  1. Although there are some attractions in doubling/trebling his salary, having a player budget 6 times his current one, plus a rumoured 7 figure transfer kitty.
  2. Terry's leading the new poll started after O'Drsicoll turned them down. http://v2.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?181344-Updated-Poll-For-new-manager-without-SOD-and-others-Vote-Now
  3. You know you're an ICT supporter when you start to worry about losing our manager pretty much every time a vacancy arises at a bigger club.
  4. He's the favourite now! ****! 6/4
  5. You know you're an ICT supporter when.........you get a nice smug feeling when you meet a Celtic fan and they ask what team you support.
  6. Has he played at all since Dundee released him at the end of last season?
  7. Yngwie replied to Big G's topic in Caley Thistle
Quote from Terry in the Courier online : "We’ve not signed him yet, but we have offered him a contract and he should come up next week to sign it,"
  8. Monday for priority groups, Thursday for plebs.
  9. Yngwie replied to Big G's topic in Caley Thistle
Daily Post says "not yet cut and dried" but I suspect this article was written before the BBC's. And more to the point, Wikipedia has him down as an ICT player! http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport-news/wrexham-fc/2013/01/04/danny-devine-waiting-on-caledonian-switch-55578-32542874/ DEFENDER Danny Devine’s proposed move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle is not yet cut and dried, the former Wrexham player admitted last night. The 20-year-old, who made eight Dragons appearances in a three-month loan spell, but turned down an 18-month contract at the Racecourse, is in talks with the Scottish Premier League club, one of several clubs interested in signing him. Devine said yesterday: “I am in talks with Cally Thistle trying to get something done and I would say it is looking more likely than not at the moment. “Coming from Wrexham in the Conference, it would be a big opportunity to move to Inverness. “There are a lot of big games in the top flight in Scotland against the likes of Celtic, Hearts and Hibs. It is an appealing prospect moving north, but I just have to see what happens in the next few days. “One of the main reasons I am in talks with Inverness is that they are doing brilliantly in the league this season, sitting in second place. If it was to happen I would definitely look forward to going up and joining them. “I had a chat with (manager) Terry Butcher and Steve Marsella (goalkeeping coach and scout) and we will have to see where it goes in the next couple of days. “There have been a few offers from other clubs, but there is a good possibility of the deal going through in the next couple of days.”
  10. Yes, they'll have something to lift at the end of the season.
  11. I stumbled across a table of the most "liked" posts on the CTO forum, which provides an interesting reminder of some of the issues discussed over the last year. I'll be Jimmy Savile and do the chart coundown from 10 to 1. 10. CaleyD with 14 likes for an angry rap defending Caley Jags Together 9. ymip (feat, disillusioned of Stonehaven), with "I fear we're facing a very bleak future". Released in May and notching 16 likes, this one hasn't stood the test of time. 8. Alex McLeod with 16 likes for the dance floor classic, "get your butts off your couch". 7. Starchief with a brilliant assasination of fickle and inconsistent fans, an underrated classic deserving more than its 17 likes. 6. Veteran entertainer DoofersDad with 17 likes for his heartfelt ballad expressing disappointment with a statement from ICT on Rangers Newco. 5. A new entry for Gatepost with 17 likes, passionately evoking the final minutes of the 3-3 at Dingwall. 4. CaleyD with 20 likes, for a Braveheart style call to arms near the end of last season. "Let us not be divided, let us not be conquered." 3. 22 likes for the recent Derek Adams Hitler Downfall parody. 2. DoofersDad strikes again, with 25 likes and a gold disc for his rant about negative fans amongst our home support. 1. Straight in at number 1 with a remarkable 42 likes, Renegade's cover of the Grange Hill classic "Just say no" - a plea to the Board about how to vote on Newco. If only it had been backed up with a horsey style dancing video, this one could have gone viral. Oh, and just outside the top 10 was ForzaCaley's plea at the end of last season to rename the North Stand, the "Ross Tokely Stand". You can reminisce on all the above, and more, here: http://caleythistleonline.com/best-content/
  12. Good call. BBC: "With no substitute goalkeeper on the bench, striker Robbie Winters was forced to don reserve 'keeper Ryan Esson's shirt and gloves. "
  13. I've locked this topic and moved the original "Rumour" thread onto the main ICT forum as it is clearly beyond rumour stage, ie there is reliable evidence that we are in talks with him.
  14. And what about the Olympic sport of horse dancing?
  15. The first of many times Les Fridge helped our opponents.
  16. Just think of it as a variation of the javelin.
  17. Annd which former player was a hairdresser?
  18. By the time the game takes place I'm pretty sure County will have strengthened their team, whereas the best we can hope for is that we keep hold of everyone.
  19. 176 Barnsley fans have voted their preference for new manager on a forum poll. Terry has 2 votes. http://v2.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?180523-Who-Should-be-BFC-new-manger-Poll&s=426a66a8c5b0cb03f47caff6198d9402
  20. Got links? Bound to be better than watching Only an Excuse! Edit - found them. Didn't think much of the Kiss one but the SPL one is quite good, particularly the mention of Tokely.
  21. How come County have so many weather related problems when they are so well connected to God? Is this punishment for playing games on Sunday?
  22. Ta for the great feedback on that wee sketch. It has been viewed about 2,900 times now which pretty much equates to our core support - although I hope it has reached plenty people of the County persuasion as well. Except perhaps their lawyers. As you can imagine, it was a lot of fun to write a 4 minute rant with as much County related banter as possible. My personal favourite bit though was simply when the officer clearly says "Mein Fuhrer," which is something everyone understands. Struggled for ages what to do there, then in a light bulb moment "Gaffer" seemed the obvious translation in the context of Scottish football. And the eagle-eyed (or eared?) might also have noticed that "seething!" actually replaces "Stalin!"
  23. From tomorrow, our 'expiring' players are free to talk to and sign PCAs with other clubs, which is presumably why the likes of A Shinnie hasn't accepted our offer.
  24. Our combination was something of a crime against fashion but I don't see what other option there was if Saints were (presumably) insistent on wearing their home kit.
  25. Poor, scrappy game after a very bright start by us. We struggled to retain possession, with Foran having a real off-day in that respect and Raven not much better. Got to be happy with a point, and the clean sheet is a bit of a bonus given that we have a pretty untried youngster drafted into defence. Cooper did pretty well defensively apart from a moment of sloppiness giving the ball away 40 yards out and letting them through towards goal. Oh, and Tade is still Tade, the good, the bad and the ugly.
