  1. 20 minutes to go..........
  2. Think about it........ :024:
  3. Without the stress of the management role he'd surely be a better player, and after trousering a few bob of the grocers dough he could afford to go for a pay-per-play agreement. I'm not in any way saying he's the only solution to our scoring drought, and I have my own reservations about seeing him back in the stripes, but people are dismissing the suggestion and calling for a new striker without making a single suggestion as to who we should go for. Anyway, the whole thing is probably a complete non-starter and I'd be surprised if it's been given serious consideration by the powers that be. But here's a question - would you take him back for next weeks game against the A-rabs ?? - Imagine that !!!! :015: :015: :015: :015: :015:
  4. I'm convinced all they need is a bit more Hart
  5. no blame on Dargo from this corner, he never stops running, but the chances just haven't appeared, they will soon though, I have faith
  6. Yeah, I’d like too see him back on the park purely on the basis that he’s a class act and I can't think of anyone else that could do the same job who is available. I’m not so sure everyone would give him a warm welcome, but it wouldn’t take much from him to get right back in favour. This season is probably his last chance to play SPL level and if he doesn’t get his boots back on soon he may not have another opportunity. Unfortunately, there’s probably too many complex ‘issues’ for it to be a go-er, but overall, I’d take him.
  7. Working unfortunately, so couldn’t make the match yesterday, luckily then, I don’t have feelings of frustration acquired only by being at such games. I was at the Hearts game last week though, and saw the same 11 guys easily match the Pressley enhanced Jambos and with a wee rub of the green we could’ve taken all three points. I thought it was as entertaining as a 0-0 could be. By all accounts Well were keech yesterday too, so from where I’m sitting, for us to play so badly and only lose by a 90th min. penalty seems very unlucky. Would there have been so much spleen venting if we’d come away with another 0-0 draw ? To expect to walk any game in this league is unrealistic unless you’re a Tim. It’s as tight as a fishes erse and there will be good and bad days for all the teams. There may not be any SPL novelty left for you, but there most definitely is for me and I’m still enjoying it, ‘if I didn’t I wouldn’t be in here’ as the man almost said.
  8. But tell us who you'd bring in ??? I don't see too many affordable options available.
  9. Jayzus, what a relief to hear something a wee bit optimistic from someone else who is enjoying being up in the top league. Every time I make my way down to the Longman, I feel like a wee loon waiting for Santa. I can’t quite believe it’s true that a Highland team are now holding their own in the SPL and I’m going down there to watch them take on Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen etc on a weekly basis. It’s been a privilege to be around during this golden era of highland football and I get right royally peed off with persistant pessimism of some of the threads on this board. OK it sounded like a poor game yesterday, but we only lost 1-0 to a penalty in the 90th minute, same against Aberdeen the other week, it took a 90th minute equaliser to deny a win. We’re holding our own in a league that’s as tight as a gnats chuff and I for one am enjoying the ride, thank feck I’m not alone. If every aspect of going to the games caused me as much distress as it obviously does to some, I wouldn’t bother going, I wouldn’t put myself through the suffering, I would stay at home. In one short post, there’s complaints about the football, the admission fee, the league position, even the cost of a cup of tea. Give me strength.
  10. ‘Tis Panto season once again girls and boys, and with Eden Court having the builders in, there should be an even bigger audience for a GTWB Xmas production this festive season. From the last 12 months there’s the usual rich vein of material, what with the annual managerial turmoil down Longman way, the shady grocer lurking in the shadows with his handful of worthless beans to lure our long legged but short sighted centre forward and manager away, the threat of the Super Ally circus coming to town, little Charlie the backroom boy stepping into the limelight and stealing the show, the goose that was laying the golden eggs taking flight before selling his guilded nest, the oh yes we are, oh no we’re not of the Inter Toto European adventure, the annual cup thrashing by the Wee County from along the A96. Not to mention the tragi-comedy being played out through at Borough Briggs. It should all be nostalgic enough to give the misty eyed naelifts a new bout of enthusiasm for playing with the villainous big boys and enough local historical references to keep Mr Bannerman busy correcting inaccuracies well into the new year. This site needs a bit more of the old surreal highland humour and less of the gloom doom and depression that seems to be filling it these days. Anyone would think it was Elgin City that was being discussed, not ICT, 7th in the SPL. Hopefully it’ll be curtains up and strike up the band at GTWB Broadcasting, if not, can somebody steer me to the previous GTWB productions for a bit of a laugh. Now that’s what I call entertainment.
  11. fair play to the aforementioned businessmanny if I was going to pick a fight with one of the team, Tokely is the last guy I'd choose
  12. Strewth, I hadn't read the report. Well done the Vale.
  13. Aye, good entertainment despite the baltic wind in the second half. Unfortunately, Nairn never looked like repeating last years cup exploits. :007: As for the banner - it may come as a surprise to some, but Caley are not held in particularly high regard in the Wee County. A stellar cast of Highland managers spotted in the crowd too - Pele P, Nealie Cooper, Dunc Shearer and Nairn's own Ronnie Sharp.
  14. Any truth in the rumour that Borat will be in charge of the Jambos next week. It couldn't get more ridiculous in an east european stylee.
  15. Bit of a highland management dream team. Both will be used to being their own men though, and it will be interesting to see if they can work together.
  16. Get him back in as a centre forward - pay as you play. He's still got a big presence on the park. :014:
  17. So far as the 'old boys club' goes at ICT, to me a local mafia is no bad thing in keeping the clubs highland identity. I like hearing the gentle inversnecky accent on the old wireless when CC or Grassa are being interviewed. I can relate to it. As for wanting the manager to rant, rave and throw things about, it's something which I don't think comes naturally to most highlanders, and as for having a boss who dances about shouting and swearing at you whilst you're doing your job, I wouldn't want that at my work, would you. Those clowns might make for good fly on the wall reality tv, but most sensible people can't be bothered with it.
  18. From what I saw, we miss Brewster the player but not Brewster the manager. He's a far better player than he is a manager.
  19. I'm glad you diplomatically used the word merger rather than takeover :015: :015: :015: charrette my erse
  20. Biggest match of the season at Stade ICT tonight when the Wee County come around to dispense their regular footballing lesson to our big city neighbours. Watch and Learn. :001: ......you can stick your Tornagrain up your erse as well :015: :015: :015:
  21. I love the idea that there are still rebels hiding out in Dalneigh who refuse to admit that ICT exists. :015: On a more serious note I was in JJB's Chav supermarket the other day and the massive Rangers display and complete absence of ICT merhandise really fecked me off - that's what ICT are up against in Inverness - we walked out and went elsewhere for the bairn's trainers. I won't be spending any more of my hard-earned in there and I'd advocate all other ICT supportrers to boycott the place as well, it is a depressing disgrace. My day was only cheered up when I saw a depressed looking Donald Finlay walking past the defunct Rangers shop - it was one of those 'wish I had my camera' moments.
