  1. i give sophie -8 for the most woolgather bafflin' post of the week top of the class :sillywave: united bank of belgian waffle league 07-09 1. sophia -8
  2. i think the south of england is sinking about 10 inches a century!
  3. true enough charles, there are tiny amounts of co2 in the atmosphere but already its theres too much to slow the process of climate change. small amounts of co2 being released into the atmosphere form central europe for the past 100 years and increasingly from the far east is causing tiny increases in global temperature by thinning the oz layer. the areas of the planet the most sensitive to small differences in temperature change are the tundra of north america and russia. when they heat up the permafrost melts and releases more fresh water into the arctic ocean than there naturally ever should be. by 'more fresh water' i mean billions of gallons of it every day, the worlds biggest rivers by volume are all in northern russia. all of this extra fresh water is having an impact on the currents that regulate the temperature of the north atlantic, as fresh water retains less heat than salt. changes in ocean currents beneath the north atlantic are releasing pockets (thousands of square miles of 'em) of methane between here and greenland, which makes any scratching at the surface mans been doing over the past couple of hundred years look as pathetic as charles seems to believe it is. truth is the scratching and burning away is the trigger for a much greater and deadlier process, that although has naturally occurred hundreds of times since the earth developed an atmosphere has never actually been accelerated to current levels if i was mr ict id build the stadium on higher ground
  4. or he could get injured again
  5. Gringo Jnr i agreed that people were inconvenienced, though i do have alot less sympathy for those who choose to few the security that surrounds all airport employees as inconvenience, it goes without saying that the inconvenient security checks may be saving your life every other day. its the passengers who have no choice but to board planes at airports i feel sorry for if anybody else didnt read what i said then ill just quote it directly and summerise - "its worrying the intent was there but the actual capabilities of thise involved was embarrassing. al queda or hamas make bombs, these guys crashed into a door then jumped out to unload gas cylinders and throw petrol bombs!" "i dont think 'terrorism has now arrived in Scotland'" ....these people were obviously acting on instinct and hate rather than carrying out a calculated plot to disrupt the communication network of this country, dont be scared about seeing anymore 'attacks' from them or worry they are giving others ideas.
  6. i dont think millions of people wouldve been inconvenienced any more than normal but certainly within the uk itself thousands would have been. the incident would also have cost the airlines flying to/from glasgow combined a few million pound but even then thats why they pay about a fifth of their turnover in insurance like most of this country i agree with mr bloomberg, i wish the wider media did aswell, i really cant see what they gain out of blowing any 'terror' story way out of proportion other than discredibility (is that even a word :017:)
  7. sorry but that attack on glasgow airport was not a serious terrorist attack, its worrying the intent was there but the actual capabilities of thise involved was embarrassing. al queda or hamas make bombs, these guys crashed into a door then jumped out to unload gas cylinders and throw petrol bombs! they're about as likely to take out a plane or kill people as the weegie radges inside the building on their way to magalluf i dont want to give the impression im 'unimpressed' as if a bigger attack wouldve impressed me but i dont think 'terrorism has now arrived in Scotland', even during the the worst trouble in northern ireland there were too many safe houses and known faces in scotland for fighting to spread our way. the enviroment up here is all wrong to breed islamic fanatics, their communities are too small to be completley insular or intollerant
  8. sproules a great singing for a championship club, pace is his best attribute but hes a good finisher aswell, its a shame he went to bristol city
  9. actually agree with thewynessshuffle there despite saying bayne myself! i was thinking under rated nationally (like munro) with that answer, im shocked the likes of killie, aberdeen etc arent kicking our door down for him
  10. hastings was a regular in the austrian league and has been brilliant since he came home do they have funny german sounding names?
