  1. not impossible but highly improbable. As Mr Bannerman hinted above, it would probably take a computer to work out the permutations involved since all 9 clubs below us are involved in playing each other. All 9 would have to pass us while at the same time taking points off each other. So my gut feeling is that Mannie is right. Almost as complicated is whether we can be knocked out of the top six by 4 of the teams below us. They only have 4 games left, apart from St Johnstone who have 3. If you make top six you can't be relegated anyway...... I've done it in a spreadsheet, and we can still be relegated. On a more positive note, we can still win the title too. But in reality neither are going to happen.
  2. Not looking at all good for Dunfermline, I can see them going bust before Hearts.

Ooh, that's quite a challenge. I suppose it depends on the actual definition of a legend. For me its got to take account of : length of service quality of contribution whilst here passion and commitment milestone moments and it helps if there is an element of "cult hero" thrown in as well. But whatever the criteria, legend no. 1 for me is Ross Tokely.
  4. At least a supermarket wouldn't charge us £25 to get in.
  5. Feck off back to Canada, aye those were the days......... Indeed, a classic moment. But can you imagine the uproar if the player in question had been from, say, Pakistan?

Well yes, but Dundee's U20s have taken just 5 points from their 19 games......

According to a Hearts fan (!) posting on Pie and Bovril, ICT beat Dundee 3-1 in today's U20 game. Anyone got better info?
  8. They have been at risk of administration all season, with the share issue only buying them some time. But I'm not sure if this development in Lithuania actually has any real implications for Hearts, because the money tap got turned off some time ago. They have been forced into financial self-sufficiency this season - which is largely why they have slid down the league.

According to the SPL site the U20s are playing Dundee at 1pm today in Montrose. Montrose? If it had been played in Dundee I'd have been able to go, grrr.
  10. Personally I think refs give too many penalties for handball. It's only an infringement if it was deliberate. All this stuff spouted by refs and pundits about arms being in "unnatural positions" forms no part of the rules. The ref just needs to ask himself "Did he mean it?" and usually the answer is no, the ball just hit a player's hand because there was no time to move it out of the way.
  11. General nonsense if you ask me!
  12. I tried to model the possible outcomes at the split, but there are endless permutations because it is all so bunched up at the moment. But a few of observations: 1. It is technically possible for us to lose all our remaining games and still manage 5th at the split. But that depends on the bottom teams suddenly becoming invincible, and everything else going the right way for us. 2. Even if we beat Dundee on Saturday to reach 46 points, if everything else goes the wrong way we could still end up down in 9th at the split! 3. Drawing all our remaining games still doesn't guarantee us top 6. So in conclusion: my advice to Terry is to win all our remaining games, just to be on the safe side. Hope that helps.
  13. You can't appeal against a yellow card unfortunately. Bit of a stupid rule because a yellow can lead to a suspension just as a red does. Presumably they don't allow appeals because there are so many yellows dished out whereas reds are quite rare. But if the appealing club has to pay a deposit when appealing you'd think that would weed out the timewasters, and cover the costs of running an appeals panel every week.
  14. Got to be pretty happy with a draw away to the form side.
  15. Interesting background anyway. It's got me wondering, is there demand for a Bobby Mann body double?

Oh go on then.... But how things change in 2 months - Tokely, the treble v relegation, all obsolete!
  17. But: (BBC) Further to the news that Inverness have extended Gary Warren's stay at the club by two years, manager Terry Butcher reports there is no further progress in further negotiations with midfielder Andrew Shinnie.
  18. Here's the offical announcement on Warren. Great news! http://ictfc.com/news/club-news/823-garys-staying

I voted Kenny (ie Yes to the reforms). The 12-12-18 league structuring is only part of the proposal on the table and by voting "no" Scottish football would miss the once in a lifetime opportunity to make fundamental improvements, ie getting fairer income distribution, merging the SPL and SFL and better governance. There's no opportunity to cherry pick which bits you want, Terry, its yes or no to the package. But if the 12-12-18 turns out not to be a success then it can easily be ditched after a couple of years, but we would still retain all the undeniably good parts of the package.
  20. He's gonna love that
  21. It would certainly be a better investment than your Andre Martins tattoo.
  22. Our 12th draw of the season, more than any other team.
  23. Can't complain too much about a draw. The only real disappointment tonight was Motherwell beating Celtic. The other results were pretty good for us.
  24. We are conceding an average of 1.70 goals per game this season, which is a litle bit higher than last year's 1.58. On a full season basis that would equate to conceding an extra 4 or 5 goals. But if these extra goals all arose in drubbings from Motherwell then they actually have no impact on our points tally.
