  1. No need to panic, Gnapka's on.
  2. If you are Adam Rooney being interviewed for the current vacancy of striker at ICT, then you are very welcome but you shouldn't really be drinking before the match!

OTJ is simply keeping his options open. He wants to earn the offer of an extension, why wouldn't he, and he'll happily consider staying if the terms are right, but I'm sure he'll happily consider what sort of offer he can get from elsewhere if we can't meet his expectations. He's rumoured to be right at the top of our pay scale, the dilemma for Terry and Grassa is whether we can risk extending on similar terms when our club's revenues are declining and the player also has a poor injury record. But at least it's pretty positive that OTJ is open to the idea of staying.
  4. I think you are right. Both signed in 2007/08. McGuire was reported as "a nominal fee" and I would hope Deano was even less than that. McGuire, still only 31, signed for Lochee Utd last year, whilst Deano's big move to Celtic didn't quite come off and he had to make do with Carshalton Athletic instead. Age 26, that's his 10th club.
  5. Wasn't there but based on the Alba coverage I'd say Golio was clear MOM, with Tokely runner up.
  6. A few minutes before Meekings got sent off, I think Shinnie was fortunate not to get a red after preventing a clear goalscoring opportunity with a very deliberate handball. He lost his footing whilst defending a long ball and instinctively threw his arm onto the ball to stop it running for the attacker just outside the box. Nice work Graeme, the ref didn't even blow for a foul!
  7. Apparently we only managed to list a sub keeper because the U19 guy Scott Mathieson is from Aberdeen and happened to be at the game.

I did of course choose those words with you in mind!

He was a fine athlete, a darts legend and an unlikely star of Top of the Pops. And then he pissed it all away.
  10. It's the Alba effect again. Remarakable.
  11. Yesssssssssssssss! That is a BIG result for us.
  12. 1 keeper, 6 defenders and 3 forwards!
  13. This is unbearable. Blow the whistle ref.
  14. And no sub keeper as a result.
  15. Esson, Meekings, Tokely, Golobart, Graeme Shinnie, Tansey, Tudur Jones, Sutherland, Foran, Tade, McKay. Subs: Tuffey, Piermayr, Ross, Proctor, Morrison, Winnall, Williams.
  16. According to an article on STV (link below) in the previous 5 years ICT paid £202,000 in transfer fees and received £881,000, a transfer profit of £679,000. Obviously the figures are questionable because clubs generally don't publicise fees. They don't mention any names, but I've put in brackets the transfers I can think of that would have involved fees, although for some years it doesn't quite stack up with the figures in the article. Fees paid 06/07 £80,000 (Rankin, Paatelainen) 07/08 £66,000 (Imrie) 08/09 £56,000 (Rooney) 09/10 £0 10/11 £0 Fees received 06/07 £44,000 (Brown, Proctor, but I reckon we got about £100,000 + £25,000 respectively for them) 07/08 £141,000 (Rankin) 08/09 £638,000 (Niculae, Cowie) 09/10 £58,000 (Imrie) 10/11 £0 If anyone can shed more light, feel free. 17. I was wondering that too. There's no doubt at all that geography gives them a big advantage over us in attracting players, but they still need the money for wages that are likely to be bigger than the amounts we pay our top players. They run a very tight ship financially and stay out of debt. They've had some help with that over the years - the stadium was given to them, with no rent to pay, and they got a £1.75m windfall for selling Callum Davidson. More recently I'd imagine they got a tidy sum when McInnes left. Both ourselves and them had big clearouts in the summer but theirs worked out better.
  18. VAT has always been charged on hot food, including pies. What this announcement concerns is just really tidying up some minor anomalies, like hot deli chickens sold by supermarkets not currently being VATable.
  19. The term "squeaky bum time" seems to be attributable to Sir Alex in 2003 to describe a tense title run in with Arsenal. It has nothing to do with inappropriate use of mice and hamsters.
  20. It's a tricky one, and we should be glad it's just a hypothetical scenario........
  21. The bottom 5 teams have only mustered 1 win between them in their last 5 league games - that's 25 opportunities, 1 taken. On that form they all derseve to be relegated. The Pars can't possibly be as bad as they had been under JM, especially at home. St Mirren have no wins in their last 10 league games and are there for the taking. ICT aren't much better with no wins in 6 and some very worrying performances along the way.
  22. So can we deduct another 10 points off them?
  23. Some interesting info and some very impressive careers have been mentioned on this thread (but I don't really think Grant Munro deserves to be mentioned in this context). I was wondering though, how would the list of 8 or so Invernessians with success at the very top level compare with an equivalent list for places like Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling, Ayr, Perth, Dumfries etc? I'd imagine that compared to other big towns, our lack of league football for about a century was something of a hindrance to producing top class players.
  24. Not a goal, but Morais crashed one in in a different sense. Hope he's OK and it's nothing more than concussion. http://www.bbc.co.uk...hester-17415878
