  1. 0-2 but Stokes was offside!
  2. Drat. Neatly worked goal, looked very easy.
  3. 28 goals conceded in 14 games obviously equates to 2.0 goals per game, which we all know is too high. We also know that it doesn't really matter how many we concede if we score 6, but you can't expect that to happen every week. Just out of interest I looked up how many goals per game were conceded by the team finishing bottom of the SPL in recent years. 2000/01 - 1.89 - St Mirren 2001/02 - 1.63 - St Johnstone 2002/03 - 1.87 - Motherwell 2003/04 - 1.76 - Partick 2004/05 - 1.87 - Dundee 2005/06 - 2.07 - Livingston 2006/07 - 1.45 - Dunfermline 2007/08 - 2.18 - Gretna 2008/09 - 1.53 - ICT 2009/10 - 1.50 - Falkirk 2010/11 - 1.55 - Hamilton So our goals against (so far) is on track to be worse, and considerably worse, than the teams which finished bottom in 9 out of the last 11 years, or 9 out of 10 if you exclude Gretna who were just a joke. I am currently in doubt that we will stay up. But what I'm wondering is if our survival will be achieved in spite of having a "relegation defence" throughout the season, or if we will tighten up as the season progresses to end up with a much more respectable goals against column?
  4. Yours is better less bad
  5. Sorry, couldn't resist sharing that one after a mate told it to me in the pub tomorrow.
  6. Fair enough, it was the online shop I was looking at and couldn't see it there.
  7. County focus on youth? I've always thought that they've signed more than their fair share of journeymen and 30-somethings. From Mark Hateley, Brian Irvine and David Hannah to the more recent McMenamin, Munro and Duncan.
  8. Mark Brown in "fails to save penalty" shock!
  9. This week's SPL Classic on the BBC website is our victory from December 2007. Enjoy! This brings back happy memories - and not just of the great win itself. I had just become a dad for the first time a few days beforehand, and was watching the game at home while we had all these relatives round. They were all going goo-goo ga-ga at the baby, whilst I was focused purely on the screen and was going ga-ga in a different way. The following week I made it to Tynecastle for the fantastic injury time 3-2 win, which I believe made it 5 wins in a row for us. Happy days!
  10. They've used the wrong badge
  11. Ireland officially there now. Imagine this : Italy Greece Portugal Ireland The Group of Debt!
  12. I was (pleasantly) surprised to see a copy of Going Ballistic in a Perth based charity auction - donated and signed by the author. Thought I'd mention it here because its an excellent and collectable book, the club shop don't seem to sell it any more, its for a good cause and it has no bids at all yet. Oh, and very appropriately its listed right above a Celtic shirt! Scroll down to item SL36 And in item 87 near the bottom, the Hamilton v County hospitality, spot the mistake!
  13. Well it made me smile, a wee bit, even though I first heard it in 1983. Not got any orb jokes?
  14. Would be great if Johnny stays fit long enough to get in contention. Otherwise we could be faced with the first Euros in 8 years not to have an ICT player.....
  15. As fitness coach or hostage negotiator?
  16. Presumably Terry is the first inductee to be associated with an Inverness team. Who will be the next?
  17. This is getting to complicated. Would it not be easier to just nick one?
  18. It's refreshing that there's a united Glasgow side in women's football. But what school did they all go to?

You might be too modest to repost this so I'll do it for you!
  20. Agreed, but in the cold light of day, do we have to acknowledge that the goalfest was as much due to Killie's tactical ineptidude as to our own good performance? Up until the 59th minute they were very much in the game - it was 1-2, and they could easily have just been awarded a penalty for Rossco's handball. Then their manager decided to throw caution to the wind, taking off a defender and midfielder and putting on 2 more attack minded players. That left them horribly exposed at the back, they were all over the place defensively, and we ruthlessly took advantage of that. 3 goals in the 7 minutes following the change. Sounds a bit like I'm raining on our bonfire and p1ssing on our fireworks, but I'm not. We were superb on the counterattack, but I'm just suggesting that Killie's tactical change made it all possible, and other managers won't take our attacking threat so lightly in the coming weeks.
  21. Actually Esson's positioning didn't look at all clever for the first goal on Saturday, with a wide gap at his near post leaving an easy finish for Killie's excellent move. And was he unhappy with his attempt at stopping the 3rd goal as well?
  22. My broker tells me that shares in Auchterarder Chippie plc have bounced back, having lost 90% of their value in the previous 10 months. There's an interview quote from their Managing Director Bob Haddock in today's Financial Times, saying "Things are looking up at last, now that my biggest customer has finally come back. They even lent me a big French lad to help out behind the counter on Saturday evening. At first I thought he was a bit of a liability, and there was an unfortunate mix-up between "poisson" and "poison". But the lad works very hard and he certainly knows how to dispense a professional battering".
  23. Especially when they are calling up Craig Samson, FFS!
