  1. Maybe something like this
  2. Hearts current style is to lump the ball long to Ikpeazu and hope he can keep a hold of it and bully his way through, they have been very one dimensional for most of the season even when Naismith was fit. If we are to win then we have to contain him and be stronger in the air as well. I don't see Levein being able to change their style of play from anything other than they've been playing recently.
  3. I've never really been a fan of the playoffs for the Premiership and after a long hard season the last thing a team finishing 3rd or 4th needs is to play 6 more games in 19 days to win promotion - that's just ridiculous. Another example of how the top flight takes care of themselves and how it's weighted towards tv again. Anyway as Satan says, one step at a time ..........................
  4. It's called giving a report of the match in some form in order to give everyone some sort of perspective on the game. I didn't know you wanted a Twitter style report limited to a small amount of characters. Actually hats of to the likes of Caley Stan and Rig who took the time to write their informative posts. PS: it was a good away win 'yesterday'
  5. We got home to Aberdeen from the game at 11:45pm after stopping in Glasgow for dinner and was too tired to post about about the game. Rig and Caley Stan pretty much sums it all up above and through hard work, grit and endeavour we came through with the three points. For all that Ayr had the ball in the second half I can't recall ever feeling like they were truly threatening us and the few saves Ridgers made were very comfortable. 4-4-2 for me doesn't work in terms of the style of play I like to see and we were over-run in midfield, it was noticeable that Polworth was not happy with something that Scott Kellacher said to him in the first half and it continued all through the second half. When Donaldson went down injured the team were over at the dugout, SC discussing stuff with them and it was notable from a few players body language that they didn't agree. Not sure that he was actually encouraging them although he did seem to try and reconcile with Polworth at the end of the game as they walked off but Polworth still wasn't happy. Saying that regards formation, we did what we needed to do and got a massive three points. Donaldson was superb for me until he went off injured, we stayed outside the main stand after the match and when he came out he didn't look good at all, was limping very heavily with very limited movement. Had they had crutches with them I reckon he would have been using them, it's probably just as well he's suspended next week. White deserves huge praise for coming into the game and for me looked much better after Austin went off, he seemed to know better where to be and enjoyed being the only focal point. For someone who looked very clumsy at the start of the season he's really come on and his touch and control in the last 20mins just proved that. Gets a lot of bad press for doing the ugly work but he done exactly what was asked of him, spoke to him briefly after the match and he said that it was a hard shift but a huge three points. Big shout out to the players afterwards outside when they were getting on the bus: we waited outside the ground to try and get photos for MissCaleyjag and they were superb with her; White, Walsh, Ridgers, Mckay, Chalmers and Robbo and I've never seen a kid look so happy to get her photo taken with complete strangers. They really made her day to top off her first game.
  6. Yeah mate, Walsh was on the right, Doran left and they swapped after bout 30-35mins Polworth and Chalmers in the centre
  7. Not a lot of football been played by either team, bit stop start for nothing fouls and a fairly scrappy. We are short in midfield and it shows with our repeated attempts to lump the ball forward to White and Austin. Need to show something different in the second half. So far at least Ayr haven't massively threatened other than down our right side with Rooney being exposed a couple of times. Undefendable penalty miss, no excuse and we need to take those chances in games like this.
  8. Caleyjag and I are here with MissCaleyjag for her first game - teaching her young at the age of 4

  10. I think we're at the stage of the season where, barring injuries, the team really picks itself. Definitely a big game tomorrow but then every game from now until we have a play-off place confirmed is a big game, we've been turning in good performances with the odd blip and I see no reason why we can't take the game to Ayr. Is it wrong ti wish for another 0v7 result like back in 2010 - probably one of the best ICT games I've attended, certainly up in my top two favourite games I've been to.
  11. Clyde v Peterhead - draw @ 3.40 please
  12. Congratulations to both, always good to get recognition and shows that we're being noticed. Could work the opposite in Doran's case and may well bring the vultures flocking sniffing out a bargain, possibly his past injury record may scare some off.
  13. Very much agreed Possibly also a few apologies from people on here are needed, regards some previous comments, in light of the news.
  14. Caleyjag just sent me this statement. As someone who's suffered all his life with hip problems and Perthys Disease from childhood, I have the deepest sympathy for Angus and what he's going through. I'm 38, had my right hip replaced at 22 and left hip replaced at 30 (same procedures way before Andy Murray made it famous) and would not wish it on anyone especially so young. The likelihood is had he continued on playing or trying to play, he'd have done even more damage and been faced with similar options. Good luck with whatever you do going forward young man, never good to see a promising player have to retire so early.
  15. Surely the draw of the fine cuisine served up by the exceptional catering at the ground could have persuaded you to skip dinner and dine out?
  16. I haven't read the thread yet so apologies if I repeat some things that have been said already but I'm still raging with the result. It's not like me and I can normally shrug it off but it might be down to the complete ineptitude of the referee, yes we played into his hands with some naive tackling at times but every foul especially towards the end resulted in a yellow card. Following his rule of thumb, Draper should have been off as well. Unfortunately Misscaleyjag, at the tender age of 4, took it upon herself to tell me to stop shouting at the tv and put her hand over my mouth when Trafford was sent off so I might have some apologising to do when I get home from work today for giving her into trouble.
  17. See if this helps - I can't find any other line other than Wikipedia and we know how reliable they are. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/inverness-caledonian-thistle-fc/toptorschuetzensaison/verein/2451 2013-14 season: Billy McKay with 18 league goals, 3 Scottish cup goals, not sure about League Cup Before that it would be Adam Rooney

  20. We both really need to bring our NPL form into this
  21. Queens Park @ 2.25 please

  23. Greg Tansey v Hearts in that unforgettable semi-final.
  24. On the contrary, this for me was one of the more pleasing aspects towards the end. All too often we've squandered a lead or not seen a game out so it was good to see us play sensible at a time when we had them rattled. It's good to see some game management for a change and shows we're learning. Imagine this thread had we gone for a third and they break and score.
