Here's the BBC article, which confirms that the first alleged instance of betting against his own team was whilst at ICT. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23761230
  2. I know what you are saying, but from memory(!) I think the team that scores the first goal in a game has about a 60% chance of winning, whereas scoring the first 2 goals makes that a 90% chance.
  3. Can't say I've ever heard that one before! When Billy finished off that neat move on Saturday, were the fans cursing him for putting us in such a precarious position? Did Terry kick the dugout? I put it to you that any lead is a good thing and that a single goal lead is the least good one you can ever have. And who are "they" anyway? It sounds like the sort of inane tosh Billy Dodds would come out with.
  4. 3 well deserved wins, 3 clean sheets. Fantastic stuff.
  5. BBC Scotland's Kenny Crawford at McDiarmid Park: "Richie Brittain has Ross County's first proper shot on target and it sails over. "What a waste of money" sing the St Johnstone fans."
  6. "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea." - Gary Warren 10/8/2013
  7. I think that the guys that comfortably won us our first 2 games probably deserve another chance!
  8. Billy Mackay is on the bench tonight for NI v Russia.
  9. You had a justifiable reason for non-attendance until you added the final word to that sentence.
  10. Looked helpless and confused out there in the middle of the pitch, but could only stand and watch in the midst of this strange game involving men and a ball. But enough about Paul Paton.
  11. If Warren had booted the ball really hard at the bird, I think a ref would have been within his rights to send him off. I'm sure there have been instances of that around the world. [awaits Renegade]
  12. That's the only part of the game the Utd fans can bear to see again.

Based on our first 2 games, we hardly need a keeper at all.
  14. So was this the first time an ICT player has been booed for kicking the ball at a seagull that stubbornly refused to leave the field of play?
  15. Common sense seems to have reached Tannadice. They didn't seem to bother anyone and there was standing throughout the game.
  16. ICT were EXCELLENT today, all over the pitch. Totally controlled the game, and I'd give MotM to Draper who played a big part in that. I lost count of the number of tackles he made. Very impressed with Vincent too. The only possible criticism would be that we weren't clinical enough in and around the box and should have sealed the win earlier. And I suppose it should be mentioned that Brill gave us a couple of scary moments when trying to dribble the ball round attackers rather than take the safety first approach. Utd on the other hand were rubbish. Disjointed, lethargic and just didn't have our fluidity or clear gameplan. Having said that, they should have snatched an undeserved equaliser when Goodwilie somehow put it wide with the goal gaping. But then Shinnie also seemed to miss a sitter after Billy surprised everyone by squaring it when through on goal. Great performance and great travelling support too.

Week 2 of the season and only 1 of the 12 teams (ICT) has both of its fixtures on a Saturday at 3pm!
  18. Where were they staying? And what went on?!

I see our U20's got off to a good start by beating Aberdeen 1-0 at Balmoor on Tuesday. According to Aberdeen's website "an Inverness substitute" hit a screamer in the 76th minute. The only player of ours to get mentioned by name was Esson.
  20. This explains why Charles has been so quiet recently - he's away writing a book about it.
  21. I was curious as to how Gala Fairydean came to have "Rovers" at the end of their name, but it seems that they merged with amateur side Gala Rovers this summer. Just out of interest, did anyone else here make it to Netherdale for any of old Caley's Scottish Cup ties? Must have been around 1984 that we won 2-0 there after Gala missed the chance to go in front when their penalty hit the post, and then around 1990 it was 2-2 before Caley comfortably won the replay.
  22. Coldstream v Wick, nae luck!
  23. Barrowman is still available! Interview here. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/have-boots-will-travel-is-games-familiar-refrain.21799183

I can't help wondering if Agdestein was brought in at the last minute because it became apparent that Allen wouldn't be contributing much for the first few months of the season. Even assuming his injury sorts itself, the fact that he has missed the entire pre-season puts him some way behind everyone else in terms of fitness. And was he not just a part-time footballer to start with?
