  1. It was developed in case the space shuttle had to make an emergency landing in Scotland. Trust me I know about these things and wouldn't lie to you.
  2. Today was the second time I've heard the green brigade/crowd staying quiet. It was weird. Don't remember hearing them at all in the first half.
  3. I also liked the one "smile for the camera see you in court" Ive got a picture of it but i'm not sure how to post it
  4. As I've mentioned before my over 80yr old dad has supported Hamilton Accies most of his life. He's disabled and I take him to the the occasional Accies game when he feels fit. He wanted to go tonight so I took him to the Accies v Staggies game at NDP. I have never seen Ross County play and was completely neutral and enjoyed most of the match. Accies scored in the first minute with an Imrie dive in the box which resulted in a penalty. Reasonable game with end to end stuff and a lot of commitment and the first have flew by and ended after what seemed 5mins. Second half was totally different and Ross county were the better team for most of the half they won 2-1. Grant Munro had a good game and I know most people on here hate Ross County, but as a neutral I quite enjoyed watching them both play, mostly good football and a bit of slack play but honestly it was a good night. My question to you is if you were in my shoes who would you want to win? Bet it would be mostly Accies. I counted 36 Ross County fans which I suppose for a tues night wasn't to bad.
  5. I've got good vibes about todays result.
  6. Thanks for all the worthwhile replies, It's much appreciated. They will now have loads of things to keep them occupied for duration of their visit. They have a car and loads of money and will be touring all of Scotland but have decided to extend their stay at Inverness because I keep going on about how lovely it is up there. I know loads about Caithness as I have stayed approx eight weeks a year there over the last 12yrs, but have only basic knowledge of Inverness. I'll prob end up living in the Inverness area. It would be strange if I did as I do more away games than home games.
  7. English friends(40yr old or so) of a friend are coming to Scotland on holiday in a few weeks time. Because I come up to watch the football they think I'm an expert in what to do and see in Inverness. I know the basics, but could someone be so kind as to suggest whats the best things for them to do while they visit? They are only there for a couple of days as they are doing all of Scotland in a four week tour. Thanks in advance
  8. Book me in fer a double voddie and coke please. Ok, you're pencilled in at the top of the drink list.
  9. Despite the result I enjoyed the game, It was a lovely sunny day, the pitch looked terrific, I was so happy to have my bum in a seat watching a live game. Both halves seemed to fly by and I don't remember any part of the game being that boring. I saw loads of positive and some negative parts to the match , It was game one in a long season and I'm pretty sure we will improve in all aspects very quickly. I'm not a betting man but I placed my first ever bet last week, It was ?10 for us finishing in the top six and I still feel confident that I'll be collecting at the end of the season. When I do I'll be more than happy to blow my winnings and buy some of the more positively minded members a drink..
  10. I'll be there plus one but although I luv a drink I don't drink during the day. I should make an exception as It's the first game of the season. I'll see how it goes on Sat.
  11. I'm reasonably happy so far, I'm looking forward to the 23rd. I would consider myself a realist and this time last year I thought with coming back up we'd be lucky to finish 9th or 10th. How wrong I was, this season my gut feeling is 6th or 7th. Hope I'm wrong again and we finish higher but i'd be more than be happy with 6th or 7th.
  12. I was going to suggest this as my two favourite teams are ICT and Newcastle Utd. Both got relegated at the same time and both came back up at the following season, they play this at St James' park and I thought it would be great to unofficially twin with them. It may not be inspirational but its a great song and has a healthy Scottish theme. I also thought of trampled underfoot by Led Zeppelin. That might work, it could be unique to us .I have been drinking so I'm probably talking crap.
  13. Excuse my ignorance but who are the Gudgies, I've never heard of that name before. I tried to work it out myself and googled it but couldn't find out.
  14. I live in the central belt and the real radio scotland phone in broadcasters(Alan Rough and Derek Johnstone) and the fans that are phoning in have been giving us a few pelters re the late time the game was called off. Here is the link if you fancy a listen. http://www.realradio-scotland.co.uk/ Need some of you vocal fans to give them a phone to sort them out.
  15. Just heard an interesting theory on the Real Radio football phone in down here in the central belt, one caller made the point that he feared that Lennon would have to put out a weaker team on Wed night against us because of the old firm game on Sunday. Hope he's right.
  16. Thought the accies would have held out for the draw. Bummer
  17. Wish I could have come up for this one but due to commitments I cant make it . Hope the game and result are better than the last clash at fir park.
  18. Mega respect for TB regarding that interview. In my opinion he was 100% correct in everything he said. While were on the subject of respect I have to admire and take my hat off to all the fans that made the two trips down at this time of the year for the last two matches. I felt like an impostor as my total travel for both games was an measly 58 miles. Still I'm home now and enjoying a rather nice malt to console myself for a match that I thought we could have won or more fairly drawn. Rangers were there for the taking in my humble opinion.
  19. Its a 185 mile trip each way for me but I don't think I'll make it tonight due to family illness (my dad is in hosp again with heart trouble). If I can get someone to go visit him I can get up for the game from just outside Hamilton.
  20. For those that have never been before the stadium is within sight of Hamilton West station. When you get off the train look towards the rear of it and you will see a footpath. follow that and you will walking past Sainsburys on your right, its about a 2-3 min walk and you will be at the stadium. Easy. If you go to the front of the station and climb the stairs turn left and left and you will be on the same path. there is a map on the bridge wall but you wont need it. I might try to get to Chambers for a pint or two before the game, depends if I have to drive my dad to the game. Hes an accies supporter, so if you see an old guy in a wheelchair with an accies scarf being pushed by a tall guy wearing an Inverness scarf say hi coz its me.
