  1. Hi To bring to your attention Colin Kasim-Richards Now Colin who is a UK citizen, has blotted his copybook in Turkey big time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Kazim-Richards Fenerbabachce I am told by a Turkish friend of mine won't have him back. They have farmed him out on loan to Toulouse. I am sure he wont be happy with that long term. My point his he is looking to get his credibility back. Could ICT not get him on loan with a knock down price from Fenerbachce. Just an idea. Nothing ventured and all that.
  2. Cleanest fingernails in the game. Won't catrch me mending a motor bike.
  3. About half way through the season when we were sitting uncomfortably in the bottom half of the Div 1 table, I posted something to the effect that TB's appointment of manager was proving to be, not only a huge gamble by the club/ board, but one that could end up having dire consequences, and even threaten the very survival of the club. I do apologise - You are not on your own. I think the world and his wife expected the team to struggle this season. As an interested onlooker, recently arrived in the locality, I was amazed when I looked at the league table a few weeks ago. I though I was seeing things. I mean Dundee brought in a new manager, to steady their ship. What a co-ck up that was , the biggest since Monz as they say. No point dwelling in the past. Next season will be tough. St Johnstone have shown a promoted team can do reasonably well in the SPL. If ICT can hold their own it well be a sucess, don't expect too much.

Hi Good luck to all of the supporters travelling. I won't be there because I want my first match to be at home. Remember Ayr will be up for the match big time, so make sure you get behind the team. Laurence

Hi Just to say I have in my time been to matches where the league has been won, and the team winning it, has entertained a much weaker team at the end of the season. The weaker team often wins and this causes major disapointment, for the champions. What I am trying to say is. " Don't take Ayr likely ", or Dundee for that matter. Both these teams will be up for the matches against ICT big time. regards Laurence
  6. My brother who lives in Portsmouth is besides himself with grief. He cant understand why his team is 120 million pounds in debt. He says the only way is that the club was run by Ali baba, and 40 of his men. He reckons you could not lose 120 million however hard you tried, without thieving. I wind him up by telling him Celtic are to buy Portsmouth out and move the franchise to Glasgow. That was before I knew the extent of the debt of course.
  7. When I lived in London, many of the stores , open all night, and provide a fantastic service, run by follows of Mohammed , as you say , sold alcohol, and more to the point streaky bacon as well. ( we all have to make a living my local shop owner told me ) If you go to Turkey you will see drinking in great abundance in the equivelent of Tabacs, there. I think the top clerics don't like the idea of drinking, but the regular rank and file chaps , like the rest of us drink, when their wives arn't around. Its a case of top show.
  8. Ignore this post, I had the impression the fair play award was won by Scotland , I was mistaken.

Hi Glad we are on the same wavelenght now. I was only defending my Dad who died over 30 years ago, and is not around to defend himself. [i was referring to the Chorley ( Preston ) fans. Chorley have not many supporters. Chanting "shoot the N***r", and pointing at Tony Cunningham, Roger Mauge', Roger Stanislaus, 3 black players , for the whole of the match. With regard to his watching Bolton, Blackburn and others, you should note in the fifties these were big first Division teams with great players like Nat Lofthouse and Bryan Douglas. There was no football on TV and the only way you could see the big stars was to go to the matches. Even Bury had Stan Pearson who only two years before scored two goals for England in front 134 thousand people at Hampden Park. ( when a Man U player) before his transfer to Bury http://www.londonhearts.com/scotland/games/19520405.html It was a great victory for Chorley, A true giant killing performance , but remembered for the behavour of the supporters. regards Laurence

I used to work at Washington Hall , ( Chorley) as a Fire Service instructor I saw the Chorley v Bury Cup tie , The most disgraceful racist match I have ever seen. By the way my father was a perfect gentleman, and definately more than compus mentis. so stop insulting him please. Or I will never visit this message board again.

In fairness to my Dad , He was just a bloke from a cotton mill town in Lancashire, driving around in circa 1953 in a borrowed Wolsley on Holiday, with a car full. Towing a caravan. Driving through Inverness, he had probably seen something in the papers about an Inverness team doing well in the Scottish cup. When he sees a football ground, and he instantly thinks that's the one in the papers, I'll tell my kids about that, just to stop them getting bored. My Dad was neither deluded or a Jaggie. He was a loyal Bury supporter. He never missed a match. He worked 7 days a week , more or less, just taking Saturday afternoon off, to go to the game. If Bury were away, he would have no time to go to the match, so he would go to Bolton Wanderers or Blackburn Rovers. He would go to football on Xmas day, and on Boxing day. He was a great fan. As I say neither a Jag or deluded. Just trying to do the best for his family.
  13. John Barnes seems to be the one, You cant get much worse, He underlined his ineptitude, with his spell at Tranmere Rovers, The Best might be easier Alex Ferguson Matt Busby Bill Shankly David Moyes Jock Stein Kenny Dalgliesh In fact all the best managers seem to be Scots Best Cricket Captain, Douglas Jardine - also Scot l- led the infamous bodyline tour to Australia

  16. Hi As a new arrival to this site - Just wondering - I believe R. County will be playing in Europe next season. I had to visit the hospital in Dingwall a few days ago. I noticed their ground , at the same time. I was wondering , how could they entertain , Juve , or Man City, there. Would the games have to be played in Inverness, or Aberdeen ? Just wondering.

If you ever leave me, how my heart would ache. I want to hug you, but I fear you'd break. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, you beautiful doll......Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, you beautiful doll. Only 12 nil. Montrose could give LEWES 12 goals start, and still win. I only went to Lewes for the beer at half time. LEWES have the excuse of being promoted to the Conference. Then sacking their manager, and all their players. Starting again with cast offs from teams 3 divisons lower. Nobody ever found out why.

Hello Just to say congratulations to In CT I have never seen a match in Scotland at any level, so I don't know much about the standard you have achieved. I know your manager is famous for playing with blood pouring all over his face whilst playing for England. When I was a boy my father , whilst on holiday , pulled up the car outside a very old football ground and said "this is the ground of Inverness Thistle, famous for giant killing acts in the Scottish cup". I recently moved to the locality from deepest Sussex, I held a season ticket for a then Conference side called , Lewes. I fully intend to get a seson ticket for ICT next season, unless they are all spoken for. I was going to watch a game or two this season , but a stay in hospital and bad weather put paid to that. regards Laurence
