Today's defeat- The real reason...
if that was the case then falkirk would be challenging at the top of the league, as our back line is comparable to that of most of the division. the sad fact is we've been poor defensively against dundee united, kilmarnock and hibs recently (off the top of my head) and have been showing signs of weakness for a while against everybody. its too easy to say the players just arent good enough to deal with stokes/latapy on an individual basis but they have dealt with better players than them in the past together. so i dont think you can blame todays goals on each of their weaknesses but rather their collective sh1teness. if that makes any sense :015:

Falkirk match thread
first thing i picked up on today was that we brought the quietest support ive ever seen for an ict game, ive been going to away games since the division 2 games and can honestly say todays was the quietest. 10/10 for the 4 guys who tried to get some kind of banter going though the game.... we were shocking, we didnt look interested at all, the lack of fitness or motivation after wednesdays late winner was there for all to see. its disapointing (yet excusable) to see players under perform sometimes, but when the entire team does its a real worry. even the usual dependable numbers like brown or munro were at fault today, mark especially looked like he couldve done more for all three goals falkirk are awful, truely awful, i can see why some of their fans want yogi out now as the result was completley reliant on stokes ability to outrun our disinterested center backs at crucial times. everything else the rest of their team attempted was embarrassing to watch, at one point twaddle even cleared the ball of OUR goal line when he looked certain to make it 4. dont be fooled into thinking 3-1 isnt so bad a result in the grander scheme of things, as we are a **** of alot better than them and this was a disaster all round. if they were any good we wouldve lost 6 or 7 goals as was mentioned earlier. we never used to get humped by anybody, if we did lose it was always by 1 goal and we'd be on the scoresheet ourselves, now we're getting torn new ar$eholes on a regular basis.* * before somebody asks me to point to exactly where we're getting 'torn new ar$eholes' in terms of results, then i guess we arent yet but its coming. we play a **** of alot of games now where we never look like we're capable of winning (or even competing) and today was just the latest, they might aswell of beat us 7-1 as that wouldve reflected how poor we were. as it happens 3-1 is more a reflection on their own inadiquacies than ours, bizarrely

Humble Pie Version 2.0
just read that all back and i know im going to take some stick for writing this, sadly i think its all true. couldnae do it as a player and probably never will as the boss... i hope im not being too harsh on the guy, although maybe he'll say he can handle it himself, if he couldnt then hes in the wrong job

Humble Pie Version 2.0
its upto the manager to focus players after big efforts like coming from 1-0 down against rangers, if we had appointed somebody more experienced than christie then maybe it wouldnt be an issue, but we didnt and he have to live with it now. every manager thats taken over our club has done so at times of transition on and off the park, christies been the first whose jobs its been to stablise things, which is really a job for somebody with alot more experience at the top level. despite his 'legend' status amongst older ict fans its important to remember that hes never actually played at the top level for any length of time. compare him as a player for ict a few years ago to the likes of black or rankin now, these guys have got a **** of alot more ability than him and are proving it at a level he couldnt hack it at. ..................my point being that in years to come winning a game against rangers 2-1 to these guys wont be such an 'extraordinary achievment for a club like inverness' as it is to christie. if they were coaching a side that had ended a poor run by beating the gers then theyd know exactly how to prepare them for their next match having now had experience christie never gained. to me christie is a naive small town boy thats struggling to come to grips with the top league and compete, perform and learn consistantly at a level he really should be capable of, very much like he struggled to do as a player.

An interesting dilemna ??
rankin on the right, with a central midfielder who can take over for him when needed would be lethal i reckon, if executed properly. rankin cutting inside and hart switching right, it wouldnt matter that tokely cant run anymore he could just sit back

An interesting dilemna ??
good to know cc's listening re rankin but having a stronger central midfielder beside black than macbain is pretty important, we were a mess today.

