  4. yip. happy new year to all and sundry. 2010 what a belter. long live ict. the lack of pies maybe relative to results at home this season by some accounts.however the quality away. the quality away. the quality away. i get to few games. that's the way it is. (not far from chorley really but for some reason that place fills me with fear) i got ayr away in tho. cherry pickin ******. can i tell you a story? a few wispy months ago i heard 'chat' that ict maybe playing down in stockport. i live in stockport, infact in the shadow of edgeley park. guess what? the mrs managed to come up with a wedding in cumbria that day. oh well. it was just a pre season friendly (she got off with it in the end cos it was somewhere in northwich). just postin really to wish you all, yes all of you, even the county fans that post on here for a little bit of excitement, a magic 2011.
  5. this thread is embarrasing
  6. With other games being off - this game will now be 'match of the day' (it was anyhoo imho). will it now be shown on the telly? i can't as i was originally planning make it up to embra due to work commitments and would love to see it. if not i'll be listenin to the interweb wireless. regardless i'm sure our away boys n girls continue to do us proud as you have been all year. i think that the bbc team of the year on sunday should be the caley away. absolute legends!!! enjoy the party. terry n mo, terry n mo!!!
  7. What a call. how can you stop?
  8. whoever you are dougal your posts don't half make me laugh. comedy gold. i hope. if yer even bein half serious tho then yer a nincompoop of the highest order.
  9. My effort for Grant.... bit of a seasonal one when the snow is falling - and the yuletide is fast approaching Oh the weather outside is frightful But Inverness is still delightful He's a legend and a hero Grant Munro! Grant Munro! Grant Munro! I'll get me coat...
  10. Totally gutted, not going to be able to make this one. I live in the Greater Manchester area too but am going to be in Italy that weekend. Grrr. Same happened for the Burnley game a coupla pre seasons ago - I was away at a wedding that weekend. I'm starting to think that ICT wait until I've left the area before they visit!
  11. Just because it sounds good really. It's not unusual to sing songs that aren't 100% factual. Plus Caley Thistle will always be champs in my book regardless.
  12. caley thistle champions. should be sung for evermore, wether we're 3 down, 3 up, it's nil nil, promoted, relegated or as we are now... champions. instant classic & sounds the business
  13. I'm taking the drive up from Stockport with the other half to have a weekend in the Ayr sunshine. I'll be meeting up with a couple of Glasgow based teuchters for the match (one of them's a County sympathiser but shhh). Hoping we can clinch it on the day, but obviously I'll be delighted if we can secure it before then. Any ideas where the ICT contingent will be gathering for pre/post match pints?
  14. Old Crow Medicine Show - O.C.M.S or Tennessee Pusher Super furry Animals - Guerilla
  15. Given the sevice Bazza 'n Denzil have given to ICT I think maybe a huge cheer when their names are read out by the announcer is in order, possibly followed by some chants of 'there's only one barry wilson/denis wyness' or to wind up the QotS fans sing about em being ICT at heart. These guys are ICT legends, and should be treated thus. However if either of the feckers score it's pelters time hehe...
  16. Is it gonna be open all mics for Saturday? Hope so as I'm listening online from Stockport. If not do you reckon as it's a derby they'll be doin regular updates from TCS? Really looking forward to this one, gutted I can't get North this weekend, but will be listening in online with a few beers - and with a Tinks fan who is parkin his car & staying at mine before flying out from Manc Airport on his hols. Tell all the tinks you know, that we've all got Cox and you've no!
  17. I know of an excellent wee spot on the River Glass. Not telling where tho. :025:
  18. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8187373.stm "When thinking mergers in Scottish football, the mind jumps back 20 years when Wallace Mercer tried to unify Hearts and Hibernian, stirring up the type of emotion that only football fans can explain. Naturally, those connected with clubs ripe for merging are aghast at the idea. "Would I support an Angus United? No," said Ferguson. Brechin chairman Ken Ferguson. He doesn't mention the Caley / Thistle merger which IMO is a fantastic example of a merger, however painful at the time, working. Talks a lot of sense though this fella. The two divisions of 16 is something that i think would completely revamp scottish footy and give it the shot in the arm that it really needs.
  19. I cant speak for a 60K stadium, but they quite easily handle it at a 21K stadium in Toronto at every MLS game ...... tickets have barcodes and if you go out at half-time (or any other time) you are scanned out .... and then scanned back in again on your return ...... simple Sounds good to me. Would cost quite a bit to implement tho i'd imagine. Would be cheaper and quite manageable just to put a mannie/wifey/steward with a book of cloakroom tickets or an ink stamp on an ajar gate next to the main stand. Would keep the smokers happy and away from the clean lung-ed supporters. No need to even go to the expense of cloakroom tickets, every on has a ticket stub to gain entry to the stadium with the date and match details on it. Why not use that? Absolutely! Tho sadly the club will probs not act as they'll not want to be seen to be 'helping' people to smoke at all. If they don't do anything I can see the reasoning behind that (promoting healthy lifestyle etc) but they also need to realise that some supporters are smokers - and want to enjoy the whole match experience. I know that when I go to TCS I'm usually wanting the final whistle to blow, and not because we're hanging on for a win... but because I need a fag.

  21. These rules are in place across the footballing community. It's quite obvious why you can't let people in and out of 60k capacity stadium - twould be a logistical nightmare, but it's also obvious to me that in smaller sized grounds surely it's manageable to either have a smokers area in or outside the ground. I wonder if the side-effect that the smoking ban had on the smaller pubs - ie less people turning up - is the same in smaller football grounds? Does anyone know of anyone that isn't going to matches anymore cos you can't have a fag. I know of at least 3 people who don't go and watch Stockport County anymore, not because they're sh1t, but because of the strict no smokin rules. I'm off out for a smoke now.
  22. Delighted. Well done the boys! Well done to all the travelling support too... your chants were nearly drowning out that tw@ chick on sportsound!
