  1. I agree with all the positives that have been expressed in this thread.  Greg was great for us, especially in his second spell.  He contributed greatly to our cup winning team and, as far as I can tell, was always a good ambassador for ICT, on and off the field.  Good luck to him in whatever he does next.  We could do with one or two of his ilk these days.

For a club that's done so much right on the pitch in a short space of time it's staggering how abysmal we have been off the pitch over the years. We have never gotten it together and it seems like we never will.

Whilst I agree with the majority of your post I think this last couple of sentences are  a bit harsh.  Blaming it all on the board is too easy.  The basic problem is the apathy of the 'support' from the Inverness area. Ok, there are probably things the Board might have been able to do to improve things, but if the majority of the potential fanbase would rather jump on buses every week to support the ugly sisters, the Board are on a hiding to nothing.

  3. Very pleased with another, fairly comfortable 3 points.  Pity Dundee Utd got those 2 last minute goals in their match.  Very disappointing crowd.

Let us keep this good run going  and see how things stand in a few weeks.   I'm getting more optimistic every week.

I see Ali Sutherland is now at Rothes.

I always thought he would get established at a higher level.

He got sent off in midweek but had earlier scored a goal and he netted two last weekend also.

Yes, he left Elgin in the summer.  I think he has scored 5 goals since moving to Rothes.  Probably found his level I think.

  5. Whilst I agree that the club is being seen to be taking some action, because of a small minority of  unruly visiting 'away fans', surely, especially for the probable, even fewer number, who will travel north for this next 'minor' cup game, just sticking them in a far corner of the uncovered main stand would have been enough.  Then we could all have prayed to the rain Gods!!  Opening the South stand for a handful of visiting fans does not make economical sense.

A very enjoyable evening. I thought we shaded the first half and just about deserved to be ahead.

A flyer at the start of the second settled us and we then kicked on.

A bit surprised about the earlier comments in this thread as I expected a tough game. Where we struggled at times in the first half, it was generally self inflicted.

I actually felt we played for the full match, which we don’t always do, and by the end we were coasting and looking for a sixth.

Just a pity there was quite a small crowd.

Hopefully that gives confidence and we stay in the play off places. United are a cut above everyone, we need to be the next best and aim for second.

The pitch looked good again, and the sprinklers were in use before the game and at half time despite the heavy rain earlier. It seemed to play well.

We are best when we move it fast. More of that, please.

Of the players, Ridgers was rarely troubled and a good penalty save.

Rooney is doing much better this season. Tremarco was the best I’ve seen him this season. Donaldson took his goal well, whilst McCart is class.

Carson and Vincent worked hard. A couple of slack touches by Carson, but I think he will develop into a mainstay for us as he wants to take the ball down and play it. The new Tansey?

Walsh has some good touches and runs. Doran held the ball well but seems to have lost a yard of pace,

Keatings took his goals well and was lively. White took his goal well.

Of the subs, Storey was quiet until he switched to the right late on. Todorov did very well for his goal, assuming he was just on side. MacGregor looked lively as always.

Most enjoyable 90 minutes for a long time!

    More please!!

Can't disagree with that summary.  Broadly speaking, that's the way it looked to me too on TV.

I'm a little surprised that there are not more positive comments on here, after our biggest win in a long time, against a well fancied Morton outfit.  Second half performance was just what we need.

    Well done lads.

  7. Very interesting s-c.  The back of the orphanage abutted Daviot Drive, as you said, which was one of our main playgrounds for many of us Hilton lads in the 50s.  We used to call it Daviot Oval in the summer months when cricket was all the go, but also used it for football too, with jackets for the goalposts.

Re Tom McKenzie, he was a great friend of my parents, and visited us regularly, once a week in Dell Road, for a cuppa and whatever cake my Mam had  recently baked.  I never knew he was a product of the orphanage.  Maybe my parents knew, but never told me, as I was adopted, and but for their kindness in 'taking me in', could well have ended up there myself.