Falkirk - New Ticket Info
spoke to a guy back home about this (works for the rbs) and that situation happens on average about 20 times a year! he says it sounds like a simple case of some monkey putting 20's in the 10's slot but also said its unusal that it would go unreported long enough for a crowd of hundreds to get involved. the rbs will only persue their own customers who abused the machine and in the event an account takking hundreds they might get the police involved. the last word on it from the man in the know is that theyre insured to the nadsacks against these kinds of mistakes and at worst only lost between 2-3k from the atm, which is less than the cost of retrieving the money. all that i hope is the case! unless they actually want there £30 back, which will be fine too. its just a shame i didnt spend the money on something more worthwhile.

who cares how much it costs, there was an atm on northbridge tonight (edinburgh) giving out £20 notes instead of £10's, somebody obviously filled the thing wrong. a couple of mates and myself found a women who kept checking her balance, couldnt figure out what she was doing, she told us she got £60 for a £30 withdrawl. had a go myself and hooray, return train and match ticket for tomorrow paid for. didnt want to overdo it, even though im not a royal bank customer and theres virtually zip chance of them getting the money back (there mustve been about 300 people queing (+few fights) an hour later when we went past again!), its still robbing 'em. two of the people i was with went a bit mental with it but they can do whatever they want, a **** of alot of people wouldve taken advantage. at least they gave £20 to a homeless guy sitting next to the machine and i bought him fags. actually one of the funniest things ive seen in a long long time was the same begger about an hour later, he mustve had about three hundred quid in his hand

An interesting dilemna ??
for now id go with rankin on the left, with the possibility of bringing on former supersub morgan later on and switching rankin into the middle. once we get everybody back to full fitness (ie keogh and/or hart) then we should try this.. rankin - keogh/hart - black - morgan yes rankins on the right! id have him cutting inside and swapping with hart for 90 minutes, have hastings and morgan switching aswell, confuse everybody (hopefully not the players themselves they should all be capable of handling any kind of system)

Falkirk / Midden Tactics
whatever we do against falkirk we cant sit back and do our best on the break, sure thats what we tried first 75 minutes up in inverness and we went 2-0 down. we need to go on the offensive again, 4-3-3, fist them 3-2 all over again :022: as for st mirren,i dont really care!

Charlie Christie - An Inspirational Leader
You mean you'll have plenty to say if we lose our next two games? if we lose our next two games then why the **** shouldnt i :015:
-
Give Charlie 5 more games
you know my problem is that i think too many of you belive that relegation is impossible, like canary saying we're in it for the long haul, what right do ict fans have to make statements like that?
-
Charlie Christie - An Inspirational Leader
you shouldnt have a go at fans who have knee jerk reactions to bad results and then do exactly the same thing yourself when we get a good one
-
Charlie Christie - An Inspirational Leader
we looked good on tv and rankins goal was weird! i think we finally looked like a team who realised we're close to getting relegated and had somethign to play for, about bloody time! :022:

Hmm
id like to know what parkies experience has been when working at a club that appears to be freefalling. from what i hear the players hink hes a good coach and they give him ace respect for workrate but maybe not so much as a leader.. which is what i think sandys talking about and probably what we need. mcleish would be ideal, but he wouldnt go for it. ever.

The winning formation that will beat Killie?
Brown Roscoe - Dods - Munro - Hastings Wilson - Black - Keogh - Morgan Bayne - Dargo and a guy on the touchline who can get a message accross, parkie and charlie are far too timid its crazy morgan hasnt been involved more, he scored goals last year a and set as many up with just a few appearances, probably more of both than macbain will get in a season. black drops back and lets keoghs go forward (remember him anybody? remember we actually signed him as a striker 200 years ago? if we have to be gash and get relegated then we should at least get a former fans favorite involved. think we owe it to him actually as he had massive amounts of potential and was touted as our most likely scotland cap when we first got promoted, just to then rot on the bench while duncan ran up hundreds of appearances) , both can make a challenge and gives everybody else a real core to build from. bayne rattles them and is a better finisher than hes given credit for, only forward who isnt toothless or seemingly intimidated by opposition defences, must start. any changes made through the game must involve richie hart either going up front or in the middle as the likes of duncan, wyness or macbain are anything but impact players ive no idea, maybe we just need a bit of drive from somewhere, we dont even need to win the game in my opinion, we just need to get the heads up and a bit of dig in our play. eventually the obvious talent and skills of the squad will start to come through once we start getitng more of the ball, as they did in the past. theres a world of difference between how a player reacts when he collects the ball in different situations when his heads down (as ours are). from a throw in or simple pass he feels under pressure, either takes the easiest or quickest option and it only increases the pressure for next time if he f##ks up. if the same player puts in a strong challenge and the ball breaks to him he isnt worried what happens next and is a **** of alot less nervous, seeing as the defensive jobs done. this can rub onto team mates and who knows maybe even the boss i think itll take 2 posts before somebody tells me im talking sh#te about keogh being included in the squad ahead of duncan, but you could replace what i said there with hart, hes just as strong in a challenge.

