  1. Is that just Wiki or do you know something? Anyway, someone who has been out of football for so long is a free agent in pretty much the same way that I am or you are.
  2. Similarly, whatever happened to Lionel? Almost 18 months since he left us and I can't find a single reference to him playing anywhere except in Football Manager. Even if he's non-league back in France, these clubs still have websites so you'd think he's appear in a search. He's either changed his name to make a fresh start, or preferred working at Eurodisney and has quit football altogether.
  3. His main job these days is delivering bouquets of flowers! But yes, he has consistently been very successful since leaving ICT. Ayr Utd first(more than doubling his wages apparently), Aberdeen, St Johnstone where he is a club legend, and then a decent start to his managerial career.
  4. He had actually dropped further than that, down to Amateurs for a season, before getting into Juniors.
  5. More importantly, does anyone know why they are called "bounce" matches?
  6. Surely the big news this week is the Steps reunion.
  7. It's a nice idea but I certainly wouldn't advise him to take a backward step like that. He'll want to fight to reclaim his place at B'ham and if that doesn't work and he is loaned out, there will be plenty of interested clubs in England. He has nothing further to prove by scoring more goals for ICT, whereas he has a lot to lose if he doesn't reproduce that form.
  8. Really?
  9. Would this be a good time to point out that Montenegro aren't even in our group?
  10. That's great Alex we'll be able to play number plate games rather than endure the match. A bit like train spotting at Raith, but without the waiting
  11. At McDiarmid on Saturday, whilst averting my eyes from what was happening on the pitch, I spotted a couple of things that you wouldn't expect to see at an SPL ground. 1) A bird table (in the corner between ourselves and the empty North Stand) 2) An advertising hoarding for the Scottish Conservatives What quirky things have you come across at away grounds?
  12. Foran looks to me like a player who is carrying an injury of some sort, he's certainly not quite right at the moment. But even when he is playing poorly himself, in his role as captain he is still entitled, if not required, to shout at others where appropriate.
  13. Perhaps our only hope against Spain was for them to have called up Golobart.
  14. We just didn't look like a team today, and I don't think we've ever looked so toothless upfront. The contest between our attack and their defence was incredibly one sided, amateurs against pros. Saints were solid at the back and very well organised, but still, we just did nothing in the final 3rd, no creativity or penetration, and most of our attempts on goal were long range efforts from Tansey, who at least was trying. A very worrying performance on the whole. Not happy.
  15. Aye, can't see us getting anything from Spain. They are the best international team I have seen in my lifetime. From what I saw of their game in Prague it was like watching the Harlem Globetrotters.
  16. Hadn't realised that Mario Frick has scored more international goals (16) than Kenny Miller or any other current Scottish player. In fact he's scored more than the entire Scotland team added together. Edit to add - thought he was injured but he's in the starting line-up. Teams that have failed to beat Liechtenstein in recent years include Portugal, Latvia, Finland and Lithunia (twice in this campaign). I'd expect us to win this one 2-0 before failing gloriously at the final hurdle.
  17. Where's Dargo? He'd be in my top 3, never mind 5.
  18. I was also on that non-bcc'd email, but have received nothing at all from them, so I wouldn't assume that was the source.
  19. Two comments: 1) Don't rule out the possibility that as a precondition, the new overseas investors might have stipulated that they want the management team on a longer term contract than at present. 2)Just because they have a contract until 2014 doesn't mean they will be here until then. These days its pretty common to have clauses that allow the management team to leave if they get a better offer (perhaps dependent on a specified level of compensation for ICT) and going the other way, a clause which allows the club to terminate their contracts at any time in return for a sliding scale of compensation depending on when the sacking takes place.
  20. Oh dear!
  21. As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, Rooney was a prolific penalty taker. Which got me thinking......to get a true like-for-like comparison, should Tade not be our new penalty taker? I don't know if he's ever taken one, and maybe he'd surprise us, but I just wouldn't fancy him with from 12 yards with all the time in the world, which is an odd thing to say about a forward. Can you imagine we are in the Scottish Cup final. Extra time....penalties....sudden death. 9 of our players have taken one and there's only Esson and Tade still to go. You'd want Esson up next, wouldn't you?
  22. In summary, defenders fear Tade, but keepers don't!
  23. This season, Tade has scored 50% more goals than Rooney.
  24. What we have to bear in mind is that if Tade possessed natural finishing ability, over and above the good attributes he already has, he'd be playing at a much higher level than ICT.
  25. I think that's the first ICT game this season that has been won by the team that conceded the first goal.
