easy to see why young boys give up football if they're not more actively encouraged, even though they don't manage to progress further through the youth ranks. No doubt I'll get pelters for posting this, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one to have this view?

    Indeed

I agree a simple short letter would have been a nice token and would have been if anything good PR by the club

Maybe this and the reducing of costs for match day concession tickets(see other thread) should be now looked or at the very least reviewed

Anyway highlighting these subjects on here can't do any harm maybe the supporters trust or whatever they call themselves these days can put them to the club at their next meeting

  6. What's the likelihood of the club pulling all the stops out & having some shape or form of a mascot for the next home match & all the subsequent home matches? :ponder:

I think having a mascot is really good for the younger fans especially at a small family friendly club like ourselves

You need someone who acts and behaves like a clown and absolutely everyone laughs at rather than laughs with

I'd say Chorley would be a good starting recruiting base

  7. Well Dougal, to put the word DUD against any of Terry's signings brings your footballing views into question, in my book!

A DUD after watching one game and that on TV where you can only see what the cameras allow you to see!

However you obviously have great footballing insight when your 'knowledge' comes straight onto this forum from the numpties on P & B!!

FYI I have watched football over many years throughout the UK mostly England I admit but also a fair number of countries in Europe so I know when I see a dud or a player thats not up to it

I'm therefor as qualified to comment on Tade as any yokel

I admit its early days yet for Tade and I genuinely do hope he makes a name for himself up here in the Highlands but my initial thoughts on footballers are normally fairly accurate however I'll be the first to put my hand up and apologise if he proves me wrong

    Good luck Gregory

  8. I dont mind if the title is ammended to say Rangers and appease the displeasure of the Hanoverian Monarch otherwise known as Dougal - who I suspect is also getting on the bandwagon and taking legal action against the media who actually coined the knickname in the first instance after the Union jack waving bigots ran amok in Newcastle. It has always been part of my culture to refer to the Old Filth as the Huns and the Tims - evidently a faux pas in modern day society. Even the fans of Ross County are offended by old names used in satirical banter. Whats next - The Jam Tarts, The Bully Wee !!

    Oh dear!!!!

    :redcard:

As far as I can make out both the above terms have been banned from Pie & Bovril so why not here?

Lets hope Alex Salmond and his government eradicate this so called culture problems in the future and make Scotland a more pleasant land to live in

  9. Good news and the best of luck to him

Maybe we should learn the words to the land of my fathers I reckon it would be a great song for ICT to walk out to at the Caledonian stadium, not sure the invernessian accent could master the welsh dialect though

  10. He was poor yesterday. He didn't show much positional sense and what he did with the disallowed goal was just ridiculous. He also pulled out of a few tackles and blocks which is disappointing for such a powerful guy.

I think he could do a job in terms of being a big strong player who works the channels and creates situations. A couple of times he was picked out and gained us some yards or a corner. Hopefully he'll grow into the SPL and become a valuable player.

If I was Terry i'd fine him a weeks wages for his part in the disallowed goal debcale, he single handedly lost the club two points yesterday :irritated:

I thought the club had learnt their lesson by signing lower league strikers(Barrowman) but it appears sadly not

  11. I think its worth pointing out that one Terrence Butcher made a very successful playing career out of hoofing the ball up the park with that trusted left foot of his so you can maybe see why our defenders deploy such tactics from time to time

    dougal

  12. I wasn't at the game yesterday but saw the game on the garlic channel

From what I saw I now have real concerns about this signing

Is this guy a striker? It's not clear by yesterdays performance where or what position he was supposed to be deployed as!!

You only have to read the views on pie and bovril from other clubs supporters to suss out that this guy isn't an Spl standard player

We don't need this old filth tit for tat point scoring terminology on this site

  14. Davie, I was going to bite and had typed out a reply to our friend Dougal earlier but decided he can only post negative thoughts or be completely opposite to everyone else as it's the only way he will be noticed on here.

I agree with your post 100% and the only shameful thing regarding this thread is Dougals choice to compare our fans to cretins, no matter your thoughts don't turn on your own, yes I have posted last season on the issue discussed but the only time I have slagged one of our fans was for his language and use of one particular word and I wasn't the only one to mention it.

Read my post again I did not call all ICT fans cretins i referred to the ones that drink far too much, cause bother and get ejected from the various stadiums around Scotland as cretins

Maybe you should get the Mrs to explain other peoples posts like she does on all other football matters before you even think replying in future

Oh and what irony IHE accusing me of being an Orc when in fact he is the biggest Septic on this site :amazed:

Just for the record I despise both sides of the Old firm equally

    dougal

So, what you are saying Dougal is that, persons who suffer from congenital hypothyroidism (cretinism) drink too much, cause bother and get ejected from various stadiums. My wife, who supports persons with learning difficulties, takes serious offence at those unjust and unfounded comparisons.

Thats not what i'm saying and you know it Alex

On hindsight I shouldnt have used the word cretin without really knowing what the term meant so I apologise and I'll delete my posts

    Sorry

  15. I personally think the board should wait at least 3-6 months before entering into discussions with Terry and Mo about contract extensions

We basically have a new untried team out their this season so surely waiting to see how good they gel should be the priority ,then providing the club is progressing sit down and talk money

  16. Correct me if im wrong but isnt Rossco a RB... and seen as we still havnt seen all the names TB has we dont know whats still to come in, IHE I hear what your saying, Green dot.,

IMO I doubt Ross will play right back this season as he doesn't have the legs anymore

With Grants departure the pressure on Ross in the middle of defence is going to be a huge and I have an awful feeling about the whole situation

You only have to look at the Falkirk game when we got relegated three years ago to see how off the pace the big man was even back then

Every one of us know we desperately need a new centre half so the question I ask is why doesn't Butcher???

Incidentally I see that the Aussie women's team are referred to as "The Matildas" so it is great to see such good progress away from the chauvanistic days of "Sheilas".

    Women's football :rotflmao:

I'd have been targeted by the red dot brigade had I started this thread slating a woman official so its only fair you get one from me :tongueincheek:

  18. I am being wholly serious - the only decision that I cant fathom is the release of Grant Munro - although rumour has it that he was told that he could not be gauranteed a starting slot.

I rarely agree with anything you say Ender but the Grant Munro situation makes me mighty angry and I believe Butcher has possibly made the biggest mistake of his ICT managerial career to date

In my opinion Grant should still be at the club and in the starting line up every week

All i will say is that its a big risk Terry is taking to treat the local hero so shabbily