aberdeen were playing well and losing points while we're playing sh1te and losing points, big difference is that they were always going to turn it round and theres no sign of us doing the same. i think ict fans have had it too good csince the club was founded, biggest problems we've faced have been replacing managers which is nothing when you compare to the sorts of things dundee, partick, st johnston, st mirren and hearts have gone through. we've always had consistently excelent leadership at boardroom level and a playing squad better than we've been paying for, which is again credit to those at the top. the flipsid of that is most ict fans are used to things always working out ok in the end, never have we been in a situation where its all gone tits up and we've been skint, leaderless or relegated. think that might be why so many people apear to be 'burying their heads' on where we're going this year, the club isnt going to magically sort its shocking performances on the pitch out all on just because thats whats happened in the past, we need a comanding experierienced presence from the touchline and focus. we've had it all too good in the past and we've taken what we have now for granted collectively, now its time to work for it and prove that we have matured to the point were we arent one hit wonders (so to speeak) or another livingston. perhaps we need more from that excellent boardroom of ours to step in and save the club again, hire a manager who isnt affraid to drop his drinking buddies and knows how to get a tactic/message across to a team. charlie has to go now while we're ahead in the relegation battle, we shouldnt wait until we're were untied (or dunfirmline) were when they sacked their manager.- "Charlie Isn't The Man For The Job"
whoever said we've been poor all seaosn is dead right, a late deflected shot from tokely and a dodgy free kick from rankin wouldve seen us another 4 points worse off than we are and in serious danger. im going to say this now and really set out where i am, call it a knee jerk reaction if you want, but charlie christie has to go now. if we get relegated it could be another 10 years before we get up again, whos prepared for that? playing poorly, with no drive or tactics and relying on luck/odgy goal mouth scrambles to score and collect points is getting us exactly where we deserve :007:- We are dragging bottom
my choice pre-sharlie was bobby williamson...he's experienced, strong, independant, knows the spl inside out, still had alot to prove.... nevermind we are where we are with regards to whos running things, you get what you pay for and all that..- "Charlie Isn't The Man For The Job"
reading again whats been said about the manager and the state of the team has made it pretty clear where the biggest difference between those who apear to be anti-christie and those who apear fanatically pro-christie, its in what we all think will happen if he doesnt do well. im getting the impression those of you that back him so passionatly think the cost of cc not being upto scratch is we'll maybe finish about 8th or 9th, get knocked out of a cup early, lose a player or two and thats it. whereas myself and one or two more think that if he fails we'll get relegated and we'll have to potentionaly wait another 10 years for spl football to come back. all ill ask is that those passionate christie fans try and analyse our season overall, taking into account performances on the pitch, recent results and the current form of the improving teams below us. is christie doing a good enough job to keep us up? in my opinion no he isnt and id hope that most on here wouldnt be blind to that purely because they want to back the boss. also id hope that as has been said most will still say hes time to change things, just not as much time as many of his fans would wish for. using this '1st division squad' line again is not a defence of christie, we dont have a first division team anymore and havent for 2 years. our squad is good enough to challenge the top 6 and when we are on song can compete over 90 minutes with anybody in this league, we've proven it dozens of times. that doesnt necessarily mean our fortunes changing are inevitable though, somebody has to take real control of matters quickly before we start dropping even more points to our rivals. is christie upto the task? i seriously hope so, a continuation of miserable form will see us rock bottom by january and itll only get harder for him. the comment about other clubs laughing at this topic is dead right, ask any seasoned fan of a club like kimarnock, motherwell, dunfirmline etc if they think we made the right move in taking on charlie? think most who are totally neutral who say no, as every other club in scotland has had experience of club 'legends' falling flat on their ar$es once they get in the dugout. they could well be laughing at the pro christie gang as much as anybody else as they will have all read the script before. we'll be safe if we can play with determination and with a physical presence again, while not sacraficing decent football, its not rocket science, its upto cc now to prove we havent lost a major managerial gamble. - "Charlie Isn't The Man For The Job"