  11. if only that were true
  12. sorry, i wouldve said if id taken note of your number mrs m but i wont be joining you this weekend as duty calls. im sure everything thats said will be online within about 48 hours anyway. im mainly interested to hear if anybody has an opinion on the true monetary value of yer average scottish football club why the trusts (around the uk as a whole) arent exercising a bit of common sense and a little more caution when dealing with clubs who are for the most part one bad season away from financial ruin maybe next year ill have a day off
  13. eh? :029: so far we've only given our raffle manager the top job
  14. id rather give you a call. ill leave it tonight and give you a ring from my mobile in the morning (pending new phone charger actually working) otherwise ill call you from work, itll either randomly come up with an 01389 or an 0845/0870 number between 9 and 5, just so youre expecting it! (and if i have to join the ict supporters trust for access ill be far more than happy to do so) and ihe im only interested in whats going to be said! ive got to work until about 11am checking if a grown adult can read. its in kilpatrick so not too far into town. ill be at a loose end and seen as i work with somebody who is involved with the falkirk franchise of the trust movement itd be interesting to go, though he'll be there independantly with his crew
  15. phone issues have just been resolved thanks to ebay. whats the latest i can call tonight?
  16. brewster and robbo were almost black wi the sunbeds
  17. CELTIC1CALEY3 !! you had to go and ruin what couldve been a decent topic by putting the pie joke in the 2nd bloody message! :33: this wouldve been at least 10 pages long if the first few replies were actually about the story, messages 10-12 would then be pie related and we'd be moving nicely onto page 2 by thursday night for a summer long robbo and hearts pie fest can we start again kingsmill
  18. id be interested, but my pm box doesnt seem to work with firefox today
  19. i say call his bluff and dont offer him an extension. who knows maybe mcall, butcher, lambert etc may be available in 12 months
  20. ive lived in glasgow and edinburgh, the two cities you mention there, yes theres sectarian issues in scotland but on nothing like the same level as the racial tension ive seen in english cities recently. like i said the changes south of the border are new, i wouldnt live there again, if you think alls well down there by all means exercise your right to roam as many english familes are doing now and go see for yourself.
  21. arent we getting a supporters bar of some awful description next season? i quite like the artisit formerly known as bingham legends view on such things, every little bit the board appear to be doing for the fans comes back to the club getting more money, which is sadly true. if clubs in scotland can make money by selling beer then it will happen
  22. ive just back from visitng bingham legend in manchester and although the area i was staying in was alright i still mustve heard about 12 gunshots while walking to the all night garage and as many police chases. from the moment i arrived to the moment i left the streets, even in the city center, were swarming with homeless, asian, black and white gangs. the job centers in the city now distribute leaflets on how to avoid guncrime, the local chemists have aids specific and meth wards (!) and yet everything ive read about manchester or saw on the local news was all what a success the city is. in the past year my other trips down south have taken me to newcastle, reading and exeter, similar story in each town. theres something going on in england that i dont like and im grateful as a scot i have the potential to vote not to be any part of it one day. the recent increase in racial tension and violent crime in england is not reflected in scotland and i never once saw any evidence of it from my time spent living in brighton just a few years ago. to me anybody who claims to be a supporter of the union despite the way things are heading in england is more than welcome to f#ck off down south to join it. im starting to view them the way i view rangers/celtic fans who only support their teams for 'the football' but dont talk or admit to being aware of everything else that goes along with the old firm. my view of england has completley changed from the time i spent living there, i dont know if i would again and can see why so many thousands of english families are coming to places such as inverness, perth, edinburgh etc
  23. we need more away fans bums on seats ive scribbled estimates on the percentage of the home capacity of our ground that was full last year and i work it out to be over 85%, most of the teams on my list ive given attendances of about 300 visiting fans, which we all know is being generous to united, motherwell, kilmarnock and dunfirmline (obviously more for teams with more fans) we get more bums on seats by marketing season tickets better, being positive in the transfer market and with building work around the stadium. nevermind all this half time/mfr/cheerleader pish, we have to let everybody in the north scotland know how good a deal they are getting with their season ticket. how about arranging some kind of subsidised bus service from as far out as elgin or forres? dornoch/tain?
  24. kate moss is a slapper, she takes it up the a##e when shes shooting up, she thinks of ritchie hart :017: bit of a variation on the old posh spice one from yesteryear
