  1. Ta for confirming. Hartley now 66/1
  2. Actually I think he may well have gone the whole hog by also tapping the back of one wrist with the the palm of other hand. Go on..... The more I think about it the more certain I am it was him.
  3. Might well be completely wrong but I can recall in one our our first SPL seasons an opposition player giving our fans the old spastic/mongol face (use tongue to push out the part of your mouth under your bottom lips). Was that by any chance Hartley?
  4. Yes, although I think it was just a response to set the record straight regarding the current state of play after the Hartley story broke yesterday, otherwise I don't think they would have announced anything in the middle of the interview process. Not for the first time over the years, the media assume that because we want speak to someone, we have made our minds up and that is the person who is going to get the job. They are clearly used to the methods of other clubs who carry out their recruitment process and THEN ask for the permission that they should have sought much earlier.
  5. "Others had club commitments which meant they could not meet us until later in the week." = midweek games = Champions League Just so long as it's not Lennon. There was also a pretty full programme of English lower league/Conference games last night.....
  6. Question was asked on the Alloa forum earlier - if Hartley gets the job, which Alloa players will he be going back for in January? Can't say I'm familiar with any of them these days, at least since the departures of Hartley's big name signings (Darren Young, Robbie Winters, on-loan Stevie May).
  7. Don Cowie was the ICT player I've always most associated with the term.
  8. Agreed.
  9. At last, a development! All this really means though is that he is on the shortlist, which will be no surprise to anyone.
  10. We're doing ok without one. Plus we've already saved thousands on salaries!
  11. When a manager "rules himself out" at this stage, it's because he's been told he isn't getting the job.
  12. "very competitive pricing.....takes into account the time of year and the economic challenges facing many supporters" says Doncaster in that statement, hoping that nobody has noticed the 25% price increase since last year, when it was at the same time of year and supporters faced the very same economic challenges.
  13. Quote from: http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/ICT-draw-up-shortlist-for-new-boss-21112013.htm "The board has, after careful consideration of a huge inflow of applications, decided on a short leet for the managerial vacancy," he (Kenny Cameron) said. Leet = a special annual or semiannual court in which the lords of certain manors had jurisdiction over local disputes. Interesting way of going about it!
  14. Don't believe the hype, if he genuinely had the chance to go to Swansea he would have gone. In these days of webcams and Caleyjags TV, it should be possible!
  15. It's a very worthwhile subject to raise, but is already being discussed.
  16. Is it the case that he was happy to be put forward for re-election at the time when the AGM resolutions would have been issued earlier this month, but when the AGM took place he wanted that resolution withdrawn?
  17. Does the timing suggest that this has been triggered by something to do with choosing new manager?

Earlier this month Brewster became Assistant Manager at Whitehawk FC. They might sound American, but they are a team based in Brighton.
  19. Can someone find the SFA email address to which we can send our witness statements?
  20. When digging out that quote, I found another article which mentioned that Marsella was once manager of Leeds Utd Ladies.
  21. And his expenses, which were probably as much as his salary. Quote Gary Warren : “The first time I met Steve was in a Harvester restaurant down south. He ordered four dinners – I thought people were joining us but there were all for him. I thought I could put grub away but he’s something else."
  22. Very true. So why did they go to Hibs?

If I wanted last night's safest bet, I should obviously have gone for Germany to beat England........
  24. Wasnae him, it was Ross Philp.

Well that plan worked. 0-0 FT Should have known the underdog would do well. I seem to remember the Faroes came onto the scene and beat Austria in their first senior game. Still, at least I backed Scotland at 6/1 when they were getting an absolute doing in Norway, just 2 minutes before Brown scored.
