  1. To be fair to them they went to Spain to watch a football game - not walking in the Cairngorms.

I was in Paris in September for 4 days to watch France v Scotland and we all had a different Scotland top / T-shirt for each day but none of use brought our thermals.

I didn't seriously think they should all take thermals.  It was just an excuse to rip the erse out them, ye dig me bro? ;)

  2. We're not that much better to be honest. Lets not start getting delusions of grandeur. We're a wee club ourselves afterall.

I totally disagree.  Ours is a wee club but it is run in a sustainable way so the chances of us ending up like Gretna are slim.

  3. Journalists, especially football hacks, hear dozens of rumours regarding all sorts of goings on with all clubs.  You can't expect the Courier, or any other paper, to publish the rumours that surface on unofficial websites like this one.  To publish a story in a newspaper you need to be able to back up your claims, to have sources, quotes etc.

Yeah, and its the journalist's job to dig deeper when they hear a rumour to see if they can substantiate it.  IMO I don't believe they're trying hard enough.

  4. Companies pay their employees as little as possible for as long as possible and only fork out any extra when they absolutely have to (e.g. when staff start walking or threaten to walk).  I don't think our club will be any different and I wouldn't be surprised if the club has not offered the players a bonus plan that is realistic.  The club have a thrifty attitude which has stood us in good stead so far, however the players are getting p1ssed off... Bayne(?) was on about the players getting more money for getting us and keeping us in the SPL when his contract was up for renewal, so if he's saying it they're ALL thinking it.

I hope the club see them alright to keep them happy in order for the core of the team to stay intact.

Having a "be all you can be" attitude is great but its not when your employer is ripping the erse out you!!

    Regards,

Slightly Cynical Employee of the Month

  5. I don't even bother reading the sport section of the Courier when I'm home as it tells me nothing that I don't already know.  Its like the official ICT Newsletter.

The real story about Rankin or Parky leaving would've made good reading.

  6. If the players are thinking that because they've not been given an incentive then they are quite right! I wouldn't finish a work project early if there was nothing in it for me.  Put an incentive in front of me though and I will set my stall out and work my socks off ;)

The club should not have the players in a situation where they end up worse off by winning. :33:

    Its just common sense!

  7. These things happen from time to time.  If Alex McLeish believes the player didn't mean it then that's good enough for me.  I was glad to hear Wenger retracted his post-match comments and I think Sky did the wrong thing by not just playing a replay and the reverse angle after it happened.  I think Andy Gray was the commentator saying something like, "I cannae handle this its horrible don't show it".  It should've been shown straight away just to prove that it wasn't a deliberate and cynical tackle.  It was horrific looking but Eduardo will recover.

  8. I don't like the sound of this guy one wee bit.  Not just because he's made money in the sex industry but because of his bullsh1t tough talk, suggesting the guys who got us where we are aren't good enough to take us forward.  Very disrespectful.

Maybe I'm being a bit cynical but its worth pointing out that the security and sex industries are synonymous with supershadyness. You hear about it in Glasgow a lot.  He "claims to have provided security to celebrities, royalty and US President George Bush".  Bush is the biggest feckin crook of them all!!  I wouldn't put that on my CV.

Are there any good looking females in a seat near you ?

    :rotflmao:

I've seen 1 or 2 but I think they were guests of the visiting club.

  9. You may remember a lad called Mark Brown, after he left, telling the press what a cracking job he'd done in getting ICT into the SPL and single-handedly keeping them there for a couple of seasons; that lad is now picking green and white splinters out of his erse, and will be doing so for the best years of what could have been his career; and at least he chose to move...

    When did Mark say this???

  10. Just going back to the "feeder club" notion for a second....  Are we not already a feeder club due to our size and the fact that we've done so well?

Robson, Dods, Wyness, Brown, Brewster, Robertson, Paterson to name but a few are all people who have moved on to bigger clubs at some point.
